Yep...
For those who don't know, dh was hit by car while cycling a few years ago. Car cut in front of him (driver was cited for "failure to yield to a cyclist $35 fine)- he went over the hood and landed on his head. Knocked out cold for 20 minutes - woke in the ambulance. *Major* road rash. If he hadn't been wearing his helmet - might not be here now. PBF drove me to the hospital that day - oh yeah fun times...;)

OUCH!!! How terrible about the first accident too! Hope DH feels better!!!
DS17 had the front tire of his bike come off during a trick a couple of years ago. He did a facer in the asphalt. He got a nice helicopter ride to the hospital, was a trauma alert...so scary!! And he had gravel coming out for months from that road rash!
I have to say that triple antibiotic ointment from Walgreen's works soooo well!! Not one scar from all that road rash! The pharmacist recommended it, and lots of soap and water. Worked like a charm!

Isn't it fun to walk (bike?) down Memory Lane? Isn't there supposed to be a lifetime cap on the number of times friends go to emergency rooms with each other??? I think we MUST have hit that already, so aren't we done?
Eek - hope he feels better soon! Good luck at the dentist with the chomper - hope they can cap it/file it or something to make it better until a more permanent solution is done.
Kids are home today - Election Day - so everyone is here and is underfoot! Not sure how today will play out for me in terms of getting things done around the house - couple of doctor appts scheduled for DS since he's off and I still must get out to vote. Especially to get some new blood onto our School Committee and shove the dinosaurs off...
Christy - major good luck wishes coming your way. Fingers and toes crossed for you!!!

morning everyone!
Nan-go pay bills in town---->how long does it take you to get to town?
have a great day everyone!
I had to run to the next town over..about a 10 minute drive.. had to pay insurance and home insurance... I pay it directly to the office.. When we first moved the company in it's infinite wisdom kept crediting the EX wife's account... even though our policy was in OUR NAMES! So, we started go directly to the agent and he rectified the problem.. ERGH!!!
Aaaaarrrrgggggghhhhhhhhh! Having a 9 year old is so much fun! I'm so sick of fighting with her over stupid things! I'M THE MOTHER, THAT'S WHY! Deep breath...

Welcome to the world of tween/teen girls! It only gets better (NOTICE: INTENSE SARCASM here!). Actually, it does get better according to my mom! I however was about to knock PJ around the other night... passed her skills test and therefore she "thinks" she's an expert driver.. Hell, I have 20 years experience and I'm not an expert! You can't be in this day and age.. too many morons on the roads with the smart drivers!

We are in school since it's no big election.. Heck, we were in school for the Presidential election.. :( As for getting the dinosaurs off the board... good luck!!! We got the dinosaurs off and got the EGO trip club now!
I worked at school today! Noticed the PTO people were in.. signed in..and they acted all excited to see me and wanted to know if I was there to help PTO .. I laughed and said nope, not interested in participating with the elementary PTO... I went to my son's classroom and volunteered as scheduled..
I came home to an email to help at the HS too!!! Hope to start 2 days a week for 2 hours next Monday and Thursday..:woohoo: I will be entering the forbidden zone!!!!!

Just finished taking Little Bit to school. All done with downtown driving. :thumbsup2 He got his check from the study and I'll be taking him to the bank after dinner to cash it (bank in the grocery store).
Fix myself some lunch.
Take dogs to vet. Boy dog has something funky going on with this his lower eye membranes. Not bad looking yet, but would rather pay an office visit now then ER for Doggies later.
Make fried rice when I get home. Rice was made yesterday, but chicken didn't thaw. It's still not thawed. I think my frig may be too cold. :rotfl:
Dinner, homework and swap making.

First night in the house was good! Slept well, no strange noises, although I did keep waking up every hour for the first few hours.
This morning was a new routine. In the apartment, I would get on the computer right away. Which means showering, dressing and eating breakfast wouldn't happen until sometimes the afternoon. Here, the computers are downstairs so I did all those things before I came down the stairs.
Today's list:
Prime office
Paint ceiling in office
Put tester paint on the wall to see if it works with the family room colors
Depending on time, finish unpacking kitchen and finish putting shelf liners where they need to be.
Home Depot
Costco

The $50 for the vet visit is worth for the peace of mind knowing he is okay. Vet said it looks like he had some trauma to it, but thankfully didn't scratch anything. He got some antibiotics just in case and is supposed to rest. :rotfl2: Like that is going to happen with three cats just on the other side of the fence taunting him. I swear they sidle on up to the fence to just to annoy the dogs.
Are you still interested in the LNA job?

Tonight is meatloaf for dinner I think...
AWM- good luck with the fried rice!

I always feel like I should wear a lab coat when I dispense all the vitamins we take. :thumbsup2
3/2 Vitamin D3, 1 Vitamin C, 1 Multi, 1 Elderberry and 1 Allergy - each of us. All in cute little piles, four in a row. :rotfl2:
Alex did get sick, but he recovered in 3 days with no relapse. And the rest of us, knock on wood, are doing fine.
My DH was forever sick. Really. The folks in his office have no dignity. They come in sick and spread it everywhere. Since DH started this therapy in April, he's been able to fight the virus off. He said he will feel like he does right before he gets sick, but it doesn't progress from there. :thumbsup2

Well my afternoon plans were shot when I offered to watch a friend's son- he had a fever through last night and had to stay out of school- she was home from work watching him so i told her I would watch him for the afternoon so she wouldn't have to work tonight. She is lucky in that she has very flexible hours so she was going to spend the evening working instead of with the family.
It has been eye opening to have a 7 year old for the afternoon- but on the plus side I got him to help me wash the dogs which Larry hadn't had time to help with and I can't do alone.

Ok - back from the ER with dh (only 4.5 hours)They ended up doing x-rays of his neck (which turned out fine) and he's got an avolution injury (new word for the day - basically means "gouge"). He's missing a chunk out of his chin, which is why it wouldn't stop bleeding.

it's and lna in training so starts as patient care then you can go into the program since I have a med background her thought was I'd get some credit for that. I really don't know anymore. I love working with the elderly and would enjoy it, it would be year around work verse the school year...... I'm very undecided I guess cause my mind set changed I'm taking the night to think the whole thing over.
AWM just avoided a vet visit at our house Bailey found a porcupine this pm. 2 men 1 female and a 16 yr old neighbor to hold her down and get them out. Can you tell it's not the first time around for us. Boys freaked out though.
TB hope DH is feeling better. What a mess. I dread those bike crashes hopefully the boys avoid them. Cousre we have no tar around the farm.

It's on Fox. It's 13 here. It's about a high school glee club. A lot like High School Musical, but for grownups. I love how they break into song at the drop of a hat ;)
L&O is the *best* show on television EVER. Hands down. I could watch it over and over and over again (and, in fact, I have been known to do just that). I like CSI, but CSI: NY is my fave of the three. Not a CSI: Miami fan, David Caruso is a horrible actor.

Yippee...whew! Our local election results are just in and the "new blood" I mentioned earlier DID get elected to our School Committee tonight! Four newcomers won spots and only two incumbents (the two hardworking, intelligent moms, thank heavens!) got reelected. Apparently, this elicited a huge gasp at City Hall when the results were announced. Hee hee!!
We know three of the four new SC folks and have high hopes they will do a great job. When you've got kids in the special education program, like us, you always worry about the funding levels and the administrators - the last SC gang (in power for FOREVER - no lie - decades!) seemed particularly clueless about SPED issues. Maybe now we'll see some enlightened thinking and long-overdue changes...despite the fiscal constraints all cities and towns are going through right now.
Spent earlier tonight still working on scrap area reorganization - and freeing up some shelf space for Z2H and her ever-growing collection of Iris boxes!
Hoping Mr. TinkerBean is feeling better...what a day for that family!
