There are some "flu like" symptoms floating about the podcast crew and no one wants to be sick.
I will keep you posted as to whether we record tomorrow.
As I do not (and will not :thumbsup2) have a Facebook or Twitter account....will you folks that do...spread the word?
Thanks,

It looks like the flu thing is a global phenomenon as it's "doing the rounds" here in the UK too.
I've been fighting a horrid flu for the last 3 weeks now, nothing really bad like the infamous H1N1 but bad enough that it left me feeling lousy for 2 weeks and even now I still have a "phlemy chest" and a hacking cough that just won't give up.
Luckily I usually grab myself some of the "industrial strength" cold & flu medicines you guys get there in the states whenever I'm over so I have something decent to fight it off with.
If what you guys have is anything like what I'm recovering from I suggest snuggling up in bed with some high grade pharmacuticals and forgetting the world until the worst is over.

YES!
I was going to start a thread to tell the Podcast crew that I can't start a thread...but...I can't start a thread!
I wondered if I was the only one...and there you are!
So...I don't know what is wrong...but I can't start a new thread? :confused3
I perused the site and see old threads circulating, but no new threads?

On a PC-
hit the "Print Screen" button over near the top right of the keyboard.
Then open Paint and paste the image. then you can save it as a .jpg and upload it to a photoshare site and then post it here.
Hope that helps

Why don't you use Skype to record the show?
maroo
11-04-2009, 01:33 PM
I think they would not use Skype because they are together in one room? :confused3
Most of the podcasts that use Skype do it because they are not in the same room together.
I think that is something that makes the DIS Unplugged different from many of the other ones.

Yes...in all seriousness...we have a lot of people here very sick with it (ICU patients).
We have lost at least three people that were close to DISers. Threads from the Community Board where folks were wishing them well and praying for them. And three of those have died. :littleangel: One child and 2 adults.

Wash your hands frequently -and- stay out of the damn lakes! Be careful, the flu isn't something to be reckless with this year.

FYI, the NY Times referred to the DISboards (http://www.nytimes.com/2009/11/08/travel/8pracflu.html?_r=1&emc=eta1) in an article about H1N1 and WDW/DL. So it must be because you guys hang out at the park to much...
And it appears that the DISboards themselves are infected...there are a whole lot of "empty" threads in the Theme Parks board. :badpc:
In all seriousness, take care and be well.

I've wondered the same thing. I think that it just wouldn't be the same. A lot of the funny moments come from the team actually seeing each other and the quality wouldn't be as good. But, if push comes to shove, then it is an option. I doubt they'll do it though. I don't mind. Whatever makes them comfortable. :thumbsup2

Some tech podcasts I listen to have done very well with Skype - but I think they generally use high end microphones as well. But it probably wouldn't be the same without there being some face to face interaction, even though we can't see it. Of course, a webcam could solve that... :)

The worst part of the flu in our house was the bronchitis that will try to follow it. My son was able to shake it off the day I took him back to the Dr, but I had to do a bunch of antibiotics. So pay close attention to how you are doing after the flu is gone.

We just had something go through our house, my older boy was home for 5 days with low grade fever and cough. He has gone back to school and says nearly half his class is sick, his bus was also pretty empty.
And to those who have lost anyone to H1N1, take care of yourselves and our prayers go out to you.

I OF COURSE want everyone to be and remain healthy. Above all other things, it is what I want for all mankind. If you're sick, you're sick. Stay home and get better (and don't infect others.) That the best thing to do. So, there's that.
But you all are really forcing me to work here. I'm leaving on Saturday and my flight is about 2 hours, 20 minutes. They take off about 20 minutes at take-off and landing, leaving about one hour and 40 minutes of time to fill...which the podcast(s) fills nicely. I read a magazine on takeoff and landing and I listen in the air. :cloud9:
Now what the hell am I supposed to do? :confused3 Music, I guess. But then I'll sit there starting to listen to a song and thinking, "No, I don't feel like this song...what else is there..." - and so it will go, on and on. I could rent a movie, but they're always too long to get through. TV shows? I just don't know.
I am lost without my podcast.

Thanks for the update, I hope everyone feels better! One thing that I am doing right now is going through all of the old podcasts, which is great because I get to listen to the podcast everyday! I know this isn't helpful for everyone else who has already done this, but...if you have not yet done this, listen to some of the archived shows...they are soooo good and funny. Plus they will help you get through weeks when there is no show. :cool1:
