I would guess it's Archimedes http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Archimedes

However, it was also the name of Merlin's owl in Sword in the Stone. So you might need to probe more as to which one he is referring too.

DH and my degrees are essentially rocket science...Aeronautical & Astronautical Engineering with emphasis on the Astro... so lots of old, dead scientist guys rattling around in our brains.

When DH and I were talking about cat names, he vetoed all my Disney names, and then brought up the scientist thing. I said, "So like Ptolemy then." And he was all YEAH! Then I said well, Marie still works but just rolled his eyes. Archimedes fits both too.

I have a math geek too! I buy him stuff from computer gear. He has a bunch of those Pi shirts...like apple pi, pumpkin pi, chocolate pi, even a pi tie to wear to school. He has pi all over his car too...such a geek! And he brings a pie to school for pi day...LOL... but he isn't a rocket scientist :lmao:

We love Archimedes. Did you know Mythbusters does a lot of the experiments that were attributed to him? My favorite is that Archimedes used mirrors to reflect light on the enemy boats and caused them to burst into flame. :thumbsup2
