Here we are Team! We have reached November. The team has had an AWESOME year!!! I know, personally, I haven't had the opportunity to be around as much as I would like but I am very thankful for being on this team. You guys give me the motivation I need to keep on keeping on.

There are several of our team members who are training for January races and I know that their training should have officially started. Get up and get out! Let's get excited about our upcoming events. Let's give thanks for what we can do. We have chosen a lifestyle of being healthier than the average American! Be proud of that. Not everyone can do a Half or Full Marathon. I know a ton of people that wouldn't do a 5k. You guys are incredible. Beyond that, inspirational! Now, use that inspiration to inspire others. Others that are there with you every single day and those here that may be struggling that day to get out and push themselves because of a hard day. You never know when your encouraging and motivating words can get someone over their hump or obstacle.

Let's have an AWESOME November Triple D's!!!!

Ahoff, I like running through areas like the dirt road, I just kept getting choked up on the dust in the air. But I have to admit if they ran the TOT 13k again tomorrow I would be there.

Hello Ducks! Wow, November already. Two months from now I will be back in WDW and getting ready for the half! Mileage for this week (1st thru 7th) is 128 miles, and 7 hours, 36 minutes. 28 of those miles (and 1:36) are from a duathlon I did last Sunday, run 2, bike 10, and run another 2. All in the woods. And I did win my age group!

Hope everyone has a good week. Remember what Neil Young sang, "get off of that couch!"

Keep moving!

Did you say 8 weeks till GOOFY !! Wow I did not think it was that soon.

I had a good race in Indy and I hit the BQ I was lookking for. It took me 23 times before I did it but I did it  I came in at 3:28:30. First time in my life !! PR :)

My running looks good for now !!

Augie....great job on the Du...gotta love some hardware!

Dave....BQ!!! SWEET! Congrats! That is huge.

Everyone else...good work. I'm still on the road, but did get a little rest last week. Not running a ton, but still uninjured, so that is a win for me.

Low miles this week, since my long runs were on 10/31 and 11/8, and I was having work stress last week (the usual. I know!):

13.9 miles running/2:45 hours
0.5 miles swimming/:20

Total: 14.4 miles/3:05 hours

This week has started off so-so...didn't get as much in on my LR on Sunday as I hoped, but did a short strong run last night. I'm sort of stuck on treadmills for a lot of it due to being up north in the cold and lack of runnable light before or after work. But I did get to do a little bit outside over the weekend, and will be home next week (unless a spontaneous trip comes up, which I'm sort of hoping for--training be dam*ed!) :goodvibes

Spreadsheet is updated.

Brian...if you can give me a little bit more specific updates on Liz (other than vague averages) I can fill some stuff in.

Cheers! 2 months to go! yay and yikes all at the same time!

Hello Duckies! I figured I will post my miles tonight, the weather is very nasty here, so no activity since Wednesday, when I had a nice 50 mile ride. And tomorrow I do not forsee any riding, so the mles and time for this week is 125 miles and 8 hours, 15 minutes.

Tomorrow I will be helping to set up a beer festival, does carrying kegs of beer count for exercise.....

Have a good weekend and good upcoming week!

Yikes is right, less than two months!

Rain, rain, go away.

November 8-14
350 minutes
38 miles

I've got some bonus miles in there, too.

Cross posted race report from yesterday.

It was not a Dead Last Finish, but it was uncomfortably close. The weather was 50 and misty. The race start was 9:00. For me it was perfect. I am a vampire runner (never run when the sun is up) and I like to run cool.

The event was half marathon, 10k and 5k. We started at 5 minute intervals. The half went off and I went to the back of the cluster of people behind the start. They counted down the 10k start and the people around me moved forward, but with little enthusiasm. It was then I realized I was surrounded by 5k people. I weaved in and out and got across the start. I'm pretty sure I was the last one out.

The route was out and back. The surface was asphalt and, while it was damp, the footing felt okay. The first mile wound down into a creek valley.
The next mile was fairly flat along the creek and a dam. Miles 3 and 4 were up and back down the other side of the valley. Five was the welcome flat and the last mile was the climb back up the start hill. Wow. That sncked. It was an uncomfortable, hurt your quads, alter your stride, feel your toes jam the front of your shoes descent and just as lousy coming back up.

My plan was run 10 minutes/walk out the mile interval. I stuck to it. Knowing I have a planned walk coming makes a huge difference for me.

About the near DLF. Until this year I'd never been around racing before. I've done a few fun runs this year. I chose this for the hurry up and wait, get your bib number on right, navigate the water stop experience. It was the right distance on the right weekend. My miles were 11:38, 11:59, 12:20, 13:01, 13:09, 13:08. With the little bit at the end it worked out to average 12:25.

That's my target for the Donald in January and what my long runs have been around. I was happy with how I did. That said, I placed 242 of 251. The pace of #249 was still under 14:00. The last two were 17 and some change. The 5 and 10k were billed as run/walks, but the walkers stuck to the 5k. Some of their pacing got into the 18-20 range. The slowest half was 2:53.

They also had a separate start for Girls on the Run. I looked at some of their information online. It seems like a great program to get girls aged 8-13 running. They gathered around signs for various localities and buddied up before the start. Very cool.

I had a good time. I gained experience. I learned I *can* run up hills. From the forecast I have some lousy weather running experience coming up this week.

DGF went with me. After the start she retreated to the car and listened to a Sue Grafton novel. I texted her at the turn around. She was waiting for me at the finish. It was great having her there and her support feels wonderful.

I liked reading about your race. Good job. It is all about the will & attitude. You have this down :goodvibes.

Thanks you to all that helped me with my BQ !! It's nice to get the feedback.

I have been thinking like SamSam..I'm ready for some T-Day dinner also.

Not much after marathon, ran once for 5.6 miles Nov 7-14 about 50 min.

Speaking of kegs of beer, Dave, you mentioned you might be interested in the brewery ride I did last year. They announced the date, it is June 19th.
Here is a link to it for you (amd anyone else interested!) http://www.harpoonbrewery.com/index.cfm?pid=28553. I can say from experience, the registration goes very quickly, the first time I attempted to register I was shut out in less than an hour. But it was a great ride, one of the most-organized and well-supported I have done.

Hey everyone! I know that it seems like I have fallen off the planet and I guess to a degree, I have. Things have been crazy here. I found out that a friend of mine that I went to school with passed away on Sunday and then, I got a call from my Dad saying that my Aunt passed away Monday night. So this week has been no fun whatsoever.

I know I haven't posted in a couple of weeks so here are my totals.

Both weeks are identical:

Miles - 45
Hours - 6.5

It just hasn't been easy to get the workouts in the way I would like. I am going to have to change that soon. Not liking the way that I feel.

Thanks everyone for all that you have done this year! It has been amazing.

Love you all!

Bryan, so sorry to hear of your recent losses. Not easy losing friends and family. My condolances to you.

As far reporting time and mileage, my times this week (15th - 21st) was 15 and 1/2 hours, and the mileage was 236. I ran twice this week during lunchtime, and yesterday I did a new type (for me) race. It was an endurance race, where you did as many laps of a 10 mile mountain bike course in 6 hours. I finished 5 laps just under the 6 hours, which allowed me the chance to continue for a 6th lap, but I stopped there. Very tough course, due to recent rain which made the course a bit muddy and the exposed roots were very slick. I was happy with the 50 miles I did. (X 2 for reporting purposes!). Though I was passed many times, my highlight was riding past three riders who had just passed me on the flat, but were walking up a hill. Though one did repass me a few miles later.

Everyone have a great Thanksgiving!

Bryan, I am so sorry for your losses. Life can be pretty tough sometimes.

I'm really looking forward to Thanksgiving with family this week. I love that Thanksgiving is all about family and giving thanks, and has not been as commercialized as other holidays.

Bryan...sorry to hear of your losses. No fun, especially since you have had a trying year already.

Ronda...great RR! good for you for hanging in there. I am looking forward to meeting you in January...if you need a running buddy for the 1/2, we may be around the same pace. I take more frequent walk breaks, but we could probably work something out if you want someone to run with. Would like to do the 1/2 in about 2:30 (or thereabouts).

Guys...I sure appreciate the few of you that are hanging in there. Not really sure why people have dropped off, and I haven't really added much around here myself, so I guess I have no room to talk. Please keep posting...I'd like to see the interest ramp up a little before January. :goodvibes I have been on the road so much, it's hard for me to be consistent with keeping up on here. "Only" 3 more trips between now and Christmas, then off to WDW for marathon weekend!

Thanks to travel (got completely stuck last weekend due to weather), my LRs aren't quite where I would like them, but I'm hanging in there.

Week of Nov. 8-14:
16.6 miles running /3:30
core :30
Total 16.6/4:00

Week of Nov. 15-22:
12 miles running/2:45

Got a decent LR in today, to start off this next week, which will encompass Nov. 22-30.

Hello Duckies, hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving! Hard to believe only a bit more than 5 weeks until the big weekend.

Wrapping up November, I had 120 miles and 7 hours, 45 minutes. 12 of those miles are a doubling up of the 6 miles I ran for the WISH virtual TT. A bit of a warmup for the half, I hope.

Have a good week! Welcome to December!

As usual I haven't kept up with reporting my miles and time. So for the month of November here are my numbers

Nov 1-7
28 miles 206 mins - this includes a 12.5 and 9 mile bike
Nov 8-14

10 miles (which includes double milage for a 5k on the 21st) 86 mins
Nov 22-30
22.1 miles 293 mins

Can't believe there is only 39 days till the half - I am starting to freak out since I STILL don't have a hotel room on site. UGH I am not looking forward to trying to get one and the price I will have to pay.

Hey Team! I know I am still running late, like what has been the norm as of late. It is really hard for me to get on as much as I would like too since I don't have my computer anymore and have to rely on friends computers to be able to get on. I did find out that my hard drive was fried so I lost everything that I had on it, including all of my pictures. That is VERY upsetting but it is what happens when we depend on electronics as much as we do.

Miles: 50
Hours: 7

Liz is still doing the same amount as far as I am aware. That would equal to 12 miles per week and 4 hours of training.

I am going to start our December thread right now so we will have a place to post. I do hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Last month of the year is here. Let's make it GREAT!!!
