Need to get to post office - again. It's not even swap season. :confused3

Kiddos off to school.
Post office.
Milk and bread run, maybe I'll have DH do this on the way home.
Start boxing up junk/elliptical room. DH had an auction obsession a few years ago and bought boxes of weird stuff. All the old books he purchased ended up being stacked 4 feet high, 10 feet long, two rows deep. Old musty dusty books. My allergies don't like that room much. Anyway, we never do anything useful with the books. Now they will be boxed back up and put in the barn.
If anyone has use for old - think early 1900-1970 books about religion, philosophy, text/school type books, just let me know. I'll send you some.
Lunch
Laundry
Dinner
Homework, dinner, then V

Dh would love the religion and philosophy ones- one of his teachers regularly calls for textbooks from the 1950's-1970's. If you happen to have any really old math ones I know someone who collects those as well- think 1930's and before.

I will make a list and keep it with me when I start boxing. :thumbsup2

I think I can comfortably afford to send out about 3 boxes with the large box flat rate shipping.

[meaning DH won't flip over a few ]

I'm working today. Going to stop at Mike's and possibly ACM on the way there. Only doing 10-1 or 2. I can only take so much filing at once.

When I get home I need to make my lasagna and do the GS banner for the parade tomorrow. We're not marching (Princess and I), but the other girls need the banner. Better get crackin!

Hope everyone has a good day!

I don't remember any magic books. These came from old family farms mostly. I think magic may have been too mystical for out here.

But it's not like I remember every title. :lmao: I will put it on my list. :thumbsup2

Home

On the event:
Pretty much every single person who we asked to help dropped the ball on this - from the people who were supposed to send out the annoucement about the event even occuring - it went out THIS MORNING. Luckily I had someone else take over and send it out last week. Jeez. And these people are administrators, and supposed to be there for us.

Then our live music - Lou never ended up contacting him, because it would have been so much more work setting up, with cables, etc. And we didn't know if he wanted money. So then I had to make a CD.

And then we were supposed to co-sponsor this with the Commuter Student Association, but they just went through a huge upheaval in their club, and the new president seems... underwhelming and overwhelmed. All we asked was that he have a representative there to help get members for his club, but he never got back to me.

Oh, and then Lou thought that 80 small cookies would be fine for desserts. Uhhhmmm - no. So I made him bake brownies.

Ohhhh man. This is not going to be fun.

Rant over. Sorry everyone.... I'm just freaking out about this. Ugh.

What i should have done is asked my aunt who cam up yesterday to get one and bring it with her but I'm not that smart:lmao:. I'll be glad when this apt is over and we know what direction we're going in. I'm not ready for him to have it done with all the problems from the 1st go around but he's miserable with it so.......

Let's see:

Christy: The CTS did have the storage ottomans (ottomen? :lmao:) and they were pretty cute. About 18" x 24", with the lid that lifts for storage inside. They had tan, brown, and a couple of dusty green ones. They are $29.99, minus the extra 20% off. I'd be more than happy to pick you up some if you want - I'm sure we'll manage to see each other sometime in the next few months...! Totally up to you!

MM2000: I got an entire sheet of the F&F coupons off of slickdeals. I think there is a PDF file posted there. The sale started today and runs for a week (Tues/Tues) Let me know if you can't find the file - I could photo copy my (kinda tattered and missing one coupon!) sheet and mail it to you today if you want. Also, there are lots of shoppers there and everyone is offering everyone else coupons - I got asked at least three times by very nice women shoppers..."Hon, you have a coupon, right?" I also think there is an active DIS thread on this topic too -

TB: Sorry to miss your call and email - I was on the bus headed for the shopping center, baby! Would have loved to have you stop by - I'd be up for another trip over there because I forgot to buy a gift card and meant to.

P.S. Went to ACM and used my 50% off coupon on myself (woo woo!) for a cute MS gift that I'll put under the tree. (Don't worry TB, it is something you already have! But still I ain't opening that deep punch early - you'll just have to wait until 12/25 along with me!)

Thanks, Pam, I Googled it and found one. I think we're going to trek over to Framingham/Natick on Sunday (Saturday is the baby shower), so I'm glad to have it!

Does anyone have any recipes for steak tips in the crock pot (that they've tried and liked?)? I have steak tips and we don't have any propane! I'd like to make them on Thursday.

Great - glad you found the coupons! They have all sorts of great holiday stuff - my store was packed and there were many groups of women from different offices/businesses buying 30 of this and 50 of that for office parties or decorating or something. Their overloaded carts were truly something to behold! (One frazzled looking chick kept screeching to her cohorts, "We're on the clock now, come on!" as they kept straying away from her to look at other things.) Don't think you'll have that problem on Sunday!

LOL, that's funny. I'm sure there won't be loads of people running around buying stuff "on the clock" on Sunday. I almost went in this morning, but I was running late, glad I waited for the coupons! That's where I got the 6x12 albums that I love!

The hot cocoa one is soooo awesome! And, they had a whole display of Christmas papers...MOG, I'm going to be broke, there is a set of Bazzill "glazed" that has embossed (like heat embossed, not like embossing folders) snowmen and trees and stockings and stuff...OMG, I almost died.

MM - thanks for posting the link. I just found the PDF in my downloads folder but didn't know how to post the file. Then I noticed you already did it!!!

Y'all have to tell me "STOP shopping for Christmas!" (Except for two more little things for DH from LLBean, a few gift cards for my mom - gonna make her a cute card with pockets for them - but she won't appreciate the card...:headache:), a Target gift card for DS's classroom aide, and a few things for the dog.)

I am really done with the Christmas gift shopping, (even for myself!), all the kids are "even" (whew!) and I need to save the remaining $$$ in the Christmas budget envelope for the tree, card postage, and our holiday baking ingredients and traditional splurgy foods we enjoy at this time of year.

I need my anti-enablers to help me!!! The temptation to keep spending is strong and the ads are and will be so enticing...:santa:, but I know that I really want to be saving for our summer 2010 WDW trip.

We're going "lean" this year. I ordered PrincessM's room redo yesterday, I have a few movies for her, a lunch box, and some assorted items too, DH and I will do stockings, and I think one family gift (probably a game of some sort). I'll buy a few things for my mom, cuz she sleeps over on Christmas Eve, and DH will need to buy for his family, but that's it. Deb~ I hope DS feels better soon.. It would be awful to have his tonsils out at this age.... especially missing school.... but he is a trooper he'd make it thru with no issues!!

DH hit the mother load on t-shirts for my little boys for a dollar today! He called and said he had 15 in his hands did I want them.. He came home and showed me.. 2 of them are generic jerseys but B loves those... the others are sports related for DS13... so for $15.00 I have the boys totally done w/ the exception of a movie for each (hoping to use my $10 coupon at Walmart on Friday for UP, I need to see if I can find a coupon or good price for Ice Age new one).. DD may not get a movie because I found a sale on business casual suits and she wants one... and she needs them w/ her mtgs at school and with 4-H and at leadership conferences.... So I may get that instead of the movie as it is more beneficial to her...

i'd love to work part time. you are so very lucky. although i am lucky enough to be able to put bubba on the bus and be here when he gets off. and i can come home at lunch and put a load of laundry on and start supper. so all in all i don't have it too bad!

So I may get that instead of the movie as it is more beneficial to her...

wow Nan you are moving right along! good for you!

Awwwwww, hope that cutie feels better soon!! Mine has been sleeping since he got home from the docs.

And as to the other...OMG that is soooo true!! OK, so how many times have I wanted to smack people? To the point where I nicely say "Can you hold for a min" then choke the life out of the phone!! You just can't fix stupid!!

Yup, I've been trying to change or get rid of STUPID in my life for years.... I'm on the countdown..only 7 more years and STUPID will be gone forever!!!! :)
:rolleyes1

Nan, I found this deal (http://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=3573) for Ice Age 3, but never found Nutella at my Walmart. HTH!

(I'm getting Up and Monsters Inc. this week!).

The kids don't want any part of Nutella but I could donate it! I'll check the link out! Thank you!!!!
I did find 2- $5.00 mail in rebates in addition to the $10 off coupon for UP, you have to buy some other products, but they are ones we buy normally so in all, I'd pretty much get the movie for about $5.00! LOL

wow Nan you are moving right along! good for you!

Thanks, we are well w/in our budget actually spending a lot less.. DH is into the dollar sales at the stores, he goes out at lunch.. I think it's that our he could throttle a few of his co-workers around this time of year!:grouphug:

I've missed posting the last two days. This week is "clean the apartment" week. I wish it was done, and the keys handed in already.

Yesterday, I did all the mini blinds. Today, I did the kitchen. Tomorrow, I am doing one of the bathrooms. I hate bathrooms.

Today's good news...got the 10% Crate & Barrel coupon you get when you move. Which means I can order my scrap room furniture and dining set!

Stop shopping for Christmas! (unless it's for me)

In other news, I got my midterm back from my Government class. I'm the only Psychology major in there, everyone else is Government. The spread was 3 As, 7 Bs, and 7 Cs. "Eep!" was my first thought....

But guess who got 2 of the As? Lou and I! He beat me by 2 points, which is sort of hilarious, considering he read every chapter and I didn't read any of them.

On that note, congratulations to PJ, Nan! She sounds like a testament to your skills.

Thanks!!! She was mad about her GPA, I had to laugh because she was just livid... I finally said "do you know how many kids wish they had that GPA!"... I told her that it is hard work and effort that go her where she is and that is something no one else can take from her!!!

Congrats to you and Lou for the A's... Although you not reading and him only beating you by 2 points is hilarious!!!

I'm curious for DH to send my the grades on my DsS's.. while I have access to their grades, I don't get into them and allow him to send them to me... It gives him a moment to brag about the boys...and me the moment to remind him if it wasn't for me... they wouldn't be so smart! :rolleyes1:thumbsup2
