I am new to this board and have found it very helpful so far! We are also going on Nov.17, but did not know it was a pin trading cruise! TA didn't tell us that. My daughter will be thrilled. I only collect pins from the Disney Resorts we've stayed at. Keeps the cost down! This will be our first Disney Cruise and the kids first cruise ever! My husband and I went on NCL 16 yrs ago! The kids are ecstatic that we've finally decided to go.

Disnymik-You will love the cruise, and even better now that you know there will be a bunch of pin traders aboard. This is my third Disney cruise, but my first sailling without the family (they are not in to all the pins, and I didnt want to take daughters out of school).
Keep your eye these posts, and as the cruise gets closer, this post should grow. Ill "bump it up" occassionally so people will see it. We should be aquainted with quite a few people by the time Nov. gets here!!!

Hi there,
My family is going on this 4 day cruise on the Wonder! We are spending 3 days in WDW before the cruise, then 4 days on the cruise and then 2 more days in WDW before finally heading home. First cruise for the kids, 5th for me, 4th for hubby! Have sailed Norwegian and Carnival. Loved Carnival so hoping we will really love Disney!
Have 3 kids....9 year old daughter (at time of sailing) 7 year old son and 3 year old son! My inlaws are going for babysitting support and cause they weaseled their way in LOL
Looking forward to FINALLY meeting others on board! I too didnt know it was a pin trading cruise....will that make a difference to the cruise at all?? Havent been on any type of "theme" cruise before so this is new!

Pin Traders have paid an additional fee for some special events on board, and there will be a special area for them to get together. Other than that, it wont effect any other shipboard activities.

DH and I will be cruising again....can't beat the DCL cruise and then throw in pin trading...I'm there! We had such a wonderful time in May and can't hardly wait for this one. May was our first ever pin event, as we live in Chicago, while many were upset with the disorganization, I thought it was a blast!
As for the non-pin people going, don't worry, we're all just obsessive about the pins, but we don't bite! I know I for one, enjoy the cruise first and foremost!
Looking forward to it!

Hi Stephanie,
so you have been on a pin event before... great you can help us novice people to know what to expect... do you were your lanyards to dinner and everywhere you go or just at certain times? they may be a silly question but I am curious... Were you on the Wonder on the last cruise pin event? I have never been on the wonder been on the Magic but am really looking forward to this new adventure...
Look forward to meeting you...

Hi Cyndi!
Yes, we wer on the pin cruise in May. It was our first event. We went on board, with me being the sole pin person, and came out with two...now I think my DH is more addicted than me!
First and foremost, we went on the cruise to enjoy the cruise and have a good time. The pins were second. Now, that didnt' mean that there weren't people there solely to do pins. There were. For example, we had early seating, which happened to coincide with the opening of Mickey's Mates (where you purchased the pins) There were SEVERAL people who opted to show up extrememly late for dinner. They all came rushing in just as our main course was being served....dressed for Tritons, wearing their lanyards. That's where I drew the line. We did not wear our lanyards to dinner, they were neatly placed in my handbag, until we left the dining room...I did have them with me at all times!
As far as the pin event aspect, it was our first event. We live in Chicago and don't 'make it to WDW very often, although, I see that changing! Many of the "regulars" were disappointed in the "event". The only part that could be considered as such was the pin pursuit that had you going from different points in the ship to ge the map stamped. The pin releases were all done via RSP forms so there was no need to stand in line, if your name was pulled, you were guaranteed the merchandise. All in all, I had a WONDERful time. I can't wait for November...staying up til all hours trading in the lounges...what a blast! If you have any other questions, just let me know! Where is your cabin? Did you book with any of the groups, or with Disney direct?
Stephanie

Stephanie,
thanks for the information... so they give you a map and you go to each area of the boat and get it stamped do you get a pin? or just a stamp?
I know what you mean about your husband... my friend and I before our last cruise bought a few pins before hand our husband not really into it...now my husband has his own lanyard pins and his hat pins ... he is hooked as well... kind of funny how at first he was thinking who is gonna trade pins ... to we need to go to the next pin trade area to see whats in the trade book... Men... so funny....
You were talking about the opening of Mickeys mates... do they sell special pins for the pin events or people just wanting to buy the Cruise pins?
We have the second seating but I understood that most of the pin traders are ont he 2nd dinner that must be why... they want to be there when the store opens?
I am excited about the pin events but I am really going on this cruise to relax... not sure I will do an excursion or not .. I am thinking about doing a spa treatment in lieu of an excursion.. I heard there is some type of girls night special or something like that it would be fund to have a few Lady's to do that and have girl talk things... Since hubby is not going.. I can do just what I want and not feel like I need to do things he likes...
I am really excited about this cruise...

Amber,
do you use felt material for your pin book or the craft foam?
This is my first attempt at this... The craft foam is so light weight that the pins almost seem to heavy wondering about the durability of the book... Please I would love to hear how you make your book...
How long have you been trading pins? I have only pin collecting for about a year....
well, wont be long now... Never been cruising in November how is the weather that time of the year... does anyone know...

I will also be on this cruise, which is my second DCL pin cruise. I am a pin regular and have been collecting for 20 years. All I can say is November has got to be an improvement over May. Dont get me wrong, I still had a great time, but in terms of a pin event it was very poorly run. To follow up on an earlier comment, the map pins, and surprise pin were not RSP so the lines every night to get them, and extra LE's was a mad rush from dinner (early seating), to stand in line to get pins, to rushing to the shows. Dont get me wrong, I am looking forward very much to the cruise. If pin trading fails me or the event is as poorly run again, there is so much to do on the cruise I wont miss the pins.

Stacey,
sounds like you had a good time anyway... but sorry for the questions since I have never done this I am a little confused .... so you have different places on the ship to have your map stamped.. does that have to be done all in one day? or the length of the cruise... did you have to go to a certain place to get your pin? did you have to go to the store and show your completed map at a certain time?... I will be glad when more details come out... then maybe I wont bother you guys so much... I am just so excited... I know we will have a good time...
tiggr33
07-29-2002, 12:55 PM
Cyndilou,
Yes there where different places on the ship were you went to get a stamp. You had to answer a question on the map to get the stamp. Then you went to Mickeys Mates and got the free completor pin by showing your completed map. You could also buy the other pins that go on the map. You could take your time with the map, didnt have to do it all in one day, but it was easy to complete in a hour or so. Mickeys Mates is only open during certain times, and not when in port. So thats what caused the mad dashes as I call them.
I noticed you are making your own pin bag. I use the rigid felt (Stiffened Eazy Felt) that comes in 12x18 sheets for mine. I fold the sheet in half and trim to fit the binder if neccessary and then punch holes in what are the two ends, to place in the binder.
Hope that answered some of your questions. Feel free to ask away if you have more.

Another great idea that holds pins well is cork, which you can get at Target. I have the Disny pin books, but placed the cork in the zippered pockets. The pins are easily accessible that way. I just carry a ziplock bag with the pin backs in them. It works great! Funny on how many pin people were on the cruise that I didn't meet...but I was a newbie (still consider myself one) but getting better, and pretty much lurked until I found groups that I felt comfortable with...those sharks were scarry! Especially after I got bit!
I'm really looking forward to this...we should all plan on definately meeting up and making a trade!

thanks guys for the info... sounds fun sorta like a scavenger hunt
I know what you mean about the sharks. we spent a Week and Fort Wilderness and went to Downtown Disney and saw some serious trading in action.... I dont really know that much about the history of the pins.... I just know what I like and that is what I go by....
using cork sounds like a neat idea.... so you just use a piece in the back and the front of your book?
I will also have to look at the felt at the craft store... My craft foam worked better than I had thought... but it would not fit in a three whole punch... had to use a one hole punch because of the thickness... but I think I like the final product.... thanks for all the ideas....
Have you guys checked into any excursions?
Diffently have to meet and trade pins.... I am already looking for my lime green ribbon for the dis meet...
by the time Nov 17th gets here we will feel like old friends...
need to go check and see what the weather is that time of the year.

Hey Guys,
well I started shopping today for the cruise... I could not believe the sale they were having at Sears. I got thinking that in November all I will be able to find in the store would be winter clothes and we are gonna need some tropical attire... So I am glad I went... 50 - 75% off....
I am gonna have to go out and see what kind of parties are on the 4 day ... do they have 50's & 60's nights? Tropical Night? I guess I better go out and read some navigators...
So is everyone getting excited????

Hi Cyndi and fellow 11/17 Cruisers!
Glad to see that you are getting ready already. I didn't even think about not having access to summer clothing in November! We didn't do any of the theme parties when we were there. With two days pre cruise and three day's post cruise, I have to maximize my luggage space! But I did see plenty of people dressed for the 70's night!
Made my ressies for the Beach Club Villas last week! Our first trip back to our home resort as DVC members!
Talk to you all soon!

hey Stephanie,
we did not do any of the themed parties last time either... we went to the 70's party just to see how people were dressed...
It was very entertaining... when I went to the store the other day it looked like the 70's are back by the look of the clothes...
...
I enjoy watching people... especially when they are having a good time....
...
Well, is it November yet.. I am really ready for a cruise...

I to am looking forward to some relaxation... My friend and I are leaving our husbands and children at home and having a girls week out... we are really looking forward to it...
The Pins are just an added bonus... I have started collecting for only a year so I probably will not have many pins people will want to trade with... the staff has to trade with you if they are wearing a lanyard so you may want to pick up a few pins for the kids to trade with... It really is fun... but be careful I got addicted really quick...

In Freeport we are doing the Dolphin Experience (not the swim) because my 3 year old will probably hate it but we are going to try it anyway with the inlaws. Then we will head back to the boat for a "sea" day the rest of the day.
In Castaway Cay we booked some floats and some bikes.
That's it for us!! Now if it would just get here sooner things would be great! We got our passports on Saturday so we are set..now hurry hurry hurry November! LOL

Hi gang! We are also cruising the Wonder on Nov 17th for the Pin Cruise. This will be me & my DD5's 3rd pin cruise (May 2001 & 2002) and my DH's 2nd. The other 2 were 3-day so we are looking forward to doing the 4-day. This time we splurged for a verandah too!
It's getting close - I can't wait!!

Hi Glad your coming along on the trip... since you have gone before you can tell some of us First timers what to expect on the pin trading cruise.... I have cruised on the Magic for the 7 day... and just started pin trading in 2001 so this is all so new to me...A pin trading Cruise.... I was looking at the Tentative Itennerary (sp)...on another site. It looked somewhat confussing... I guess it will become more clear later but if you have any info that will help us Please share how things work... I am really getting excited I cannot wait...

First off, the pin cruise we went on in May 2000 was not an "official" Disney pin cruise, but rather a group put together by DizPins.com (a pin trading info site). So my experience from that pin cruise was completely different from the official DCL pin cruise this year.
Regarding the official DCL Pin Cruise in May 2001, I can give the following advice and observations (fellow pin cruise veterans please chime in and also correct me if I am wrong ;)).
Get to the terminal early and get in line to board! 9:30-10 is not too early! Send one person over to check-in if you must, but secure that early place in line! This will avoid standing in another long line when embarkation begins and all the pinheads (said lovingly, lol) rush to Studio Sea 1st thing to register for the pin RSP (random selection process). First in is first out and you can begin enjoying the ship & food once that detail is behind you.
I will write more later as I think of things.

Thanx Nancy sounds like it is going to be fun. My friend and I are thinking about getting a hotel the night before so we can get up and and not have to go far to get to the terminal we do want to get there early. I am looking forward to meeting all the pin traders... Please if you think of any thing else just type away.

I'm just checking in to say how excited I am getting already!! I saw how some of you have booked shore excursions already. Being my first cruise I was unaware this was possible. Who do I contact to do this. I have everything written down want we want to do but haven't booked anything. Could you help me with the # to call. Any suggestions to keep my DS9 and DD6 interested with the same excursions. I was thinking Dolphins but is it worth the money? And what about the glass-bottom boat? Too boring??? My DH keeps telling me to "Do what YOU want(since I'm the one doing ALL the planning and whatever I decide will be fine for everyone!) A great help he has been. Love him to death but just a little input would be great lol. After all this is OUR FAMILY vacation.

Did you book your cruise with Dreams Unlimited?? I booked with Dreams and upon paying my cruise in full they emailed all the information about what excursions were available and gave me a telephone number to call to pre-book my excursions. I dont know if you can use it but I would assume you could since you are going on the same cruise. When I called all they wanted from me was my Disney Booking number and I gave them that and then told them what I wanted. Here is part of the email I received
Once final payment has been made, contact Disney Cruise Lines Special Services Desk at 1-877-566-0968 or fax the completed order form to Special Services at 407-566-7031. Disney Cruise Lines Special Services staff will confirm availability and participants for each excursion chosen and can answer any questions. Once shore excursions are reserved, a separate confirmation document will be mailed or faxed. If traveling with guests in other staterooms, please complete one order form for each stateroom.
Shore excursion requests can be made through Disney Cruise Line's Special Services team . Requests are taken on first come, first serve basis and some excursions have capacity limits. Therefore, we encourage guests to contact DCL early to avoid any disappointment. Guests may alter shore excursions reservation request anytime up to 7-days prior to sailing. After that time, all shore excursion reservations are considered final and cannot be changed or refunded. Guests who choose not to pre-reserve shore excursions prior to their cruise may stop by the ship's Shore Excursion Desk, located on Deck 3, on embarkation day, to check availability and purchase excursions. Due to limited availability, some excursions may not be available at time of request.
All guests with pre-reserved shore excursions will receive excursion tickets delivered to their stateroom on embarkation day. Payment for confirmed excursions will be billed directly to the guest's shipboard account. Advance payment is not required or accepted.
I have the list of the excursions from them if you want it. You can email me for it if you want! My email is hydster2@attbi.com
I just got my list of excursions in the mail yesterday..they are SO organized! I think Disney is spoiling me for other cruise lines! LOL
I had to edit this to tell you I have the SAME problem with my husband AND my inlaws who are going with us. They just say "just book what you want and tell us when to show up" or hubby says "I dont really care what we do as long as you and I can go scuba diving somewhere while we are on this cruise" so I am stuck figuring it all out as well. Our kids are staying on the boat in the morning at Nassau with the inlaws while we scuba and then the only other excursion we could make work timewise and with our almost 4 year old was the glass bottom boat so we went for it. In Freeport the only thing we could find interesting enough to do there was the dolphin thing so we are going to do that there and then Castaway I am hoping for a Cabana massage and doing nothing! LOL
I just wanted you to know that you arent alone with your hubby not helping you out with decisions. I have a 9 year old girl and 7 year old boy and 4 year old boy and they will all look at me if what I chose suck and tell me "good job mom!" LOL Oh the pressure... I cant take it any more!
Hope this helps!

due to the fact that winter will be here shortly (I think it already is here due to the fact our mountain resorts got over a foot of snow yesterday alone) so I am taking all the kids shorts and t-shirts and packing them along with mine and hubbies stuff too! It is starting to get SO exciting! Now if I could just come up with ways to keep my 3 kids occupied on a 4 hour flight to Orlando and home it would be great! The longest my kids have flown was 2 hours to LAX so this will be a new LONG flight for all of them especially my almost 4 year old. We plan on bringing both laptops and movies but cant think of anything else to bring to keep them occupied...anyone have any kid ideas for the plane? We bought the youngest a travel magna doodle but we are at a loss of what they can do for 4 hours. Of course some of that time will be taken up by dinner (even confirmed we get to eat on the way down but not home) so that takes 40 min (lol) so what to do with the other 3 hours???
Anyone ever used those Ear Planes for kids on the plane to help with the pressure?? WHen we flew last time the kids had terrible times with their ears adjusting upon landing even with chewing gum and drinking and swallowing to the point they were all 3 crying! Anyone have ANY ideas on if those things work??? We have tried Benadryl to help keep the pressure down but think we may have to ask the ped about other things as well!
Cant wait...6 weeks from tomorrow we leave for WDW..Cant believe we are down to single digit weeks! LOL
Hurry up documents!

Hey Guys,
We only have a little over a month to go.... so have you got your docs.... are you shopping.... are you packing.... Whats happening? Does everyone want to meet at the Sailaway Party?Once we get on ship and see the schedule it might be hard to get together again.. but we can plan a alternate day as well just in case (God Forbid) it is raining....
Dont forget to look for some Lime Green Ribbon when you are out shopping so we can find each other waiting in line to board....
Is anyone staying at a Hotel the night before boarding in the area? We are trying to decide where to stay... Either in Orlando so we can get some more pins. or near the port.... what are ya'll doing?

Now I'm frantically going through the guide books for Disney World trying to figure out which rides are good for the DS(6-yo) and DD(3-yo) and which ones I'll be riding alone. :D Gotta do the parks and the Poly in Orlando first.
hydster: I've heard good things about earplanes but have never used them myself. I think they come in sizes so make sure you get some to fit children's ears. You might try taking a decongestant (sudafed or nasal spray) prior to leaving. If you add one with an antihistimine your kids might just sleep the whole trip out. :D I just hold my nose and blow to relieve the pressure. Haven't blown my brains out yet. :D
No worries, sail happy!!

Hi Everyone,
I just found this thread. My DW Janet & I will be on the cruise. This will be our second cruise. The first time was on the Magic, only 6 weeks after the inaugural sailing.
We haven't got our documents yet but keep hoping every day. We faxed our shore excursion choices about 9 days ago but haven't heard back if we are booked into them. I called about a month ago to see why I never get anything from the Castaway Club. It took them a while to locate the fact that we are previous cruisers but finally they did & promised to send out info right away. Needless to say, we're still waiting! Despite that we are confident everything will come together & we'll have a great cruise.
We fly in on Sat morning & are spending one night at Port Orleans Riverside & after the cruise we'll spend Thurs, Fri & Sat at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Can't wait!
We look forward to meeting all of you. We'll be wearing our green DIS Board pins on our lanyards.

Since the Pin Event on board this cruise is a hard ticket event (separate $25 fee) and those of us registered already received our RSP forms in advance, you can forget what I said in my post on Page 5 about rushing to Studio Sea to sign-up for the RSP.
But ticket holders do still need to go to Studio Sea that first afternoon to pick-up our event packages (t-shirt, pin, lanyard & other goodies).
Our group TA said she is sending out the docs today so we should have them tomorrow. Yippee!

Thought I would follow cindilou's lead and post something to get the thread bumped up again.
I've had the cruise doc's for probably 3 weeks now so that part of the excitement has worn off some. My 3 year old DD had her tonsils out last Friday so we've been watching a lot of Disney movies during her recovery. It's fun to hear her say "We're going there!!" at the start of every movie when they show Cinderella's castle. We are having breakfast at the castle with all the princesses on our short visit to the parks prior to the cruise. She's constantly saying, "We're going to Disney World tomorrow!" If only that were true. :)
While I've been out helping the DW in the DD's recovery effort, I also booked 2 dolphin swims and 2 dolphin encounters for the family in Nassau. I booked it directly w/Dolphin Encounters to get the swims for DS and myself. The ladies are doing the encounter. We also saved some money booking it directly instead of the official shore excursion. That will be one of the highlights of the trips. It should be right up there with the breakfast at the castle.
No worries, sail happy!!

staying at the Polynesian resort on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. We have PS for Cinderella's Castle on Friday morning so we will do WDW on Friday. Saturday we will do MGM and then Sunday we are going to go to Animal Kingdom in the morning since we arent going to get any Palo or Spa reservations we dont have to do the scramble. We will get to the port about 1 pm or so anyway and then put the kids in the clubs and eat and enjoy time on the boat. On Thursday when we get back we are heading back to Port Orleans Riverside (the only resort we could afford that held 5 of us in 1 room) and we will do WDW that day and Epcot that night and then Friday we will do MGM/WDW again that day and then come home on Saturday. I cant believe it 3 weeks from today (21 days) we leave! I am psyched! I am going to start getting stuff together this weekend and shopping for airplane supplies to keep the kids busy and stuff. We dont get into Orlando until LATE on Thursday night (Orlando time not too bad our regular home time) so we miss out on 1 day at the parks. I cant wait to get suitcases packed and ready to go.

OK - I have seen the title "Nov 17 Pin Trading" for quite some time now - My thought being, Oh, there are two boats leaving on the 17th ? - I finally read the first page of posts and realize that OH MY GOSH, IT'S MY BOAT!!!!!!
I am bummed cause I could've been chatting with you guys this whole time!!!!
My husband, myself, and our 4yr old girl will be on the cruise. We live in Southern Cal and have AP
I am not into pin-trading(stay with me now) but I bought my daughter a lanyard and pins (princess of course) on our last trip to DL - She loves it - Although, I think I am getting hooked now as well! It is fun!
Now that I have found out I am on the pin trading cruise, I am so excited!!!
I just have a question for you, - I will be going to DL again before our cruise. I know there are pins more tradable than others. I am not looking to be a pin collector of rare pins. I would just like to collect and have fun! But I would like to bring pins that others would like to trade me for - Which ones from DL or DCA should I buy to bring to trade - I am sure that is a loaded question - Sorry, I am really new to this and any guidance would be great -
OK, now I am going to go and read all the back threads and see what you guys have been chatting about!
See you all soon!!

Karen,
I am so glad you found us... Pin trading the best thing to do is just buy the pins you like.... If you want to collect donald duck, winnie the pooh.... remember when you are on the ship that any CM wearing a lanyard will trade you.... you give them whatever pin you want to and tell them which pin of theirs you want.... go to the Disney Stores and pick up a few they ususally have some cheaper... and also when you are in DL ... just remember to have fun.... NOW I WILL WARN YOU... some people take this pin trading stuff very seriously... as for me... I just like trading it is fun.... REMEMBER TO WEAR YOUR LIME GREEN RIBBON so we can spot you in line.... 9 more days./... YEAH !!!!!

I know some people take this really seriously and that kind of scares me - What if I end up getting some rare pin and someone trades me a not so rare one - Well, I guess it really doesn't matter cause I wouldn't know the difference anyways - I just want to have fun with it.
I have already gone to the Disney store to pick up some cheap ones there - And I know to only wear the ones you want to trade. Hope my daughter and I are not to overwhelmed by it all since we are "virgins" to this.
Our family is so excited and we can't wait to go!

Hi Karen!
What a shame that you're just now finding the thread...but we're glad that you did! You and your daughter will have a great time on the cruise! Most of us pin traders love to show newbies how to get even more addicted! But if you keep in your mind that you're in it for fun, and to collect what you like, then you'll never be disappointed!:D
As far as what to bring from DL, I know that they have the Nightmare before Christmas releases every weekend, that always seems to go over well. But remember this, you're coming from DL to WDW. Anything from DL can't be as easily obtained by those of us that don't live there!
Hopefully we'll run into each other. My husband and I both love to trade pins with the little ones....in fact we have a special lanyard just for them! Don't tell her, but they are usually stocked with Princesses! :bounce:
See you in 9 days!

Thanks for all of the great tips! Sounds like it is going to be so much fun!
My daughter will LOVE to find a lanyard full of princesses!! She is very shy and doesn't talk much, but really enjoyed pin trading! She would see a CM w/ pins and whisper in my ear "Mommy, there's one" We would walk over and she would take a look, and look, and look, and then point to the one she would like. Sometimes, it's not even a princess pin, but Mickey or Minnie.
I must say, my heart melted when you posted you and your husband have a special lanyard just for little ones! That is so sweet!!
Here is a question for anyone; Are you bringing all the pins you have so you can show (not trade) people what you have, or are you just bringing what you want to trade?
I am just finding out about this now, but is it too late (I'm sure it is) for me to sign up for any of the pin trading stuff going on the ship? What do I need to do?
Can't wait -

Karen,
Hopefully our paths will cross on the cruise, I'd love to trade with your daughter! Sorry, I just can't resist the little ones!
Hmmm, are we bringing all of our pins? No, we'd probably sink the ship! :p But we will have a bag with some of them, like I said, to get interested, it's great to just look at some of the books that have the older and rarer pins...not to mention the ones from Japan and Paris! Don't be shy, as I said, most of us are really nice people. My husband, Ted and I were relatively new to the hobby on our last cruise and have made some great friends that we regularly talk with!
As far as getting in on the event, you may want to try calling DCL specifically, or possibly even Event Services at Disney,407-827-7600. I know that they have already done the RSP process (selecting who will receive the limited edition pins) but, you still may be able to get in, as I know all of the LE's haven't sold out.
Hope this Helps!

Thanks for posting the phone number - I will give them a call today -
I went to DCA yesterday - Please don't tell my DH what I spent on pins! This could turn out to be a very expensive hobby!
Hope to see you! Thanks again for all of your great information and advice!

But it is truely a fun and addicting hobby! I wouldn't TRADE it for anything :lol

My family is now coming down with some sinus thing! Yuck! Any secret remedies out there? Praying to be better by the time we leave!
Getting excited now!

Have you thought of trying Zicam??? It is an over the counter Zinc med that you squirt up your nose and me and my family swear by it. You should use it at the beginning of a cold or sinus thing and then continue to use it for 48 hours after the symptoms stop but it seems to cut down on our cold time by about 2-3 days. I know some question it and maybe it is the placebo effect but we have friends who also swear by it. It is kind of pricey but it might be worth a shot. My family is just getting over colds AND the stomach flu so lets hope it is gone for good now! We are all packed except for the small items that we need to throw in on Thursday morning and we are so excited we cant stand it!!!!

I have heard of Zicam - Think I will pick some up today!
We also have had that terrible stomach thing and I was hoping that would be it! But if we were to get sick, I am glad it is before the cruise and not during!
thanks for the tip!
