Probably in a suitcase that will be checked in :
Laundry detergent (in a ziplock bag)
nail clipper

And carry on items :
Skytel pager
Palm Pilot
Digital Camera

Shouldn't be a problem to have the detergent or the clippers in checked baggage or to carry on the pager, palm pilot, or camera.

Hi, have you tried the new wisk or tide detergent tablets?

Much easier to travel with than loose powder stuff.

I can't find the tablets in NYC. :( We desperately need a good grocery store here.

They could ask you to turn on your electronic equipment, so make sure you have functioning batteries in them. I think that usually happens with bigger stuff, like laptops, but better safe than sorry. (And in this case, sorry means paying airport prices for batteries.)

When my friends went to MCO in March, one brought his new camcorder with them which he had received it for a Christmas present and hadn't had a chance to use it before vacation....

So thinking he would have 3 hours to read the directions and learn how to use it, he took it with him on the plane... When going through security, the agent ask him to open it and turn it on so they could make sure it was "real"... well, he said " To tell you the truth, it's new and I don't even know HOW to turn it on.. She said "I can't turn it on for you, but I have one like it and can TELL you how to turn it on" Luckily, the battery was charged and working.

Thank goodness the security agent was "human" but also Thank goodness they are scrutinizing "normal" electronics more closely now!

I think it's worth the extra security
