Fun and Free activities near OKW

Any ideas for inexpensive or free activities near/in the WDW resort? Any nearby national parks? I think my mom and sister will be spending 2 of 4 days in the parks.

If you're staying at OKW, you'll get a newsletter on checkin that describes things going on in adn around OKW. Sometimes they run a gardening tour around OKW.

I also like to take the boat to Downtown Disney, but again, this is only for guests of the resort.
