Welcome one and all to my PTR for Dec 2010! Yep, you read it right! We've booked our DD#2's first Disney visit and she isn't due until January!! (We've actually planned her 1st 3 visits -Dec '10; Oct '11 & May '12, but that's because we are nutty Disney freaks!!:scared1:)

Let's get on with it, shall we!!!

Who: The Cast!
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2013/Image0832.jpg

Me, Wendy - 35 Mom, wife and Disney lover & planner. You can always read my previous PTR & TR to get a better sense of who I am!! This will be my 18th trip, I think!! I may have lost count! Our most recent trip was in May 2009. We spent 10 fantastic nights at the Poly!

DH, Mike - 35 Loving husband and World's Greatest Daddy! He loves Disney as much as me, but isn't into the planning...unless we're talking dining!!

DD#1, Emily - 3 The sweetest, most precious little girl...sometimes!!:cutie: She loves Disney and asks everyday when we can go back. She is really into the princesses, Snow White being her favorite, and she loves the fairies! This will be her 4th Disney vacation!

DD#2, We'll call her Eva for now!! Don't tell DH that I told you her name, he wants to keep it a secret! :confused3 She is our Disney souvenir from our May trip and we can not wait for her arrival! Hopefully she is as easy going and loves to sleep like Emily!!:cloud9:

We are visiting Disney World from Dec 4-11, 2010 and staying at the Wilderness Lodge. We are looking forward to the sights and sounds of Christmas time at Disney! We chose the WL for a couple of different reasons. 1) DH has always dreamed of staying here, 2) It's themeing seems the most Christmassy, cozy, and 3) You can't beat the price for a deluxe resort close to the MK!

We also chose the DDP, but we may upgrade to the DxDP at some point! We ate on the DxDP last time and it was ALOT of food, but being able to eat at many of the Signature restaurants was nice! I have until June to decide where we are going to eat. Do you think that will be enough time!!:rotfl:

Stay tuned for many more exciting updates!!

I think Wilderness Lodge will be so pretty in December.

Hey Leanne! I'm feeling pretty good, I am a little more tired lugging this big belly around, but I'm getting plenty of sleep. Thankfully Emily sleeps about 10 hours a night so I usually get at least 8 myself! Hopefully this baby will love to sleep like Emily always has!!:cloud9:

I have a few names I had chosen when pg w/ Ashton:

Eva Marcel, Eva Rayne, Eva Belle
(BTW: Danny's mom's name is Eva:rolleyes: )

(we had chosen Skylar Rayne for a girl)

YAY, Congrats on your new baby girl! How does Emily feel about her? So glad to hear everything went well. Soon, you'll be packing her up and taking her to Disney World! And I love the name, very nice! And it's ok to be a minnie mouse, My little lizzie weighed exactly the same thing when she was born, and she's still today a cute little peanut. My other two, that's another story, they were big beasts when they were born!

Well, Mike got a call on Friday that he is being transitioned to a contract position with his company, which basically means he is laid off until there is work available. Great timing, stupid company! He's been on approved vacation time last week and this week. He is so P.O.ed and hurt after 12 years of dedicated service to this comapny. At his end of the year review he was told he was a part of the companies team and not going anywhere even though business has been slow. He was one of three in his dept who had not been laid off yet out of about 30. Now they are down to one employee until his case is over. Mike has been thinking about leaving this company for a little while because he is sick of the travel and being away from his family so he knows this is the kick he needs to move on, but he is hurt at the way it was handled after all he has given and this is supposed to be a happy time for us and this company has poo-pooed all over it only causing stress and anxiety.

I feel horrible because he is the provider for our family and I have had the luxury of staying home since before Emily was born. I actually quit working before I got preggers because my Mom was sick and I was taking care of her. I know Mike would not have it any other way, but that is just added pressure for him.:sad1:

On a more uplifting note, Mike and I are in the position that we have enough savings for us to still live comfortably for about 6 months without any income so with unemployment and our taxes we'll be getting back, we'll be more than OK. However, Mike is so awesome, that within 2 hours of getting laid off, a former colleague offered him a position as Logistics Manager for the company he is VP of Operations at. The pay is a little less, but there is no travel and the two locations are both less than 15 miles in either direction from our home. Things aren't set in stone yet, but should be by the end of the week. Hopefully, everything falls into place this week and we won't have to worry about cancelling our December Disney trip which is half way paid for anyway!

Thanks for letting me vent and get this stress off of my chest!!

Eva is so beautiful! I am so sorry to hear about Mike's job!! What awful timing :headache: but maybe like you said this will be the push he needed to leave and hopefully be a blessing in disguise for you all. It is so crazy how "they" say the economy is doing better but I keep hearing of more and more people getting let go. I will keep my fingers crossed that this new opportunity works out for Mike!! Congrats again on your sweet baby girl.

I am so sorry to hear about Mike's job...what rotten timing! But, I have to give it to ya'll on being prepared for a just in case situation. Wendy, Eva is so beautiful. I swear she looks like Emily. I'm glad you and she are doing so well. I'm sorry about Mike's job. I think it is nasty how companies treat people now days. And they say the economy is getting better :rolleyes1. I'm glad that he got a hit on another job and he will be home with you and the girls more. God doesn't close one door without opening another.

Enjoy Eva and Emily and take advantage of having Mike home.

Hi Dana! We think Eva looks just like Emily only half the size!! Emily was 8lbs, 9oz when she was born 2 weeks early so when Eva came out, we were shocked by her size, but she is growing like a weed!

I hope this work out for Mike's new job :) :goodvibes Rotten timing as everyone has said. Hang in there!!!

Thanks! I'm enjoying having Mike home, too bad he couldn't just stay home forever!!

Wendy, there is going to be something much better around the corner for Mike. Sounds like he has a pretty solid lead already. Please let us know how it works out! Sending some pixiedust:

Thanks for the pixie dust Leanne!!

Aww, i'm so sorry about Mike's job. Manny keeps getting laid off once in a while, but nothing too severe. He is also looking for something better to come up though. I hope everything goes well, i'm sure it's very stressful with a new baby... and of course a Disney Trip! But, glad to hear that there is some good news in there!

Hi Pam! Fortunately, with Disney not until December, we don't have to make any rash decisions just yet! I'll give up a lot of stuff during hard times, but not Disney!!;)

Thinking of you! Job stress stinks, especially when you have a new baby! She is darling by the way!

Thanks! We think she's darling too!!

I made it! Subscribing now so I don't lose you!

Yay! Kara's in da house!! I figured you hated Disney so much you'd decided to disassociate yourself with all things Disney related! Happy to hear that's not the case and that you are planning trip #2!! Bummer about your dude moving up here, you should have tagged along!

Yikes sorry about Mike's job. Does he officially have a job at the new place now? I'm glad you guys are smart savers. :)

Hi ya Shannon! How is baby doing? I can't believe you'll be back in Disney in 2 weeks! Brat!! :thumbsup2

I am happy to report to you all that Mike starts his new job a week from Monday! He's feeling very relieved to not be off work for too long considering the economic situation in this country, even worse, here in the Detroit area. His former job was mainly working in the auto industry which has gone in the poo poo. Luckily, the new company is not part of the automotive industry. Like I said before, the pay is a little less, but the benefits are great, and they have a matching 401K, which we did not have before. The best part is that he will be working about 15 minutes from home and there is no travel! Actually, the best part is that our Disney trip in December does not have to be compromised!! :cool1:

:woohoo:Yay on Mike's job. I know ya'll will be much happier now that he will be home every night. Eva and Emily will have their Dad and you will have your husband. You may even find that the little pay cut doesn't even factor in. I'm glad your Disney trip is not effected, I know that is the least of worries, but it is nice to have a vacation to look forward to.

A friend of mine had her daughter about 3 years ago, full term and the tiny thing weighed about 4lbs 11oz...and man has she made up for it now! And she is the smartest little thing...giving Rylan a run for his money!

And I did make it up to Ann Arbor twice before we broke up ;) Gorgeous town!

Hi Pam!! The girls are doing great! Eva is growing like a weed, she has already grown over and inch and has gained over a pound since she was born 3 weeks ago! Emily is over the moon in love with her little sister and can't stop giving her kisses!

You asked for pics...you got 'em!!

I actually have some Disney updates!!

I called and added Eva to our December reservation and changed our view from a woods view to an inner courtyard view so we will overlook the pool and Bay Lake! :cool1:

Hopefully, I'll get some sort of PIN, but I'm sure there will be some sort of promotion happening during that time, so I'll keep looking out for that.

I also received our new Disney vacation DVD yesterday. It's pretty much the same one as 2008 & 2009, but with new stuff on the Give a Day promo. popcorn::

Finally, we have less than 10 months to go now!!

Emily and I just watched a show on the Travel Channel about the Wilderness Lodge and Emily has decided we HAVE to do the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue!

I think we may have to upgrade to the DxDP again for all of the restaurants we want to eat at!

Hi Wendy!! I am glad you caught the show- for some reason my DVR taped the first 30 minutes!! But from what we saw, we loved! We booked the Inner Courtyard view too!! Although Samantha Brown advised getting a deluxe room and the woods view lol! We are going to do the deluxe too- Artist Point, Hoop De Doo, and Cali Grill are already on our minds for must do's! Have you heard of the new Villian Dinner??? It sounds AWESOME. I am not sure when it will be starting but it will be from GF and I know we are going to eat there for sure!!!!!!

The pics of Eva are so adorable. I love the B&W one and of course I love the one of her and Emily!!

Hi Nickie! I think the show was only 30 min, that's all my DVR recorded too, but it really got me excited to stay there! Mike and I ate breakfast at Artist Point 10 years ago and Mike has wanted to stay there ever since. I don't know why it has taken us so long to choose the WL! :confused3 Ha ha, I checked the price of the deluxe room after Samantha recommended it, but :scared1:, I think we'll stick with the inner courtyard view!

I was just making a list of all of the places we still need to eat at or would like to try again and I'm pretty sure we're going to have to upgrade to the DxDP! Mike said the other day that he likes to have a full bfast while on vacation. He's usually too busy during his regular schedule to eat bfast so on vacay it's nice to start the day eating and planning with the family, so I'm pretty sure the DxDP is in our future!

I heard rumors of the Villian dinner, I'd like to know more about it! Sounds fun!:maleficen

When are you starting that TR, woman?;)

Seagrass!! and deluxe dining for sure!!!! I think you should have breakfast at CP- empty park photo's, Chef Mickey,The Wave- take the boat over, Tusker House- to get on safari first, Play n Dine- first access to TSM. Whispering canyon does breakfast too but I wasnt sure if that would be too loud for first thing in the morning!! Am I being to pushy!? hee hee

02-15-2010, 10:23 PM
You need DxDP for sure! I'm absolutely no help on the stroller thing. I see exactly why you're torn. The Seagrass is cool, calming colors and will probably be super cool 3 years from now but the Spice says "check out our cuteness people!" I don't know...:confused3.:lmao:

wlwilliams9
02-16-2010, 01:00 PM
Thanks for the stroller input! While I like the spice, Emily really wants the seagrass and it seems to be the most popular with the rest of you as well, which tells me that the seagrass will be better for resale in a few years when I no longer need a double stroller. So seagrass it is!!

As for the DxDP, we have decided to upgrade :woohoo: after I asked Mike which restaurants he wanted to try this time and he named about 20 of them! I can't make ADRs until 6/7/10, but I've started putting together a list of where we want to eat on which days. I've been using last years park hours as a guide so hopefully the hours will be the same this year! I hate that hours come out the same day you make your ADRs. I need to know hours first, then I know which days I will be at which parks since we don't use Hoppers! Urgh!! Anyway, once I've completed my list, I'll be sure to share it with you!

Oooh do tell me more- i didnt hear about either.

Here is what I've found so far Nickie!

From allears.net & the DIS

Cantina de San Angel at the Mexico pavilion in Epcot, will be closed for a significant refurbishment and expansion until fall 2010. The company that operates the restaurants in the Mexico pavilion, San Angel Inn, LLC, plans to open on the site a new 400-seat waterside restaurant and quick service food location "specializing in the freshly baked culinary flavors of Mexico." During the refurbishment, the San Angel Inn Restaurante and La Cava de Tequila located inside the Mexico pavilion, and the Taqueria Del Lago, located alongside the promenade, will still be open for Mexican dining.

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2387650

Great news – especially if you share my passion for amazing pizza. An authentic pizzeria will be opening at the Italy Pavilion at Epcot theme park later this year and it’s an attention-grabber.

The new 300-seat restaurant will have traditional Florentine architecture, vaulted-ceilings and outside dining. And the food will be authentic — Italian dishes (complimenting the offerings at Tutto Italia ) and pizza from wood-burning ovens.

The pizzeria will be the newest flagship restaurant in the Patina Restaurant Group’s portfolio. And one of the special touches at the Epcot location will be the water. It’ll be imported from a source where the composition most resembles water used in Naples, Italy, to make the authentic Italian dough.

A name for the family-style pizzeria has not been finalized but we wanted to share this information with you first on the Disney Parks Blog. Construction is currently underway and the restaurant is scheduled to open in fall 2010. Check back for more updates.

First of all, congratulations on your new bundle of Joy. She is beautiful! :cutie: I love having a girl... my sweetie will turn 4 in a little over a month. I don't know where the time goes, it's insane.

I to planned my baby's 1st trip to WDW before he was born. We started the planning a year ago, he just turned 9 weeks old, and we leave in less then two weeks. It's been a very tiresome year and I'm so excited that our trip is just around the corner. It's going to be intersting getting around disney with an infant but I'm up for the challenge.

I'm glad things worked out for your husband, that's great news. My husband just got bad news the other day concerning his work too.... He was told he needed to take a 25% paycut, and he either needed to take it or leave it. More then 1/2 of his co-workers were laid off as well. It couldn't come at a worse time because of the arrival of our new baby, plus our trip. And of course we can't cancel because everything is paid for already. I'm also a stay at home mom and am feeling major guilt for not being able to contribute to our monthly finances. I'm just hoping that things work out soon and this is happening for a reason. The poor guy has been there for 15 years and for them to do this to him is a real kick in the pants.

Anyway......... I'm looking foward to hearing about your plans. And I hope you're getting more sleep then I am. Enjoy every second with your new baby.

I am in shock mine is upcoming in less than two weeks!! Those new restaurants look nice (though Catina is not new, just expanded). I am curious to see when in Fall 2010 they will be open, I highly doubt by my trip though.

The beginnings of your plans look nice. I like DTD too just for the change of pace. Plus my DH is a huge lego fanatic so we have to go the LEGO store. I am actually going to make him a gift voucher Lego set of his choice to give him on his birthday. I want to look at Trendz since it was not there last time we went.

:welcome:to my PTR!! WOW! It sounds like our lives are paralleled, almost 4 year olds, new babies, DH's troubled jobs, love Disney!! Congrats on your new son. You must be getting excited for your trip, it's getting so close! I'm gonna jump into your PTR when I'm done here!

Bummer about your DH having to take the pay cut. I guess it's better than no pay, but when you get used to bringing home X amount of money each month, having to readjust to 25% less is no fun!

Anyway, I've got 9 more months of updates so stay tuned!;)

Eva is so beautiful!! She looks just like Emily. So precious!

I think both the new Italian restaurant and the expanded Cantina are slated to open on 9/1/10. Hopefully, there will be no hiccups in the process and you can check them out on your trip!

After thinking about it, I whink we will definitely make the trip over to DTD for some Christmas shopping. You're right, I like the change of pace at DTD too and who am I to deny DH his Ghirardelli fix! Ghirardelli was closed for rehab on our 2008 trip and my DH was so disappointed he said he would have changed our vacation dates if he would have known!:rotfl:

Hey Wendy!
The schedule looks great- So fun that you will get to go to the Christmas Party at MK and see the WL at Christmas with that huge tree in the lobby. I wonder how easy it will be to get to DTD from WL? We have been so spoiled because we were at POR and then POFQ and could take that boat right over. I missed that on this trip so we didnt even get to DTD. I think maybe on the next trip though, instead of waiting all day for our room to be ready we will go spend a couple hours in DTD and get some ice cream!!!

You've got a lot of great ADR's planned. It's making me hungry just reading about it. Your ADR date is my birthday. We can wait together for that date (for different reasons of course....LOL). Hope you're having a great weekend! How is Mike liking his new job?

I know, I know, it's really early to be thinking about our ADRs since I can't make reservations until June, but you know how it is!!

Here is our food plan*:
*Subject to change several times during this PTR, especially once the December hours are released in June and as I look at the menus over and over and over!

Saturday, Dec 4th - Magic Kingdom
B-Airport food :)
L-Casey's Corner
D-Chef Mickey's
- Great First Night Idea!!! (Our tradition- such a great way to see Mickey right away and truly feel like you are in Disney and with the boat ride from the WL right to the CR- that will be awesome. Maybe you can time it so that you can be on the boat back to the WL during Wishes! Or watch wishes from the 4th floor deck at the CR!
Sunday, Dec 5th - Hollywood Studios
B-Ohana or you can get here early and do Play n dine - it really is so good!!!!L-Mama Melrose Fantasmic Dinner Pkg
D-Counter Service

Monday, Dec 6th - Magic Kingdom
B-Crystal Palace - YUM!
L-Cosmic Rays
D-Artist Point
I cant wait to try Artist Point!!!Tuesday, Dec 7th - Epcot
B-Snacks
L-New Italina Pizzeria I want to try this one too.D-New Mexican Restaurant with Illuminations seating
This is on our list for Epcot too. What is the Illumination seating!?Wednesday, Dec 8th - Animal Kingdom & DTD
B-Roaring Forks
L-Tusker House
D-Earl of Sandwich or Wolfgang Puck Express I think I am finally going to try Earl next trip too!

Thursday, Dec 9th - Free Morning & Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party
B-Kona Cafe
L-Snacks
D-Cinderella's Royal Table - This is going to be a really good day!!
Friday, Dec 10th - Epcot
B-Snacks
L-Chefs de France
D-Le Cellier

Saturday, Dec 11th - Free Day
B-1900 Park Fare
L-Whispering Canyon Cafe This was our last day lunch and a great way to end the trip! I think it will be again on the next trip too. D-Airport food :sad1:

What are your thoughts?

Hey Leanne! June 7th is 2 of my nieces and my SIL's bday too! :) Thanks for asking about Mike's new job! He's been working a lot of long hours because he was hired to turn the place around and get it functioning better. He's run into a few obsticales, mostly older employees that are not happy about changes, but for the most part he likes it!

Ha ha! I have The Wave on my list, I just didn't know where to fit it in with everything else we want!! It hasn't been ruled out completely though! I'm also thinking about switching Ohana bfast with Play & Dine. As my disclaimer says, my list is subject to change in the next 9 months!!:rotfl:

Great idea to catch Wishes from the CR or the boat! Most likely, we;ll head back to MK after dinner since they're open until 1am! We're night owls!

Oh, and the new Mexican restaurant is going to be on the upper level of the Cantina and have outdoor seating for a great view of Illuminations!:thumbsup2

I am of the opinion it is never to early to start planning! I Love the disclaimer you put under in small print. :lmao: We are hoping for Fantasmic dinner package too. We would love not to have to wait in a long line in order to just try for seats. I will definitely check on my trip to see if they are opened and try to report it on my TR (yes, I am planning on doing one already ;)).

Hope Mike gets things turned around soon so he has more time at home with his girls. :goodvibes I have some of the same issues where I'm at. We are working on changing the culture and the average tenure of the employees is 36 years....it's tough to change minds that have been doing things a certain way for that many years. I'm glad Mike is liking his new job-I'm sure it's a big relief for both of you. :)

CRAZY!! So, you all know about Mike being laid off in Jan. then finding a new job, literally 2 hours afterwards. Well, the former colleague that hired Mike and a few others that Mike previously worked with have all been let go. Today is there last day at this company, but Mike was called into a meeting with the owner and told that he was a great fit for the company and they hope he will stick around. He's moved into a different position that he likes better. He was the Operations Manager at the smaller of their 2 plants, now he is the Materials and Logistics Manager for both plants which is more of what he has always done and went to school for. My DH is awesome! Everybody loves him!!:lovestruc

As we approach May, I'm finding myself itching to buy the girls wardrobes for spring/summer. I know it's because this is the time I start buying all of the warm weather clothes for our May Disney trips, but alas, no May Disney trip this year. :sad2: Mike and I both got our Disney emails the other day as they kicked off the F&G festival and we both looked at each other and sighed a little. I think Mike is even wishing we were going back sooner! I've tried to talk him into a short trip and he would probably agree if he were still working for his previous employer where he had 5 weeks vacation. Since he just started this job he's not sure if he can take the time. Oh well! December is just around the corner....right??!!??!!?? :rotfl:

Hey Wendy!
You look GREAT!!! I love the pic of Eva in her pink hat. so cute!!!! So I have to tell u that I ALREADY have changed my hotel for Feb! We are going to stay at POFQ again and DOWN GRADE to basic Dining Plan.... I cant believe it.... I am a little sad about WL but we have lot's of family coming along this trip and I feel bad making everyone pay the deluxe price... AND I kind of want to go back to our more simple trips... and we love Port Orleans so I think it will be ok.... I just have to get used to the idea of taking the bus everywhere.

Talk to you soon!

Aww, what pictures of baby Eva. Sweet zoo pictures!! Do you ever go to the Toledo Zoo? We find we spend more time there than the Detroit one. Though I am considering getting an Individual Plus membership so we can head up to the Detroit Zoo without paying (we get half off with Toledo, but if I go four times, it is about the price of that membership even with the discount).

Nic: that is why we settled on POR--it just made sense with all the others coming with us to be more affordable. I really do not think we will be spending super amounts of time in the room, so POR will be great for us.

And I feel the same way about wanting to buy pretty dresses and pack them away for Disney because that is what we were doing last year at this time! :sad2: I also wish we were going in May, but after May is over, we'll still have trips to look forward to, right! ;)

Hi Nickie! :wave2: Thanks for the compliment! I need a haircut desperately, but other than that, I'm feeling pretty good! Just trying to lose some of this weight. The breast feeding is helping and we are going for lots of walks with our new stroller, but the chicken and dumplings I made for dinner last night probably wasn't the best idea. :rotfl:

I can't believe you are doing the big family trip again!! Mike is the youngest of 5 and his family always talks about going to Disney together someday, which would be 22 of us. In theory it sounds like a ton of fun, but in reality I think it might get crazy. I think the only way it would work is for all of us to do our own things and meet up for a few dinners or special Grand Gathering events throughout the vacation.

Bummer about the WL. You guys should still stay there and let the other family members stay where they want. You don't have to all be at the same resort do you?

I do know what you mean about the simpler vacations. We will probably go back to mods when the girls are older and don't need naps or strollers anymore....maybe!:rolleyes1 It's hard to downgrade once you've been spoiled by deluxe, having the Monorail, boats or walking to MK, Epcot or DHS is priceless!

We usually go to the Toledo Zoo, but since it was still chilly we decided just to take a quick trip to the Detroit Zoo. I do prefer the Toledo Zoo though, there is so much more to see there. I'm sure we'll be there a few times this summer! I've been thinking about buying the membership too.

Does Lilian ever take classes at the Summit? Emily is taking a Littlest Chef class on Wednesdays that starts on the 17th. She is so excited! I've been thinking of getting a membership at the the Summit as well. I'm waiting until Eva is 3 months so she can go to the daycare while I work out. I need to get my big booty back in shape!

See you around town!!

Hey Pam! I'm excited for the spring weather too! It's nice to get out after being cooped up all winter. I think I'm going to open some of the windows today for a few minutes just to air the house out!

You're right! After everyone is back from Disney in May, they will have nothing to look forward to and we will!! ;) :rotfl:

My MIL, who will be 70 this June and her BFF (also 70) went over to Canada to play BINGO as they do almost every week. As they were coming back across the border, they were asked to pull over for a search. :confused3 Two little old ladies must be on the suspicious persons list! :rotfl: Anyway, my BIL, who is a hunter, had left all of his hunting gear in the back of my MIL's car so when the border patrol officer popped the trunk there were several rifles ect.. in her trunk! :scared1: The harda$$ patrol officer then had my MIL and her friend in a room questioning them about the guns and what they were doing with them. My MIL explained that they were her son's hunting equipment, but I guess the patrol officer wasn't buying it. Maybe he sees lots of old lady terrorist coming across the border! So he wanted to contact my BIL about the guns and his permits, but he is in jail right now for failing some mandatory drug tests, (yup, he's a real winner, 42, lives with MIL, no car, no job all because he loves the cocaine, but that's a whole other story) so finally, after running background checks on MIL and her BFF and thanks to a non-harda$$ patrol officer that did believe them, they were released and sent on their way 4 hours later!!

Mike and I were cracking up when MIL told us what had happened. We were just imagining two grandma terrorist lugging around rifles and sharp shooting the President or something!! :rotfl2: Or maybe they should make another Bourne movie starting Polly, my MIL and call it The Bourne Grandma!! :3dglasses

I made the Emily bracelet a few years ago after Emily was born and so I needed to add an Eva strand! I had ordered some of the beads online and some of the beads are from my wedding jewelry & bridesmaids jewelry that I also made. Yesterday I went to Hobby Lobby for the double strand toggle, strung the beads and wah-lah, this is how it turned out!

Hi! I'm a little behind, but I just found your PTR...everything looks good so far...your dining choices are making me hungry!!! :rotfl: I'm so glad I read the comments on your ADR's...I had NO idea they were making viewing for Illuminations during the refurbishments of the EPCOT Mexican pavilion restaurant! We each picked a place to eat & that's my DH's choice...so now I'm excited to add the Illuminations seating to my list!!! :)

I know what you mean about having to wait until December for your trip...we are going at the end of November & I can't wait!!! I think I'm driving everyone crazy talking about my planning...so I'm glad I have DIS boards because everyone on here understands!!! ;) I am able to make my ADR's on June 2nd...but I have already started planning meals as well! I've known for awhile where I want to eat, I just have to work on scheduling the days. I finally made a "Disney binder" and printed out menus the other night! I noticed you have Chef Mickey's on your list...have you eaten there before? Just wondered what you think of it...I've heard tons of good things from everyone on DIS!

Your girls are absolutely adorable!!! I have 2 boys...I think if I had girls I'd be broke from buying all the cute little outfits with matching hairbows, socks, shoes, etc. There just aren't as many options for boys! ;) I'm very excited though...my first niece will be arriving any day now!!! So I guess I will be able to spoil her...I'm already planning to bring her back Princess stuff from Disney! :rolleyes1

Can't wait to read more of your PTR!!!

I forgot two things in my reply...sorry!

First I completely understand what you were going through with your husband. Mine was laid off last year for about 7 months & we didn't qualify for any of the unemployment extensions. :sad2: He's been with the same employer for over 10 years now...so it was a big change for him. It was tough but we got through it! I am a stay-at-home mom but I also do online sales part-time so we were lucky to have some income (we also were prepared for this with a savings as you had...I completely understand the importance of having that!) He actually was called back to work about a month ago, so things are looking good again! :) BUT my point was...that I am super glad that things worked out so well for your husband & he has a position he really enjoys now AND is able to be home with his family! That's the most important thing!

Second of all...what was that policeman thinking??? I was laughing hysterically...I was picturing in my mind two older ladies with rifles...:lmao:

Seriously??? I just don't understand why the police would have questioned them. I feel badly they were held up for 4 hours & he didn't believe them. :sad2: Thank goodness the other officer believed them & let them go!!! Thanks for sharing the story with all of us!

Hey all!! :yay:

Sorry I've been MIA lately! The weather has been nice and so we've been playing outside much more. Unfortunately, today it is cold and rainy again. :sad1: We've also all had colds around here and on Sunday, I went to the emergency room with severe pain on the right side of my lower back. Turns out I had a kidney stone! YIKES and OUCH!! Luckily, the docs gave me a shot of Torodol (sp??) and I have felt MUCH better ever since. :thumbsup2

On to the vacation update....

I think we have decided to leave a day early. We are thinking of flying out on Friday afternoon around 5:30pm which gets us into MCO around 8pm. I know it sounds like a waist of a Disney day, but we are thinking of doing this for 2 reasons.
1) They usually tape the Disney Christmas parade that first weekend of December, so if we get in on Friday night we could go to the parade taping on Sat. morning (of we get tickets). Fun and a new experience for us.

2) We usually fly out super early on Sat morning, like 6:30am which means we are up at 4:30am and at the airport around 5:15am. This makes for an exhausting first day because when we get to Disney our room isn't usually ready until after 3pm. Without a nap, we are all a little cranky and ready to pass out when we get in the room, but because of the excitement of being at Disney, we usually just suck it up and keep on trucking! It would be nice to get in Friday night, relax and enjoy the resort for a while then get a good nights sleep so we are ready to get our Disney on!
If we do arrive on Fri instead of Sat, we have an extra 3 food credits each (DxDP). Holy cow! Actually those would be great for the mornings we just want something to eat from Roaring Forks at WL or another signature restaurant.

I swear there was something else that I was going to talk about, but I just can't remember! :confused3 I'm sure it will come to me!

Anyway, I hope you are all having a great week! Now I need to get off of this computer and clean this family room. All of the toys from the playroom have migrated in here again. :headache:

Hey Wendy! Don't blame you for wanting to fly in on Friday evening, just not having to get up and fly at the crack of down is worth it to me! It would be so cool to be there when they tape the parade too. :goodvibes: Those three extra dining credits would be great too!

Ahh, your toys migrate too? Amazing--they do here too! :rotfl2:

Flying out the night before sounds like a great plan. My girls would love to attend the parade taping. They are big time into the teen Disney stars and usually at least one or two of them put on a concert during the parade.

Looks so fun Wendy! Your decorations are too cute. Little Eva with her crown is too precious. :lovestruc

We did a P&TF night tonight and I tried and tried to get the girls to let me make some real New Orleans cuisine and they just wouldn't have it. I got a lot of "YUCK MOMMA!". :lmao:

Hey Wendy!!
I posted on FB but I will post here too! I loved your P&F Night! I am so happy that you guys are having these nights and that your family loves them. Owen says to me every other day, "Momma, is today Dizney Night??" :lovestruc

I really think arriving on the Friday would be great. We like you guys, always get the first flight out and the entire day is wasted, waiting for your room! Arriving late afternoon, room ready and have the night to adjust and relax sounds REALLY good.... I am going to think about that for us too. I know one thing... I AM NOT planning the night before the trip getting a hotel room near the airport again!

Hey Leanne! Congrats on DVC! We hope to become DVC members someday too although, Mike says he doesn't mind renting points from owners and letting them be responsible for annual fees etc.. ;)

I was afraid Emily wouldn't want to eat jambalaya, but she was so excited about the night and she helped me make it so she took 2 bites of the rice and said she liked it, "but it's spicy"!! She ate plenty of the salad and cornbread though!

We had fun and can't wait until the next one!

Hi Nickie! We had a great night and I owe it all to you!! Your Disney nights always look so fun, I just had to start them for us. I think these nights are what are kids will remember when they are older and maybe they'll even have them with their own kiddies. OMG, can you imagine that we will probably be Grandma's some day!!

We're pretty sure that we are leaving Friday night so we get a fresh start on Saturday. I think we'll use 2 of our extra 3 food credits to order pizza in our room that night. :thumbsup2

We went to the Disney store today after visiting Emily's favorite person in the world, my Dad! Her and Grandpa are BFF's!! Too cute!

Anyway, after Grandpa's, we headed to the Disney store (actually, it's a Disney outlet) and managed to buy the place out! We got some new housewares, an Alice stuffed doll, Dug and Bolt stuffies, a Cinderella dress and tiara, a Thumper stuffie and onsie for Eva, an UP Hawaiian type shirt for Mike and this beauty.....(the dress, not the girl..we already had her!!:rotfl:)

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/DSC055592.jpg

She makes an adorable Minnie Mouse if you ask me.....which you didn't ask me, but I'm telling you anyway!!

On to trip news.....

Well, there really isn't any! I called Disney again to see if I had a PIN yet, but no luck there! Here's hoping for a great code or a great discount to be offered for December. I wouldn't complain if they offered free dining or b4g3 again!! :yay:

In May 2007, on Emily's 1st visit to Disney World, we bought her a glow toy because Mike can't pass one of those carts without buying something! :rotfl: Anyway, Emily was only 10 months old so I wanted something that we could turn on and it would stay on, something that didn't spin around and hurt her and something that would be ok if she put it in her mouth amd this is what we ended up buying for $10-$15.

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/wand.jpg

As you can see, it still works and we have taken it to Disney every year since!! It has about 15 different light sequences and turns all different colors. Emily thinks it's Leo's wand from Little Einstiens! pixiedust:
Just thought I would share!

Finally, here is Emily in her new Cinderella dress! princess:

We went to the Disney store at Great Lakes Crossing in Auburn Hills. My Mom is buried in Clarkston, where I grew up, and her b-day was Thursday so we made a trip to the cemetery, then visited my Dad and hit the mall! I'm not sure if you're familiar with that area,:confused3 but Clarkston is just northwest of Auburn Hills.

Anyway, I can't wait to start walking. Hopefully the weather will be nice!

Good idea to avoid MK on the 4th! That will be a nut house since the parade is being taped that day! In 2008 we went to DHS the day the parade was taped and it was great!

I am so jealous that you are staying at WL!!! That is my dream resort!!! Maybe in an awwesome deal is released I can upgrade!!! My fingers and toes are crossed!

Hi Wendy, I followed you from DevonsDisneyMom's PTR. Thanks to the links I am all caught up.

I love your writing style. The first pictures of Eva are wonderful. I loved the second one, it looked like she was smiling. Both your children are just gorgeous.
I love the bracelet you made, it is beautiful.

The Disney outlet dresses are adorable :goodvibes.

As for pin codes do you ever log into the Disney website, price out vacations and save the offers? I seem to get pin codes sometimes after I do that. It is worth a shot, although I feel like you do they will offer some type of discount.

Thanks for mentioning the parade taping, we arrive on the 1st and have a DISmeet/dinner planned at Whispering Canyon Cafe on the 5th. We were planning on going to MK that day, but I had forgotten all about the parade taping. My lovely boyfriend is in a power wheelchair and the crowds being what they are on parade taping days  we will probably pick another park.

Thanks for the kind words about the girls! We think they are pretty cute too! :cutie:

I've done all of the tricks trying to get a PIN, but nothing yet. Luckily, there is plenty of time before our trip to get a discount so my fingers are crossed.

I've heard that the MK isn't that busy during the parade taping other than Main Street and the hub, but it probably would be difficult for Bill to manuver the crowds in his chair. We are hoping to get tickets for the taping just to experience something different! :santa:

Hi Jill!! Our Disney store closed back in February, which totally bummed me out, but we do have the outlet and another store about an hour away. The outlet is near where I grew up and where my family still lives. In fact, my Grandma is coming home from Florida at the end of the month and she hasn't met Eva yet, so I will be making another trip that way to see her. I may or may not be stopping by the Disney store then too!! :rolleyes1

As I told Nickie and Connie...maybe you'll have granddaughters to dress up in princess gear!!:lovestruc I guess you guys could always throw a princess dress on your boys when they are sleeping and then take pictures!! That just wouldn't be the same!! :lmao:

Hey Wendy!
I typed up a long reply this morning and then my computer went blank! :scared1:

But basically here are my thoughts:

Awesome on getting there on Friday. I think your first night idea sounds so relaxing and fun! My kids LOVE getting pizza delivery in Disney!

Have you considered breakfast at the Wave instead of Kona?? You can tell me to shut up :rotfl2: but.... i had such a yucky experience at Kona in January and the boat to CR from WL is so convenient and I have heard GREAT things about the Wave's breakfast! Just a thought for you!!

Did you hear that Jo Jo and Goliath are being replaced at Play n Dine!? I wonder if there will be new people when you go!!! i am so excited to hear who they are replaced with!

I also can't wait to hear how the Illuminations viewing from the new Cantina in Mexico is!!! Most of the family arrives on Saturday and we are all going to Epcot for dinner on the first night and eating there and will be watching Illuminations from there so I cant wait to hear from you on what you think of it!

Love the Cali Grill and Artist Point!!

You do need a parade ticket, but they are free. I think they are offered to AP holders first, then general public.

I'm hoping for luck at MM too! If not, we'll probably just wait in line or skip it if the line is too long. We've seen it before and we can always see it again next October!:yay:

We had a great night! I LOVE UP!! Mike had never seen it and I had to pass him the tissues a couple of times, but he loved it! Eva is just enamored by the balloons! She was staring at them and cracking up! It was so cute!!:lovestruc:cutie:

Next Disney night will be Alice in Wonderland!

P.S. Stay tuned for more exciting updates and maybe a game of Quidditch!!:wizard:

Hi Connie! Mike found that shirt on clearance at the Disney outlet! He had to have it and I had to agree!!:thumbsup2 I'm looking forward to Alice in Wonderland too because Emily has never seen it and I haven't seen it in a long time!

Hey Reese! We have fun doing our Disney nights! Emily can't wait for the next one! :lovestruc

I'll make sure to keep my eyes open for you and Devon around the parks!

I'm trying to tweek my schedule right now to include US/IOA. DH and I are both Harry Potter fans (geeks) and can't wait to see the Wizarding World of Harry Potter! :wizard: You're planning on US/IOA too, aren't you?

:idea::confused3HELP!!!:confused3:idea:

We have decided to go to US/IOA :hyper:while in Florida because Mike and I are both Harry Potter fans (dorks) and we really want to see the new :stir: Wizarding World of Harry Potter!!:wizard: So my delima is when to go! So, should we go at the:

1) Beginning? We would fly out earlier (10am) on Friday, Dec 3rd, rent a car at MCO and drive to the Holiday Inn at Universal Studios where we would stay for 2 nights with Mike's Priority Club points. (free hotel=:woohoo:) We would go to US/IOA on Friday afternoon and all day Saturday then on Sunday morning we'd check into the WL and return our car to the rental place at the Dolphin and begin our WDW adventure through Sunday, Dec. 12th. If we choose this option, we would forgo the Christmas Parade taping :sad1:.

2) Middle? We would call for a Mears shuttle/taxi to take us to US/IOA for the day and then have them bring us back. we'd keep our original plan of flying out Friday afternoon (3pm or 5:30pm), but leave a day later on Sunday, Dec.12th. This would cost us more money because of the extra night at the WL and I'm not sure that one day is enough for US/IOA. Mike and I went about 10 years ago and we were able to hit everything at both parks in a day, but we didn't have kids then so we skipped all of the kiddie type rides which we would want to go on this time.

3) End? This would be just like the beginning, but US/IOA would be at the end of our vacation. We would fly out earlier on Friday, Dec 3rd and get our Disney groove on until Friday, Dec. 10th, when we would pick up our rental car at the Dolphin, stay 2 nights at the Holiday Inn (free). We'd go to US/IAO on Friday and Saturday then check out Sunday, Dec 12th, drop our rental car off at MCO and fly home. This options means we wouldn't end our vacation with Disney. :sad1:

Your thoughts are greatly appreciated!!

My vote is for the middle. I think renting a car would be a pain in the ... :rolleyes1 I also think because I know you love Disney like I do, that you really need to start and end your trip with Disney! I hear that mears is around 15 per person round trip so for the 3 of you (Eva being free) it would be about $45.00 and then you don't have to deal with any driving or renting the car... and you get an extra night- so actually you will have 2 extra nights at Disney now! :cloud9: The cost of renting the car and then paying for food vs the cost of being at disney an extra night on the dining plan and adding in the mears shuttle  What do you think that is??? Even if it ends up being a little more maybe it is still worth it with the baby and all to make your trip as convenient as possible this time!!

I wanted to add that Chris and his girls (Wayne's Brother) is arriving a day earlier than us... on Thursday... he plans a relaxing night on Thursday- boat and dinner in DTD and then on Friday morning they will take the mears bus to Universal for the Harry Potter thing... and then Mears will take him back to POFQ on Friday night. If you do end up using that route, you will have to let me know all about it so I can tell him!!

I like the first idea with the FREE NIGHTS and the added time in US/IOA. Do you really need a vehicle if you go this route. Does HI have a bus service to US(most of the hotels do)? and how much would it cost for a taxi or car from the airport? than to WDW? or is it cheaper to just rent a small car?
I like the third option, too! but which one means more the taping of the Christmas parade or ending with Disney...
This is our first year we are ending w/US/IOA and not Disney...I'm the only one who is going to mind it...but, we have better digs at the end of our trip than at WDW. :rolleyes1

Yay for Harry Potter!!! :wizard: I am a huge fan too!!! We are planning of going to IOA too just for HP!! This will be the first time we leave Disney to go there! I am so excited! We are planning on using the middle option you wrote about. I priced it out and it would be like $30 each way for a taxi from Disney property.

Hey Nickie! I was thinking of doing US/IOA in the middle of our trip, but they are only open until 7pm and we would need 2 days to see everything because we have not been there in 10 years. Mears is $35/person roundtrip (taxi is the same), but Mike's a member of the National Car Emerald Club and has enough rewards for 2 free days so we are only paying $20 for car seats. I think we are going to start our vacation at US/IOA and end at Disney! We're getting really excited!! :yay:

Hi Wendy (again)!

Definitely sounds like a plan to me! :goodvibes: I love your Up night--so cute!

I think it will be good to begin your trip with US/IOA and end with Disney! :woohoo: From a TR I read from not long ago, make sure you buy your tickets online--they are MUCH more expensive in person at US/IOA. I am sad you are missing the parade tapping but this seems like too good of an opportunity to pass up.

Do you know how to get the parade taping tickets? If I can get them then we'll go in December too since we're only 3 hours away. Your new plan sounds great! Personally, I would wait to do Universal and IOA there really isn't a whole lot for little kids there, especially babies. I would wait another year and spend more time in Disney this year, but that is just my 2 cents.

Ni Hao Stephanie! I will definitely be purchasing our tickets online, I think you can save $10-$15 per ticket online! I'm a little bummed about the parade taping too, but I guess tickets aren't that readily available so it was a long shot anyway!

Caio! Emily is a great name!! I'm not sure how to get the parade tickets. I think they are offered to AP holders first then offered to the general public. :confused3 I thought about waiting to go to US/IOA because there isn't much Eva will be able to do. but Emily is almost 42 inches and can ride some of the big kid rides, plus US/IOA is more for Mike and I!:woohoo:

It is hard to remember even just a couple years back... when Owen turned two we thought "myles was talking so much more..." then we went back and heard a video... and they were the same!

I saw this inflatable movie screen at target.com. Wouldn't this be fun to watch movies on during our Disney nights, especially in the summer when you could set it up in the back yard!?!

I have seen that and was tempted!! We went to a friend of Myles house and they had a screen in the backyard, and we all sat around in beach chairs... we watched Bolt. It was really nice. I would love to get something like that so we could do that here. Wayne loves his big tv though!!

Tonight we enjoyed an Alice and Wonderland themed Disney night. On the menu: Queen of Hearts sandwiches (PB&J, turkey & chicken salad), Cheshire Cat smiles (cantalope wedges), White Rabbit's favorite snack (carrot sticks w/ ranch dressing), Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum cheese Mickeys and a Mad Hatter Un-Birthday cake!

We decorated the dining room like a garden party with tissue paper flowers, paper lanterns and butterflies!

Hey Nickie! It's so funny how alike and different they can be! Fortunately, they are/were both great babies! Very go with the flow, rarely cry and sleep great! My poor niece has a 9 month old boy who is still up every 2 hours then up for the day at 5:30am! :scared1: I would be a very cranky Momma if my girls we like that!!

I can't believe Eva will be 4 months on Friday either. Although, she is so small it's like having a 2 month old still! :cutie:

Waiting to see Robin Hood & Toy Story nights!:rolleyes1

Oh my goodness I am in adorable overload!! Both of them are gorgeous in those pictures and are so lucky to have those amazing blue eyes. They grow so fast don't they? Thanks for sharing with us.

Thanks!! They do have some big blue eyes! They get those from my Mom!

Yes, they grow up WAY too fast. :sad1: I can't believe I'm already planning Emily's 4th birthday! It's like she was born yesterday. It won't be long until I'm planning her 16th birthday!

PLOP! She fell right on top of the Merry Un-Birthday cake!!:scared1::rotfl::lmao::eek:

so happy to find your PTR! we are going at the same time!!! although now that you have add-on-itis (who doesn't!), you are staying a bit longer than us! :goodvibes:wizard: we ended up adding on 2 days to our last trip too! funny how that happens, isn't it? :rotfl: this year, we have our flights already booked and gotta stick to the 4-11th. Plus my inlaws are driving down 2 hours from OK the night before.

We will be at our new home- BLT Dec 4-11th with our 3yo son and my in laws.

Anyhow- loving your PTR so far!! so much likes us. We just went last December with my entire extended family and stayed at WL- it was gorgeous, you will absolutely love it!!! I have a TR in my sig from that trip if you want to see pics.

I have our itin already going too- i wish DEC hours would be released! so ready to formally plan our ADRs. LIke you, we are doing MVMCP (on the 9th though) and i'd like to try the new Mexican restaurant for Illuminations seating. DH wants to do the WISHES dessert party again if they have it (and whatever WISHES may be called by then if it doesn't come back after the summer).

and LovE the parties- my mom also did themed parties for us last year prior to our Dec trip. We had a Peter Pan party, we had games like pin the tail on the crocodile, throwing crocs in a basket etc. And themed food like you! Plus she gave disney dollar prizes (there were 14 of us going). We also did an Alice unbirthday party too- with a huge cake and games too- and a tea party! so fun. even more funny when you know out of the 14 of us, only 3 are children and 2 of those are boys. :rotfl::confused3:rotfl:

Anyhow- gorgeous family- your girls are just too cute! I can't wait to read more and am subscribed!! perhaps our paths will cross at some point in the trip. we know our itineraries will change a million times more though of course!!! Can't wait to join your adventure!!!!:santa::santa:

We had add-on-itis last year too! We were upgraded to CL MK view for the room only part of our vacation which was stunning!

I've been over to your PTR, but haven't posted yet, I will soon, I promise!;)

Today we woke up nice and early to a beautiful sunny warm day! We all got ready and headed to our first TS meal on on the DxDP, Chef Mickey's!

We were in the Tahiti longhouse at the Poly, which is closer to the TTC than the Grand Ceremonial House so we walked over there to catch the resort Monorail to CR!

We got to ride in the front of the Monorail and I'm so happy we had that experience since they don't allow it anymore.

After a great day at Epcot, the sun was blazing and it was time to head back to the Poly for a dip in the pool and to get ready for the Spirit of Aloha show!

When Wishes concluded, we went back to our room and got a good night's sleep for another great Disney day tomorrow!

Wendy,
Thanks - yes the boys have spoiled me all day. I am glad to hear your day was great too!! OMG that picture of Emily and her daddy on the beach watching Wishes is so precious. I hope that one is enlarged and framed in your house!!! I think I am going to make a note to try to capture a picture like that one..... :goodvibes

Wendy great recap! you sound like me with the ice cream...the only good thing about Ashton he can't stand to be sticky...but both of her swirliy's make such cute pictures especially the one on the monorail! and I love the picture on the beach the only thing that could have made it more...would have been her hand on top of her dad's...I hope you have that one framed!

edit: Wendy just re-read your PTR title...you may want to update it for little EVA!:goodvibes

Urgh, I've been trying to post this all day, but I keep getting interupted by kids and husbands! Well, one husband, not husbands, that would be illegal!!!:rotfl:

Anywho, I want to say Happy 8th Anniversary to my handsome and amazing husband, Mike! You are my best friend and the best daddy to our precious girls! I love, love, love you!

Sunday, May 10, 2009!
Today was a very special day! Mike and I were married May 10, 2002, so we we're celebrating our 7th anniversary on this day and it happened to fall on Mother's Day last year! This may be TMI, but according to Eva's due date, this was also the day she was conceived! :rolleyes1 Who knew this magical day would turn out to be the most magical 9 months later!!!

Anyway, let's get on with the show! We had an early morning ADR at Crystal Palace so we could get some empty park shots, gotta love that!!

After breakfast, we headed to Adventureland where we met:
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2010/Image0588.jpg

Jasmine and Aladdin were great with Emily! They were our best character interaction of the trip! They talked to Emily for about 15 minutes!

We toured the rest of Adventureland, Frontierland, Liberty Square and headed to Fantasyland! Here is Emily's MeeMee riding IASW!!

Next, it was time for our ADR at the Plaza, which couldn't have come at a better time! We were sweltering! We made it through the Move it, Shake it parade and checked in at the Plaza, just in time to see Wayne, Myles and Owen (my2disneyboys DH & DS's)heading into the restaurant. I stopped him to say a quick "Yo, what up?" and waited to meet Nickie (my2disneyboys) when our name was called. We sat down, placed our order, then chatted with Nickie! Her and I would be BFF's if we lived closer!

When lunch was over, we headed back to the Poly for a nice swim and nap, boy, was it HOT!

While we were napping, we decided to treat ourselves for our anniversary and upgrade to a lagoon view room. We called the front desk and before we knew it we were moving across the hall and on our balcony staring at this:

Monday, May 11, 2009!
This morning, we headed to DHS to ride TSM for the 1st time! I was sooooo excited to ride this and I was not disappointed! We all LOVED it & can't wait to ride again in December.

After TSM, we stopped by the Starring Rolls Cafe for some breakfast:
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2011/414.jpg

Next, we were off to see Playhouse Disney Live, Little Mermaid, TOT, RnR. We met Handy Manny, June, Lightning McQueen & Mater and afterwards, I was on the hunt for the elusive umbrella!

It was getting hot and we were hungry so we headed to our lunch ADR at Sci-Fi! Yummy burgers & shakes!!
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2011/271.jpg

Today was a scorcher so after lunch, we went back to the Poly to swim and cool down. Unfortunately, as we approached the pool it was being evacuated due to a poop bandit!!:scared1: Even scarier, the quiet pool had also been evacuated because of pooh!
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2011/441.jpg

We played in the at the beach & fountains instead!

Tuesday, May 12, 2009!
We started the day with a Monorail ride to Epcot for a 10am ADR at Akerhaus to see the princesses! Along our way, we said "Hi" to:

and
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2012/477.jpg

We stopped in Innoventions (I can't remember if it was East or West) to make paper!
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2012/483.jpg

Soon it was time to check in for our ADR! Here's a pic of Mike while we are waiting for our name to be called:

Finally, we were called in to see:
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2012/Image0754.jpg

Loving your daily recap from last year! Boy oh boy, does Emily ever know how to cop a feel of those Princesses!:rotfl2:

2 poop bandits in one day? :scared1: Someone took "dropping the kids at the pool" literally, I guess;)

We leave in 3 weeks and are really hoping for minimal rain! We have not seen a drop in the last 4 trips, and I have a feeling our luck will end this trip!

This morning we had a photo shoot scheduled at 10am at the Poly! I was lucky enough to still get the $25 deal with the pre-purchase of the Photopass CD!

Emily enjoyed the first 5 minutes, then didn't want to have her pic taken anymore! Toddlers, what are you gonna do!?!:confused3

After the photoshoot, we went back to the room to change and headed to AK where we had a mini DIS meet with Brandi (BridetobeDisney) & Brad and their son Tyson, Amber (bertegirl) & Jason and their kids Jenny and Austin and Kara (kgle or toddlers mom) and her son Rylan!

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2013/582.jpg

The kiddos were instant friends, especially Jenny & Emily!

After parting ways, we headed to Tusker House for lunch. This is Mike's favorite buffet on property. I thought it was ok, but the only reason I booked it was for the Finding Nemo priority seating. We had never seen the show before because the line is always soooo long. The show was fantastic though, we had been missing out all these years!
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2013/705.jpg

Once we departed from Nemo, the park was starting to empty out and cool down a bit. AK always seems about 20 degrees hotter than the other parks, phew! It was EMH's tonight so we headed to Everest where we ran into Amber & Jason again. Mike and Jason rode together, then Amber and I got to ride! I love roller coasters and EE never disappoints!:scared1:

Our next stop was the Safari which was fun! We saw lots of animals, even the elusive lions!!

Finally, with rumblies in our tumblies, we left AK and headed to AKL for dinner at Jiko.

We are definitely staying at the AKL in the near future. What a beautiful resort!

And that my friends, was the end of another magical day at Disney! Ooh, I almost forgot, we caught a bus back to MK so we could take the boat or monorail to the Poly and as our buss was approaching the gates to the MK, a car totally cut off our bus and we were almost in an accident! Fun stuff!

Oh yeah, one more thing...Happy Anniversary Brandi & Brad!

Great updates!! I am really enjoying reading about your previous trip. It is amazing how young Emily looks compared to how she looks now. :goodvibes

Sure, you got sleep on your Anniversary night...:rolleyes1 That's why Eva is around today. :rotfl: j/j

What a view from your second Poly room!

I have to say that is one thing I am least looking forward to my trip in September--the heat! :scared1: I remember from our trip in May, that it was warm but I guess September is even worst (or at least the humidity levels are).

I am glad we live close so we can get together!! The girls love playing together. Lilian asks when she gets to see Emily. :goodvibes Hopefully someday we can travel to Disney together, or be there at the same at least. :goodvibes

Awwwww, my cute little baby!!

Anyway, let's get on with the show....

Thursday, May 14, 2009!
Today we had to check out and check back in because we had 2 reservations for this trip. First the b4g3 deal and then the last three nights were booked room only with a 40% off deal. When we originally checked in, we asked to stay in the same room for both ressies and was told that shouldn't be a problem, but when I went to the front desk to check back in, I was told our new room was in the Hawaii Longhouse with a MK view! Whaaaaaaaa? Now, if any of you are familiar with the Poly, you know that the Hawaii bldg is only Concierge Level! Plus a MK view, how could we resist? I told the CM that we needed more time to get packed up because we had a 10am CRT ressie (it was 9am at this time). She extended our check out time to 1pm, gave us our new room keys and we headed to the MK with smiles on our faces (although we forgot the camera in all of the excitement, had to use our phones)! Here we met Manderella or Cinderfella, whichever you prefer! (she was a little manly!:rotfl:)
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2014/Image0935.jpg

Emily was kissed by Belle!
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2014/128.jpg

After breakfast, we went back to the Poly to pack up. We called Bell Services to come and get our bags and headed to the Hawaii Longhouse with a grin from ear to ear! See the YELLOW kttw card!
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2014/779.jpg

When we walked into our room, this is what we saw:

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2014/834.jpg

After checking out our draw dropping view, we went to see the concierge lounge! Having the CL was great because we were no longer on a dining plan so eating the free CL food really helped us save money! I will say though, I would never pay for CL, totally not worth the extra $$$$$! I will, however, take any free upgrades to CL that Disney wants to give us!!:thumbsup2

So, once we came down from our upgrade high, we headed back to the MK where it started to drizzle.

We realized after getting off Maelstrom that we'd lost MeeMee!:scared1: We went back to Germany, the last place we remember having her with us and looked and looked and looked. We were all getting very sad at this point because MeeMee was not only Emily's lovey, but a part of our family. :sad1: Finally, we made it back to Norway and as I turned my head for one last look, I saw her, sitting atop a fence post where some other parent must have realized how loved MeeMee was and put it there for us to find! Thank GOD, because that was the last of the MeeMee's. We used to have 3 MeeMee's in rotation, but 2 of them had been lost (one was lost at Target the night before we left) Anyway, we all felt relieved to have MeeMee back with us!

Oh, and did you know that the bridge between China and the African Outpost is a drawbridge? That's how they bring out the Illuminations stuff! I saw it for the first time this night! I thought it was cool that I had never realized this before!:thumbsup2

I forgot to tell you that Mike had fun drinking around the world and managed to do it without getting sick  by pacing himself! He took all night to conquor this, but we saw some people who were practically running from country to country for their drinks. I can't imagine how they were feeling afterwards!:confused3

Great updates! Wendy
what wonderful memories from last May! Emily is so cute with all the characters but my favorite picture was the one where she is dancing "off Kilter" I believe that was your phrase...to sweet!

Wendy- you will have to copy and paste these last few updates into your trip report!! CL looks awesome! I wouldnt pay for it either.... we have too many must have places to eat at so it I think it wouldnt be saving us any money! Great pics- I love the one of Emily and Mike sitting (in Minnie's house?) I am totally going to have to get a picture of my kids trying Beverly and the rest of the gang who knows nothing about it... :rotfl2:

I'm sorry that I missed yesterday's post, but it was a crazy day. It started with me and the girls heading to my SIL's house to make pierogis. We made 172 pierogis then we scarfed them down! Afterward, we had to take Emily to the dress rehersal so I am going to combine May 16 & 17 because we left early on the 17th and there isn't much to tell. However, I wanted to share a few pictures from Emily's dance recital dress rehersal yesterday.

May 16 & 17, 2009!
Today we woke up and went to the MK again. We always start and end our vacations with MK, it's a tradition!! We decided we would let Emily pick the rides we went on today, so the 1st, 2nd & 3rd rides were Goofy's Barnstormer!:rotfl:
http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj64/wlwilliams9/May%2016/1036.jpg

I think we also went on the Cinderella's Golden Carousel, IASW, Peter Pan, HM, Pirates Aladdin, Dumbo and Carousel of Progress.

We spotted this guy on the CoP!

Mike and I took turns riding Splash Mountain, one of our favorites!! At this point it was about 2pm so we headed back to the Poly to relax!

As Wishes was concluding, I heard Emily making some wierd noises, she was sleeping at the time, so I went in the room to find her barfing all over herself.:scared1: We freaked because this was at the height of Swine Flu! She wasn't running a fever and slept pretty well, but had a hard time keeping water down the next morning. We were catching DME at 9:30am and wasn't sure if they would let her on the flight sick, but fortunately she was feeling better by the time we got to the airport. We chalked that episode up to the excess of Yoo Hoo and gummie sharks in the concierge lounge.:rotfl2:

Anyway, on the 17th, we got up, took DME to the airport and flew home.:sad2: I was feeling the Disney blues for the next week. I was super tired and just wanted to sleep for hours. Finally, a week after we returned home, I decided to take a preganacy test and WHAAAAAAAA? Next thing you know, we have Eva!:lovestruc

The End!

Emily is just so adorable. It is AMAZING how much she has grown this year. Myles grew so much too between the ages of 3 to 4... it is a big year for sure. We had Owen too during that time and I think that aged him some too. Thanks for sharing your great pics and FINISHING your trip report. :rotfl:

So today I start week 2 on C25K! I am a little scared. Week one was hard and I thought maybe I need to repeat it. LOL:rotfl2: I have a feeling that this "9 week Program" is going to take me the whole 17 months to complete... Don't worry I will be ready by next October!!

It only took me a year, but I finished the TR!!! I'm a total slacker!:lmao:

I can't wait to start the C25K! I went looking for running shoes this weekend and found a pair, but the 10 was too small and the 11 was too big so I had to order a 10.5! As soon as I get them, I am starting! My feet grew a size and a half when I was preggers with Emily. My old running shoes are a size 9!! I downloaded some C25K music that tells you when to walk and when to run! I think the program will take me more than 9 weeks too, but we'll see! I'm actually looking forward to doing this because we are doing it together and are going to be running the 5K together! It will be so fun if a bunch of us run & trick or treat together!

Oh, I'll send you a PM with the DVC info. You can get DDP & tickets through the renter, but you don't get free dining with DVC. You'll have to price out both DVC & free dining to see which will be most cost effective for you guys! I'm assuming that FD will happen again next year and the dates will probably be through 10/1 so if you check in before 10/1, you get FD for the entire week! :cool1:

I changed my Oct ticker to show our new dates!! I can't wait!!:woohoo:

Hey all! Thanks for indulging me while I flashed back to last years trip! It was fun to remember all of the fun things we did as a family of 3!! Emily looked so little last year! It's amazing how much she has grown!:cutie: We can't wait to visit Disney as a family of 4!! I hope we can brainwash, I mean, I hope Eva loves WDW as much as the rest of us! How can she not, it's in her blood and her whole existance "was all started with a mouse!":rotfl:

On to the current Disney planning!!! I have been thinking about not going to US/IOS. I've been reading some reports that "Pooh" sized people won't fit on the Enchanted Bench for the new Forbidden Journey ride at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. :scared1: The whole reason we want to go to US/IOA is for WWoHP and if we can't ride the most anticipated attraction, then it won't really be worth it. I'm going to wait and see what people are reporting after the ride opens and make plans for both going to US and not.

I'm kinda thinking we might just go to Sea World instead. I know Mike and Emily would LOVE that!

I'm also getting excited because......

:cool1:18 days until I can make our ADRs!!!:cool1:

OMG, I have to tell you this true story that I heard the other day!!

A friend of ours has a friend who has an 18 year old son who is on the Autism spectrum. His Mom was at a friend's house for a couple of hours and kept calling home to make sure that her son was OK. At one point when she called to check in her son picks up the phone and says, "I caught a troll!" and hangs up. Confused, the mom calls back a few seconds later and the son answers and says, "He's in the closet!" and hangs up again so a little scared the mom calls again and the son says, "He can't get out!" and hangs up one more time. At this point the mom is freaking and immediately leaves for home. As she pulled onto her street, she sees police cars and ambulance outside her house, so now she is totally FREAKED!:scared1:

It turns out that a census taker, who happend to be a little person, had come to the door and the boy grabbed him and locked him in the closet thinking he caught himself a troll! :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl::laughing:

Fortunately, the census taker did not press charges because he understood the boys condition, but also because door-to-door census takers are supposed to be out in pairs and this man was out on his own.

I guess he called the police with his cell phone from the locked closet!!

18 Days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cool1::banana::thumb sup2 I am so excited to make the ADR's!!!!!! Our date is July 31st. We are actually going to the cape for the week and I found out the house has internet access so I am so excited.... what a way to complete the week! I think I need a reminder of what you are booking.

That is crazy about Universal... why would they ever build a brand new attraction and not make it for "pooh sized people" :confused3

I am so excited you are going to do the C25K!!!! AND that we are both going to be in Disney again together!!!! I need to ask Wayne to get that music on my IPOD for me... I am clueless when it comes to that stuff.... I have been using a stop watch LOL:rotfl2:

Hey Wendy! I know I am down to 17 days for ADR's I can't believe how quick time is going!!!

As far as US/IOA I hope that is the not the case. I can't wait to hear full reports when it officially opens. Harry Potter is the whole reason we are going too in Dec.!!!

OMG the troll story was too funny!!! :lmao: Poor kid!

(lost my post...try this again)

Wendy that story is too funny...it was really nice of the guy not to press charges and understand; but, I bet he was scared!
I hope he can get a good laugh from it after he is able to calm down...but, I bet he finds a buddy to walk the streets with next time!

Great ending to your TR! I bet you guys have the most beautiful souvie any one has had the blessing to take home from Disney!!!

Emily is a gorgeous dancer! I remember for Gwendolyn's first recitial I cried the entire time...I don't think it had anything to do with the fact that I was in labor for Dayne and had no business climbing all those steps...

and one more note: I can not believe to hear that about HP! Danny had a few rides he had to have special seating for because of his height but was not told he could not ride...(the Simpson's he had to ride in the front seat==poor us; and he said if he gained any weight at all there were a few rollercoasters in both parks that he was pretty close to with ht and wt--Space MTn was one of them)...I can't wait to read what people think about it...I wonder if the soft opening weekends have started it should be soon...

Good luck on the C25K. I downloaded several podcasts...Carli's I think onto my Ipod. I bought an app for the Iphone when I got it that will use my playlists for the music. It's a lot easier to do the program when you can listen to your music or good music anyway and have audible cues on when to run and when to walk. :goodvibes

I will be starting again as soon as we get back from Disney so hopefully we can all work together and meet the goal. Hope you all don't mind that I invited myself!

If we don't chat between now and then, have a great week Wendy!!!

Great update!! And the dance pics are oh so cute:cutie:

I posted on Nickie's thread that I am SO SO SO sad about the 5K-I may see if I can make a weekend trip happen...My cousin gets married in Cali in October, and we go to WDW in Nov-so I don't know if I can do it. I am so tempted! Why is Minnesota so far away from everything??? I really want to do the EE Challenge next June, too! I can't believe you are pushing a stroller while you are doing the C25K:scared1: You are going to have an awesome upper body going on if you do that the whole time! Where can I find me some kids to push in a stroller around here:idea:

I have changed my ADR's a million times, and we are leaving in 2 weeks. I am still trying to get into an early Tusker House on our AK day-no luck so far. I have Boma booked as a back up. Have you eaten there? I don't remember!

Tonight we had our Muppet Movie night! It was a little low key tonight because I was at the pediatric ER with Emily earlier. She has croup!:scared1: I hate that hoarse cough, poor baby!

Anyway, I planned on just making something simple for dinner because Emily wanted Spagettios, but when I walked in the door, I was so surprised!! Mike was cooking our Muppet food! We had Swedish Chef swedish meatballs, Gonzo's green beans with Miss Piggy bacon, Dr. Honeydew melon and Kermit's Rainbow Connection cake. We were going to make Miss Piggy's in a blanket, but again, Emily wanted Spagettio's and it was nearly 9 pm at this point!!

For our activity, we went for a walka, walka, walka!! Get it, Fozzy, woka, woka, woka!! Ha ha, I crack myself up!!:rotfl2:

Good morning Wendy!
I hope Emily is feeling better today!! I love that cake! I wish I had thought of that when we had our night.... I think I did green pudding pie. The Muppet night was one of our all time favorite Disney Nights. I think we will have to do that one again soon.

I need to bring my jogging stroller to a bike shop or something.... the wheels both need to be replaced. I think I used it 2 times! :scared1:

I really do think that week 2 is easier. The music helps alot and a flat surface really helps. I was doing it around my neighborhood which is all hills and it was AWFUL! I think with the stroller and the extra 50 pounds you are going to be getting a double workout for sure! If it gets too much then maybe you could try going at night after mike gets home?? Everyone needs a little "me" time!!

Well, I think we have decided to go to Sea World instead of Universal. We're not sure if Mike will be able to fit on the new Forbidden Journey ride at WWoHP because he has such broad, bulky shoulders. The whole reason we were going to US/IOA was for WWoHP, but we don't want to spend the money if he can't ride. I think Emily & Eva will like sea World better anyway! Our new plan is to see if Mike can fit on Sum of All Fears at Epcot because they use the same ride harness system as the Forbidden Journey. If he fits then we'll go to US in Oct 2011.

So without further ado, here is our new plan in the form of my planning spreadsheet!
