Best Westerns in San Diego area

Hi,

We have gift cards to use for Best Western and wondered about a nice play to stay for one night over the holidays. We will be going to Sea World and the Zoo, but would also like to see the ocean/beach.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Just stayed at BW Island Palms on Shelter Island and was quite pleased. The Casa del Mar part is all new, the Island Palms part is older but has been renovated. Almost all rooms have a view of the bay or the marina behind. The bayview face the street (quiet street) and parking lot. First floor room wouldn't give you much of a view but you can walk accorss the street to the benches and path for a view. I have heard the standard rooms are small. We had a 2 Queen suite on the second floor facing the marina. It has two heated pools and two hot tubs so, even if it's cold you can use the pools and hot tubs. Lots of high end dining in the area. We went to both SeaWorld and the zoo, and they were both very short drives from Shelter Island. I found the pictures on their website to be an accurate representation of the hotel. No extras included but parking and internet are free.
