I would like to dedicate this thread, to all the threads that have come before, that have been hijacked. You know the ones......We have all asked a question, about some subject, and the next thing you know...... we're 53 miles west of Venus (That's for the B-52 fans). I still chuckle when I see that happen. No better way to enjoy a Sunday morning, listening to some Jazz (Ok, maybe listening to my La Nouba CD), drinking my coffee with some Black Sambuca and visiting the Disboards. :coffee:

To all those wayward threads that can't find the bread crumbs to follow back home......I salute you. :drinking1

We have never taken brown paper bags when visiting WDW, but next May we are going to do Tom Sawyer Island.
My daughter will be 19, she is at that age where she might enjoy the RP Driving experience. Right before we play golf at Fantasia Gardens.

My clothes are dry, I got to get them from the Balcon....I mean dryer.

Which brand is your dryer, is it good for drying swimming suits after hopping pools?

Right on a Main Street, to get there catch the next flight, land at MCO, then ME, then Disney bus, then fly back and report to Dis. Should cost no more then $400(including flight), great deal!!!

Okay so if I planned correctly, I can wake up at 7 be at MK EMH by 7:45 to ride Matterhorn, breakfast at Chef Goofy's ADR time 8:05, then hop on the boat at the CR and get to AK just in time for the Lion King, while in AK meet all the princesses, after my 12:30 lunch at Tony's, I'll head to MGM where I will spend the rest of the day, watch fantasmic which starts at 8, then take the boat to that giant mickey golf ball to watch Illuminations at 9, and thank goodness, Wishes doesn't start till 11 so I think we'll squeeze that in too. Oh and Disney provides transportation to and from the Ikitikiwaki Resort 6 miles from I-Drive, right?? :rotfl2:

We're not a picky family, but we do like a clean, yet cheap hotel. We like the convenience of the monorail but we don't want to pay so much money. We want peace and quiet, but we also want to be near the bus stops and the food courts. We want to be able to walk to Epcot and the Studios and Animal Kingdom and the Magic Kingdom.

Are my 'kids' too old for strollers?

NO! I see (27 year old) kids sleeping in strollers outside of It's a Small World every time we're there! You should check the stroller swaps for a double stroller- that way you can fit more than one. Or, just steal someone else's; they'll never know it was you & just think of all of the loot you'll get (Mickey Ears, BBB sashes, whirling flashy light things, and more)! The spoiled one year old that they belonged to won't know the difference.;)

BTW, my entire family (about 100 of us) will be at MK on Christmas Day & it's my cousin's uncle's daughter's son's girlfriend's hamster's birthday. Where should we eat? Will they put us all at the same table? Do the kids have to pay the kids' price? What about the hamsters?

We are staying at a value and we are thinking we can bring most of the major appliances from home so we should be able to eat in the room. Sure! The value resorts have lots of free items: salt, pepper, butter, hot sauce, jelly, and honey. You can eat that for 1 straight week, right?

More importantly, does the term "monorail resort" mean that you can sleep on the monorail? I can't find information anywhere about renting a sleeping space in the monorail. plan on cutting later in the evening, that way all the early people will have already ridden and experienced the attraction. and you will be tired from the night before, so really don't need to get to the park til about 11. and please show up at the restaurant you want to sit down in about 1145 and cause ya'll have such a big group, they will clear an entire area and seat you right away. especially if ya'll are wearing "It's My Birthday" buttons.

I would ask my husband if we could have one but he is a jerk! All men are jerks! They are pigs who sleep with your sister and quit their jobs to watch tv all day. They are fat and lound and stupid and mean! And they all hate Disney! I hate men, all of them, everywhere. AAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Target sells them but not the disney ones...don't know if they make them...LOL!

It wasn't a rock...it was a ROCK LOBSTER!!!!!!.......B-52s rock...saw them at the State Fair and grew up with my older sisters cranking it in the car. My mother listened to it ALL THE WAY TO DISNEYWORLD IN 1982!!! I know all the words...that and Don't....Don't you want me....

Since Space Mountain is closed for refurb, do you think this is possible...

I will go to MK in the morning, and get fast passes for Splash Mountain, and then ride Haunted House and IASW, then I will board a plane to Aneheim, and go in Space Mountain in Disneyland. I then want to fly back, and make my 5:20 ADR for Le'Cellier, head back over to MK to use my fast pass for Splash Mountian, and still make it in time for Fantasmic! ?

So, I know this has been asked a million times, but I haven't been able to find anything in Search, but:

If my DD is 37 inches, can I put her in 3 inch stilettos so that she can ride BTMRR and Splash Mountain? Do they really check heights that much?

I know it says height requirement, but it's not a requirement, right?

Well if you leave as soon as IASW is finished you should be getting to SM in DL exactly 1 minute before rope drop, so tie up those running shoes, push over those CMS and get going :D

will this work???

we are going to WDW for 7 days.. Our neighbors are going to be arriving the day we leave for 5 days...

If we burn off our finger prints so the scan will not work...
can we buy 12 days tickets and then give them to our neighbors as we are leaving?

that way we can share the cost of the tickets and it comes out so much cheaper..

I'm not sure about stilettos for the height requirements. But as good parents that we are....I'm sure you'll put her back into a more comfy pair of walking shoes.

I do recall when my daughter was being measure to ride SM, a long time ago in this galaxy. Being a sigle dad having her hair in a French Braid I just fliped it up on top of her head. I must admit that the CM chuckled and passed us on like Obie One. :worship:

I know they have more than one hotel? What will be the best hotel for us to stay at? If we don't like the hotel, can we just move to another one we like better? How will we get our luggage to the other hotel?

Do we need to make any reservations ahead of time for our meals or just wait until we show up? Should we get a character meal or just a regular meal? Where would be the best place to eat on Christmas day?

What will the weather be like? What will the temperature be every day? I don't want to have to pack too many clothes, because we are all planning on just taking carry-ons. Does anybody know of any good airfares on Christmas Eve?

Will the Magic Kingdom be crowded on Christmas day? Should we rent a car so it will be easier to get there?

Here's how:

Go to Main Street at the Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney World, Orlando Florida, then turn around and:

1. Head north on Center Dr toward Floridian Way 0.6 mi

2. Turn right at Reams Rd 2.0 mi

3. Turn left at Co Rd 535/State Rd 535/Winter Garden Vineland Rd
1.4 mi

4. Turn right at Chase Rd/Lake Sawyer Dr Continue to follow
Chase Rd 1.2 mi

5. Turn left to stay on Chase Rd 2.0 mi

6. Turn left at Main St 0.5 mi

7. At the traffic circle, take the 1st exit onto E 6th Ave 0.6 mi

8. Continue onto Conroy Windermere Rd 3.0 mi

9. Turn right at Turkey Lake Rd 1.3 mi

10. Turn left at Universal Studios Plaza 0.1 mi

11. Enter Islands of Adventure

12. Go through the Port of Entry and take a left.

13. Go past the Hulk until you reach the Spiderman ride. Stay there until Spiderman shows up for autographs. It might be 5 minutes or it might be 8 hours but he'll show eventually.

Saturday- AKL pool
Sunday- SAB
Monday- BLT- we'll sneak in the door behind a BLT guest ;)
Tuesday- Poly
BTW, does anyone have refillable mugs for these resorts? We could start a share if y'all don't. I'll buy the mug and each person can send me $20 bucks to use it.
Another idea- at Pecos Bills they're experimenting with a new seating idea that stinks. You cannot save a table while food is ordered. I'm planning to take my 16 son to the ladies room- you never know what kind of pervs are at WDW. When he's done, we're sneaking to save a table!

Oh no, no wrist bands anymore. You each have to show your room key. You could save a lot of time by having 4 of you "lose" your room keys - they are so accomodating at the front desk to get replacements! Then you all can ride at the same time, but you had best use the accessible entrances to make sure you all get on together! One of you could rent an EVC (split eight ways, it would be worth it) and they won't question it at all.

I noticed that you are staying at CSR for part of your stay and then moving to GF as a treat for your DD. You could save a lot of money and hassle if you just take her over to the pools at GF, and not actually stay there. You could really take the Swim Around the Monorail tour where they take to to each of the 3 monorail resorts to swim. You won't even have to supervise her, just sit back at the poolside bar. She'll be fine!

Hey, thanks! Does anyone have refillable mugs? We could do a share.

Just a tip - you can pick up some plain refillable mugs at the Dollar store. A couple of markers, and a bit of a creative steady hand goes a long way. If the CM says anything, just tell him it's part of the new vintage mug collection, they just started it. Then start yelling at them for emabarassing you in front of other guests. They will quickly apologize, and give you a free room upgrade.

Not to hijack your thread or anything, but will doing the online check-in increase or decrease my chances for a free room upgrade from a value resort to say.....the GF!

You put me in a budget frame of mind. I was thinking why blow the $$$ when I could make my own refillable mug. When I was looking in my pantry, I found these and I figured, why not use them? Tell me what you think.I don't want to go through the trouble of making any others until y'all tell me that these are very realistic! Be gentle it's my first effort:

I've read through this thread and gotten a LOT of great tips! Thanks so much!

I have a question, though. We are planning to stay at AKL. As a special treat for my two DDs, I'd like to plan for them to be able to pet the animals. Can I set it up for one of the CMs to call the animals over so my girls can pet them? How much would that cost?

Also, I'm trying to work out a budget for our vacation. What are the possibilibilites of not booking a reservation at AKL, but just booking an ADR at Boma so we can get into the parking lot to park our car and then, we would sleep in our car for our vacation. I'm thinking that would save a ton of money and once our car is parked, we can just use the bathrooms in the lobby to clean up before we hop on the bus to go to the parks each day.

I'm not sure if anyone else has had this idea or not, but I thought it was a great one.

Good one! I just had this image of a family moving their car to a resort every three hours for ADR's!!!!!

Have you considered a slpit stay? I hear Grand Floridian is nice! You can see the 7 seas lagoon from the parking lot.

I didn't even think about a split stay!

Let's see, if we are there for 7 days, we could hit quite a few of the resorts. That may be the perfect vacation!

Thanks!

Huh, as much as it costs to stay at WDW, the CM should do it for free. If they try to charge you, call the front desk screaming that there's a gigantic rat in your room. Then tell the manager you want a special one on one with your kids and the animals as compensation. The manager shouldn't complain because they have to pay the CM anyway.

Sorry, I'm hoping someone here will know the answer to this. I can't find any info on this anywhere.... :confused3

We just got two dalmation dogs. DW and DDs want to bring them with us so they can get married at Disney World! We're thinking of recreating the whole wedding scene from 101 Dalmations. Does Disney do anything like this? Everything I see about weddings is for humans. Surely they can handle a dog wedding! We also want Cruella to be a guest at the wedding. Of course for the reception, she'll get her dues. I really could use some pointers on how to make this magic happen for our dogs. :thumbsup2

Wow, I can't believe you couldn't find that answer anywhere. I've seen that topic come up over 100 times on these boards.

Anyway, here's the short answer:

Your dogs can not get married at Disney World due to the fact that Florida State laws currently does not recognize dog marriages.
Now there is a bill in congress to allow them, as technically you are not in Florida when you are at Disney World - being that it is it's own World, then there are immigration, tax, and so many other issues that come in to play.

So what most people have been doing is going to Disneyland instead, as the State of California, is just a State of Mind. They do recognize Dog marriages, and the CM's are very accomodating in helping you plan these marriages. They even offer free free milk bones for the brides maids. And if you play your cards right, you may be able to swing a night in Pluto's house for the honeymoon night.

Good luck.

Question... we are driving down next Friday night and are set to arrive on Sunday morning. If we drove all night and most of Saturday and got there before Saturday night, they can put us in our room early, right? I mean, what's 12 hours earlier? We really just want to get down there as soon as possible. they should accommodate us, right? For free, of course.

Just one question. Does Cruella make it to Disneyland? We really want her at the wedding. Just to rub it in her face. We were hoping for the world, but I guess the land will have to do. :confused3

HI all I am going to Disney in January can you look at my plans and answer the few questions I have?

1/13 breakfast at Chef Mickey's @ 5:00am, do all of Magic Kingdom, then have lunch at Boma @12:30pm, do all of Animal Kingdom, then Dinner at Le Cellier @ 6pm then tour all of Epoct, head back to the resort for a rousing game of soccer in the courtyard around midnight.

1/14 Fantasmic breakfast at 50's PTC, all of DHS then back to Magic Kingdom where we'll get in line for the fairies which will take like 5 minutes, have a one on one lunch with all the princesses and take a personal tour of backstage and the suite in cinderella castle, then we'll go back to DHS and watch Fantasmic from the front row with my 2 year old who is afraid of fireworks. THen we'll take the monorail to Typhoon lagoon for our personal surfing lessons, and head back to the resort to play marco polo in the pool around 1:00am before heading to bed.

Now my questions are...
1. I haven't made my dinniong reservations yet. DO you think I can just walk up and get in?
2. I want to charge my segway up while ridding the rides. Do you think there is an outlet I can use at every ride?
3. I am bringing my brand new gianormous camera with the big flash. Do you think they will stop the Haunted Mansion ride so I can set up and take some pictures?
4. My 2 year old was born in August but we are going in January, which restaraunt has the best birthday celebration?
5. Can some one make a room suggestion that is on the ground floor, right near the pool, restaurant, front desk, and elevator?

My trip is so close, gee I know I am going to get a free room upgrade!

Hi all. Just wanted to see if anyone had a clue as to who would be performing in the Christmas Parade? :santa: I don't mean this year. I need to know about 2010. I just want to share this tip...people LOVE it when you sing along, or if you know all the words to the script, just say it along with the tape. There used to be an app... but it seemed to be pointless, as it always came back with the same response.

- Go in pool
- Dip mug in - scoop out until full
- Avoid the "lemonade"

To clearify... snow is an infrequent occurence in Florida.

However, to add to the magic and realism in Epcot, the Disney Imagineers have developed artificial weather patterns to match those of the host countries. So yes it will snow at the Canada Pavillion, sometimes in the UK, etc... but a quick trek over to the Moroccon desert should help balance the chill factor. It's quite a remarkable system actually.
