Should I waste my time trying to beat this price on priceline or hotwire?

*price is before tax and fees

Maybe, but probably not by much. I think I've seen some as low as $19.99/day, but can't say for sure. Have you checked out the recent winning bids on www.biddingfortravel.com ?

Personally, I would take the NCR price and consider myself lucky. That's because NCR is in the MCO terminal and that time-saving convenience means more to me than saving $20 - $25. I have had more than my share of bad luck (time-wise) with the off-site agencies. JMHO. YMMV.

I would defintely take that price. There was a recent bid won on Priceline on that website from CarolMN, for $20 per day for Sept. rental, but lately there hasn't been many good bids won on PL. I'm looking for a rental in Fort Laurderdale next month and the best I got is through Dollar using the 'entertain' code. - at $140 full size/week, that averages $20 a day!

What code did you use to get that price w/NCR?

My rental is probably a bit high since it is for a 9 day rental.

I used Disney codes for the rate.

I got a standard size (2 door full size) for 17.00 per day. The total was about 162.00 for the week (this included pricelines 5.95 fee). The bid was accepted by Avis. This is a ressie for mid Sept.

Ned --

Which Disney codes did you use? I keep inputting the Disney Club codes (*from the Disney Club website) into the National website and am getting no discount.

Best rate I've gotten for a 12 day rental in early August is from Dollar using the MCC code.

I'd prefer National (could then use the EA).

Thanks for the help.

Hawkeye,

Are you using the old Disney code? It is a 59..... number. The other code is off the DC website.

No, I don't have the old code. I've used the code off of the DC website and got no discount.

Can you send me the old code?

Thanks.

I reserved a full-size car w/Dollar ($140/wk) using code 'entertain'.....will I need to present a coupon or card when I pick up the car?

Thanks! It works! But the dollar rate using MCC code is still about $50 cheaper. I'll keep checking.

Hawkeye,

Are you going after a full size?

Yes. Ther's five of us and probably plenty of luggage (if I know my wife). Well, I would prefer a mini-van but those prices seem very high (and National and some others are sold-out).

Whoops. I went back and looked at my notes. I wasn't comparing apples to apples. I thought my Dollar rate included txes/surcharges, etc. It didn't when you add those in, the new National rate is about $50 less. Emerald Aisle, here I come!

Thanks for all of the help. Do I have to bring the Disney Club coupon? I know I have to bring the Disney club card.

Bring the coupon and the card.
