We just signed up for the 24th at 9am. CM told us that as of today (apparently the policy changes often), cameras were allowed if they could be "secured to the safety vest" - sounds like it was more of a "we do not want anything dropped" instead of "no photo's allowed" policy.

We did. Then they changed the date. We thought about canceling completely. Then we thought about changing to sometime in summer.

I have a question: We were going to take the cruise line transport to the terminal from SS. I just realized it is actually cheaper to have a car service pick us up. I have never taken anything but the bus. How does it work if you take a car service to the terminal?

We have used a car service in the past. They pick you up at your chosen location and drop you off at the cruise terminal. Very simple. The biggest issue is if the car has enough space for your luggage. We have had bags in the passenger compartment once or twice.

Since those early times, we have just rented a car one way and dropped it off in the Cape Canaveral area. That works well.

I am absolutely giddy right now! I just found out that my 2 younger cousins are going to be able to join us on the cruise if we can book a room for them in the morning or add them to our existing reservation!

I tried booking them on-line tonight but I guess since they are minors they can't be booked in a room by themselves. They are 14 & 16 so on the slim chance that there are rooms available near our rooms won't DCL allow us to book them in their own room? Their mom is going and is booked in a room with our grandmother. Does anyone know if DCL will allow room changes at this point? We were thinking maybe we could book one of them in the room with our grandmother and then the other in a new room with their mom. There appear to be quite a few room categories available for our MV sailing, including the coveted interior porthole rooms. I guess they upgraded enough people out of those to open up rooms for last minute add-ons. Hopefully it wasn't an error and something will still be available when I call at 9 a.m. Sunday morning. And if we can't make changes like that to the rooms this late then we will just try to add them to one of our existing rooms if that is possible.

Has anyone ever tried adding people to a cruise this late in the game? I tried searching the forums for something but couldn't find anything other than info about the cruise manifest needing to be completed 48 hours prior to sailing. This is my first DCL cruise so I am not very familiar with all their policies and procedures.

Has anyone ever tried adding people to a cruise this late in the game? I tried searching the forums for something but couldn't find anything other than info about the cruise manifest needing to be completed 48 hours prior to sailing. This is my first DCL cruise so I am not very familiar with all their policies and procedures.

These were not present when she left Europe, but can be seen in various vids (even with welding in process) during the Wonder/Dream horn battle. I think we are looking good on food, if you want to bring something, just bring something that you think folks would enjoy!

I am picky about hot dogs and only get all beef, probably Ball Park will see what Sam’s Club has to offer. If some one wants to bring something different to grill feel free to do so.

As this is a large group and I do not want to upset the DVC Pool Gods, please do not plan on using the pool unless you have pool hopping privileges etc.

We also do not want to upset the Parking Gods, so, if you can, carpool or take Disney transportation! That will leave more spaces to those who have to drive!

Please let us know, via PM or email, what you are planning on bringing and we will up date this post as we receive updates.

Also any help with set up and clean up will be greatly appreciated. Set up will commence at 3:15 ish.

This will be my 3rd Disney cruise however I have never been to the Cape Canaveral port which I understand is a great Disney building. Are there more Character Photo opportunities in Florida than there were in LA and Dover? Is there more to do at the terminal? Should I have my princess 'Princessed' up?

Yes, it's true. The beds don't split. The good news is that all category 4's have a murphy bed (which when down makes getting to the balcony quite challenging)

We have boarded in PC tons of times and there is always Captain Mickey and Sailor Minnie out for photos (not at the same time). sometimes you will see Pluto or Goofy walk through but they may have more for the MV. I actually don't remember what they had when we boarded in LA for the PC cruise back in 2005.

The building itself is beautiful...there are TV that play cartoons for the kids...no real activities but we just like the excitement in the room while waiting to board after we check in.

Does anyone know if it's true that the bed can not be split? How do you know which cat 4s have the Murphy bed. My son is too big now for the bunk(14) and I'm sure does not want to sleep with me. We are in 9078

I was told the bed can not be split like they do on the Wonder & Dream, however, my suggestion would be to call and see what they do to accommodate your situation. Maybe they have roll away beds?

Those are good dives for sure, I really liked the cavern dives Blue Grotto was more fun to me, talk about clear water, rainbow river is also a fun river drift dive. these will be chilly dives.

Stuart Cove is a very good dive operator, Lynn still thinks the bus ride to the west side of New Providence is a real e ticket ride.

Did you get your cruise documentation booklet? There is a page in there where you can cut out cards for contact information. The number is 1-888-DC-AT-SEA (322-8732)

In the spiral small book that may or may not have included the cruise contract (depending on whether or not you did that on line before they sent them out) there is a pull out page with contact number for someone not traveling with you. Basically says you can reach the ship at 1-888-DC-AT-SEA (322-8732) and that satellite telephone rates apply and can be significantly higher than traditional long distance. (I once hear $7.50 a minute). Hope this helps.

Oh YES!!!! Thank you to everyone on the hard work they've put into making our cruise even more special. I can't wait!!! Got the FE gifts done, and the FE (I do a new one for each cruise) but for the life of me can't think of what to put on our door. Happened the last cruise too, must think of something to do!!

We have boarded in PC tons of times and there is always Captain Mickey and Sailor Minnie out for photos (not at the same time). sometimes you will see Pluto or Goofy walk through but they may have more for the MV. I actually don't remember what they had when we boarded in LA for the PC cruise back in 2005.

The building itself is beautiful...there are TV that play cartoons for the kids...no real activities but we just like the excitement in the room while waiting to board after we check in.

I think we are looking good on food, if you want to bring something, just bring something that you think folks would enjoy!

I am picky about hot dogs and only get all beef, probably Ball Park will see what Sam’s Club has to offer. If some one wants to bring something different to grill feel free to do so.

As this is a large group and I do not want to upset the DVC Pool Gods, please do not plan on using the pool unless you have pool hopping privileges etc.

We also do not want to upset the Parking Gods, so, if you can, carpool or take Disney transportation! That will leave more spaces to those who have to drive!

Please let us know, via PM or email, what you are planning on bringing and we will up date this post as we receive updates.

Also any help with set up and clean up will be greatly appreciated. Set up will commence at 3:15 ish.

I am picky about hot dogs and only get all beef, probably Ball Park will see what Sam’s Club has to offer. If some one wants to bring something different to grill feel free to do so.

As this is a large group and I do not want to upset the DVC Pool Gods, please do not plan on using the pool unless you have pool hopping privileges etc.

We also do not want to upset the Parking Gods, so, if you can, carpool or take Disney transportation! That will leave more spaces to those who have to drive!

Please let us know, via PM or email, what you are planning on bringing and we will up date this post as we receive updates.

Also any help with set up and clean up will be greatly appreciated. Set up will commence at 3:15 ish.

So, has anyone figured out how we can hang fish extenders? From the photos I've seen, I don't see fish or anything else that something could hang from. You'd think DCL would pay better attention to our needs! (kidding)

Seriously though, any thoughts? I've hung other things from our door before using magnetic hooks, so I'll bring a couple of those. But if I hadn't seen those photos, I wouldn't have thought to do that. :confused3

There are definately things for us to hang our FE's on. Some one told me that they heard it's Fish on the Port side and Seahorses on the Starboard side. There are also Starfish, but not sure where they're supposed to be.

Well, finally got the hubby packed up last night...we had to make a late trip to the dept. store after we started laying things out.....seems some things "shrunk" in the closet since our last trip, dang closet...hate when it shrinks things:laughing::laughing:

Getting all our electronics gathered with chargers, etc....got all our paperwork in order, have to type up our itinerary for the ones we are leaving behind (they are not happy), but work is work!!!

We are in the middle of an ice storm right now.......hope the roads into work are OK...must get in and finish up all the stuff I need to do today and tomorrow...we head out early on Thursday.

OK from this cruise we have three hard sided bags, a big duffle inside one, two roller bags , and two small personal computer bags.

We spent a month in europe with one duffle and a very small computer bag each, and we did the Magic repo to Dover and 1st Baltic.

UPDATE: ok - I just got off the phone with DCL...it is true, the beds DO NOT SPLIT. I am "lucky" enough to be in a "quad" room - we have the drop down bed as well as the queen and murphy bed....I am stunned DCL made this choice.

the preview cruises didn't have anything "special"....we were all castmembers and media and film people. Everybody was just so interested in touring the ship and seeing all the new places to sit, and eat, and party! I didn't even have time to tour the children's areas....hoping to do that on the MV.

I had Disney send our cruise documents to my cousins house since we were not home. Problem is, I mistyped her address and put 101 as her street address and she is 102 (there is no 101 street number )so,the documents were sent back to Disney. My travel agent said I just need to bring what we printed out and ask the portes for luggage tags at the port. The only things I printed and brought with us was the papers we have to sign for the financial part. Is there anything else that we should be bringing with us other than our reservation numbe, cabin number and passports? I just don't want to get to the port and be missing something. Any input would really be appreciated.

Please don't worry! :love:This happens all the time....all you need are your passports. :love:The DCL reps at the port can find out all of your other info. As for your luggage, it DOES help to have your ressie number, but if you don't the baggage handlers will give you luggage tags, and put your name and stateroom number on them (if you remember it).

Call DCL - ask if you can pick up the docs - they are in Celebration. Or have them overnight them to you in Kissimmee. The online checkin does most of the paperwork for you, and the charge slip can be signed at the port. Make sure you have plenty of ID...again, call DCl and see what they suggest.

This is the final list for free custom lanyards and name badges for everyone
in your cruise group. If your name is on this list, I have a name badge and lanyard for you. Please make an effort to pick them up.

Just a reminder - name badges and lanyards will be available at the following locations:

At Scott and Lynns BBQ at Old Key West on Tuesday, January 25.

At the terminal - I will get there fairly early - you will have to play "Where's Ken" to find me. It probably won't be to difficult - just ask the people with the special lanyards and name badges.

On Deck 12 - Starboard side (that's the ride side of the ship) - overlooking the Mickey and Donalds pools from 2:30 to 3:00pm - if it's raining, I will be on Deck 11, starboard side, between the two pools trying to stay dry.

We also already have booked cabana #8 and would be glad to take people to see it if they they care.

Russel TJP- 10 year old, 11th cruise.
we've done all 7 day cruises except for Panama return the first time, Baltic this summer.
Have 11 day med cruise and inaugral of Fantasy concierge already booked.
LOVE THE LONG CRUISES - who needs Ports.

Would like to be included in stuff, but don't want to crash or impose upon all of the hard work done by others.

At a minimum, please introduce yourselves.

Can't make BBQ - staying Hilton in Cocoa beach on points, but huge DVC member 1200pts (what do you expect, I'm from Jersey)

Okay, here's the updates:

1. Mini Nav in process. You will pick up at a) BBQ b) DCL Terminal c) Sailaway Party. After that, you will need to contact me in stateroom to get 8504.

2. Aquaduck fastpasses. See #1 above. This has been a slow process. 450 and counting. Hoping to cut and laminate the final ones tonight.

3. Stateroom Tour-stateroom tour will be at 1 p.m. on Seaday. Details will be in mini navigator, so be sure to get one. I don't want to post the actual tour on the boards.

Thanks Peter for the updated deck by deck roster. I will cross reference it tonight with the lanyard list and see if I have any room differences.

Yes, FE list will be in the Not so Mini, Mini Navigator. Working on that tonight also.

Coming to work early in the AM to watch the live broadcast of the Christening!
