OK but the reception is :
Set in the mysterious backstage area of Magic Kingdom® Park, your reception will delight and amaze your family and friends. Here, everyone enjoys dinner surrounded by Disney’s magical Parade Floats.
I've been on the KTTK Tour, that area is pretty much a parking lot and an airplane hangar. Nothing very "mysterious"

I'm am sure it is going to be AMAZING. But...for $198,000 it better be.
It says the wedding will take place during park hours. I'm assuming it will be in the Rose Garden.
Not sure I'd want my wedding during park hours with all the park guests there. I love the pictures of Lurkyloo's wedding at Epcot in Morroco, before the WS was open.

200 grand for a 50-guest wedding?! Are they out of their fool minds?! I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE WDW (duh), and of course a Magic Kingdom wedding would be a dream come true, but for 200 grand, I'd want a whole hell of a lot more than what they're offering. 4000 bucks a person and the guests don't even get resort rooms? Airfare? Park tickets? Honestly, I can't even imagine what they could throw in that would make it worth that price. At the VERY least, they'd have to defrost Walt and have him perform the ceremony.

Really, when you have 50 guests, most of them are coupled up, or even families of more than 2 people, so its about 25 rooms. For $200,000 Disney could cough up 25 rooms. BTW its 50 people including the Bride and Groom.
From the FAQ:
What if I have more than 50 guests?
Due to limited capacity in these exclusive venues for the ceremony and the reception within the Magic Kingdom® Park, the number of guests is limited to a total of fifty (50) people including the bride and groom. Ask your Disney’s Fairy Tale Wedding Consultant for more information.

OK, I just got through the list, and while some of it sounds really cool. I don't really see the value in $200k. Especially the transportation. $198k and Disney can't let you use Cinderella's coach, but an "open air Landau coach"? I believe the price difference between the two is $800. The Landau coach is very nice, but for that kind of money, and if you're getting married in FRONT of the castle, I would want the pumpkin! princess:
Here's a pic of the coach that's included, just in case you don't know what I'm referring to:

I was thinking this too, I'm sure that's why you don't get the Pumpkin Coach.

I'm sure you can pay to upgrade to the coach ~ the summary above says you can pay for substitutions. With only 50 people, who knows if you'd even have any little girls at your wedding. And you wouldn't necessarily be 'Jane Average', the bride will be sure to look like a princess! I've seen pictures of in-park weddings where the pumpkin was used. Maybe they were just promo photos, but I'm sure at least 1 or 2 were from actual weddings.
All that said, I wasn't really questioning why, just pointing out that for ALL that money, Disney could give you the "top o' the line" model.

We weren't talking about the little girls you might have in the wedding, but the little girls just in the park who see the Pumpkin Coach and then also expect to see Cinderella. I don't know of any wedding in the park during park hours. I remember one I saw, the wedding was at night, the park was obviously closed.

Not that I don't agree, you should get the pumpkin coach, but I really think the reason is because of little girl park guests.

I feel like we're both making the same point, just coming across it differently, maybe? If the park is closed (which it definitely would be), then there would be no little girls in the park to disappoint other than any that MIGHT be at the wedding, and they are sure to know what's going on.
They even used it in the wedding you linked to (which looks AMAZING!) ~ if you look at the photos of the processional.

Very true, but the description in the package says that the wedding would be held during park hours ...
"Ceremony Details:
• Once-in-a-lifetime wedding ceremony inside Magic Kingdom® Park during park hours with Cinderella Castle as your backdrop
Which seems a bit strange, but that is why I was saying that about the little girls who are just there at the park, not part of the wedding.

Yes, probably more, with the locations, number of guests, and characters. Did you happen to read the details of this wedding? They had to negotiate with Lee Cockrell to get the venue. The groom said it wasn't that $$$, but I think his idea of expensive is different than mine. He also said he convinced Lee Cockrell to consider some of it a marketing thing. (They should have given one of these weddings away during the two Years of a Million Dreams")
From http://fredammons.com/wedding:
When we initially contacted FTW we immediately stated our interest in a Magic Kingdom wedding. I am sure this is something that most sales managers have heard many times and have come to dismiss as the unrealistic fantasies of many couples. At the time we did not know that it had been about two years since there had been any wedding related event at the Magic Kingdom and that was only a reception.
The initial response we received from FTW was that the Magic Kingdom was no longer allowing weddings. I believe that FTW expected our pursuit to end there; however, with the two of us nothing could be that simple. We pushed the issue and FTW said they would submit a request to the Magic Kingdom including the minimum expenditure we would agree to. A week or so later, we finally received the response that we could have a Magic Kingdom wedding if we bought out the park for $500,000.00. I think that I laughed and Sarah at least considered crying.
I took this response as a sort of a “that will get them to shut up,” response. I wrote letters to Lee Cockrell the Executive Vice President of Walt Disney World Operations at the time and Phil Holmes, the Vice President in charge of Magic Kingdom Operations. A week or so after sending the letters I proceeded to make a pest out of myself and managed to get on Phil Homes’ schedule for a 15 minute phone call.
I spoke to him about the fact that Disney had used the concept of Magic Kingdom weddings as part of their marketing campaign. I explained that a wedding in the Magic Kingdom was the pinnacle of a Fairy Tale Wedding and to say that it was not realistically possible (I don’t consider half a million dollars realistic.) was basically the same as Disney lying to every little girl that has grown up wanting and dreaming of this fairytale. After indicating that he and Lee Cockrell had discussed the matter, we discussed what we were willing to pay for a private event after the park closed. Needless to say, we reached an agreement that made the wedding possible for the two of us and allowed Disney to make a fair profit

Of course that is true, I was really just trying to be funny, guess it didn't come across that way.
It's like when my DH's boss bought a car that was over $200,000 and I pointed out to my DH who works his %$# off for the company, that he paid cash for a $200,000 car and we had to finance a car for 4 years that cost less then the tax on that car.
I agree though, once you hit a certain level of spending, tax isn't even a thought.

Guys, guys, guys. the problem is you are looking at it through the "working class" lens of us poor middle class slobs.
I've got clients who routinely spend 30,000 bucks on a power lunch. When I say routinely I'm talking once a week. One of the gentleman just dropped 50K for his daughters coutre Bagdley/Mischka gown. I'm going to bet that Sams club has already had a number of takers and Disney is figuring out how to market this little puppy full time.

For that kind of money, I would expect at least two nights IN the Castle for the honeymoon. That would make it worth it. And maybe the wediing dinner there also, followed by dancing and desserts, including the wedding cake, over in the Tomorrowland Terrace area where they have the fireworks viewing spot.
Adult versions of the princess costumes for the bridesmaids, corresponding prince uniforms for the groomsmen, character appearances at the reception..... I am a much better planner than they are!
Fast passes, unlimited, for the wedding party and all guests, and ride down Main Street as Parade marshalls.
