Could someone tell me what buildings are "standard" room buildings at ASMo?
I looked at a map and the buildings don't seem that far from the main building. But then the cartographer in me says "but there isn't a scale..." Looks could not be accurate.

I believe the Fantasia buildings are "preferred" because they are the closest to the pool/food court/bus station area.101 Dalmations may also be "preferred",but I'm not sure. The rest are "standard",and if you get what is next to Fantasia it's not a bad walk at all.The others may be a bit of a hike.

I believe just Fantasia is preferred, so that would mean the rest are standard. We stayed there last September in the Woody building. We had a very short walk to the main building. We also walked from one end to the other(Toy Story to Mighty Ducks) and it wasnt that long of a walk at all. Id estimate about 7 minutes. You are right, the resort isnt that big, especially when you compare it to places like POR where we had previously stayed.

We've stayed at the All-Star Movies twice now and we really like this resort. Both of our stays have been the week after Thanksgiving, so it was not crowded at all.
In Nov/Dec 2000, although I had requested Toy Story (my little girl loves Jessie), we got Love Bug. We had checked in around 10:00 AM, and the room was not ready, so we headed off to Epcot and didn't get back til late (after the Candlelight Processional and fireworks). Anyway, we loved the Love Bug section - it was VERY quiet, and a short walk to the bus stop/food court.
In Nov/Dec 2001, my little one really wanted to stay with Oddball in 102 Dalmations, and even though she had fallen asleep on the way from the airport, when she heard the CM say we were in Dalmations, she was so happy!!! She danced all the way to the room (and this was about 1:00 AM!!) Again, we were very pleased with our room - very quiet and still a short walk to the bus stop/food court.
It is my understanding that only Fantasia is the "preferred" bldg for the Movies; and in my opinion, it is not worth paying extra for. The resort is not that big, so getting around is easy. We are a family of 5, so we are usually at the deluxes (although we've stayed at some of the moderates when my youngest was 3 and under). We really love the Disney touches at this hotel! Enjoy your stay!!!!!

Fantasia is the only preferred building because it is the closest to lobby, pool and busses.I have stayed in Toy Story the last 2 times and loved it-not far at all.So far this year I have the AAA rate for the preferred room(standard were all booked).I wanted to still remain in Toy Story but was put in Fantasia because of preferred rate.I just hope it's not real noisy there!
