DDP credits question

This is gonna sound like a really pathetic question, but here goes...
At a CS, how do you make sure your DDP credits are used rather than your KTTW card being charged? Do you tell your server at the kiosk/ booth that you're on the DDP and want to use your credits, or do they ask you this once they swipe your card?
Also, if you're using a snack credit can you also pay OOP for something, say a coffee, in the same transaction?

Always tell your server, at TS or CS (and snacks!), that you're using credits. At a CS location, to add an OOP item, they will actually ring it up as two transactions, based on the limitations of the system.

Just let the server/order taker know you're using the dining plan. They'll give you a ticket back showing what credits you used and how many are left. We've never had them accidentally charge our card instead of dining credits before. No need to worry!

And double check your receipt. It can be mistaken to use a TS credit at the CS places, so make sure the cashier charges it correctly. If they don't it can be fixed on the spot, makes for a hassle when you find it out later there was a mistake.

We only use the kids KTTW cards that do not have charging

We have seen it reported here that people have been charged off their KTTW card rather than a credit used. For that reason, when we get the DDP we do not put charging privileges on the card. It is just not that big a deal to carry another card.

We had no charging privileges on our KTTW cards, and always made sure to check the bottom of the receipt for our remaining TS and CS's before we left the restaurant. We did not have any issues, but there have been others who have so it's always better to be safe.

We always tell the CM that we are using DDP credits. We've only had a problem once, and that was when the CM charged us OOP when we asked him to use credits. We asked him to correct it, but he said no. (He was obviously having a bad day and didn't want to be there. He was rude to everyone in line.)

When we got back to our resort, we asked concierge to refund our OOP expense and use the credits instead. They ended up (happily!) giving us a refund and letting us keep our credits. :wizard:
