WE were planning on going in January because of the 5/2 deal at the value resort, but my husband's job is not very stable and we're thinking of pushing it back to November 2010. I got a quote and its a few hundred more expensive than if we go in January. I'm unsure what to do.

Here is a link to mousesavers.com's historical chart, that shows what kind of deals & such Disney has had in the past several years:

I've noticed that Disney seems to have pretty good deals all year, except maybe the major holidays (like Christmas week). You just need to keep your eye out for them, and grab them when they come available.

So it looks like Free Dining was offered this year (2009) and in years past there was none, is this correct?

Right. This year was the first year that the FD offer was extended to the general public. The previous year people that had the Disney Visa were offerend FD. I know I had a client get FD in a PIN long before it was extended this year, so there is always a possibility of a good PIN deal for you as well.

Even though FD wasn't offered in previous years, there were other discount deals. While FD is one of the better offers out there, especially if you have a large group with a few Disney 'adults' (ages 10+), you can still save a pretty good precentage off your total trip with any of their specials.
