At night, walking around on deck, are the stars very clear out at sea or is there too much light from the ship to see them clearly? DH really wants to know, he's really hoping we'll be able to see lots & lots of stars! TIA!!

There is light pollution from the ship, but you can still see lots of stars. I had no trouble finding the brighter stars, but I was hoping to be able to identify some of the constellations that I can't see at home because the stars aren't as bright, but I couldn't find them. If there's any light pollution at all where you live, you probably won't be disappointed.

I was disappointed. It's definitely not like what you can see when you go camping.

It is beautiful out on deck at night, but as other has said it is not as clear as you would think. I am sure the lights from the ship has alot to do with it.
When we sailed on Princess there was a part of the ship all the way forward that was almost completely dark. We would lay on our backs and look up at the sky. It was fantastic. We saw tons of stars and so many shooting stars.

The best places to see the stars:
1) As far foward as you can get by the outdoor basketball area
2) as far aft as you can get on the deck with Palo
We have found these to be the best but as everyone else has said, the ship lights do interfere.

Has anyone been able to see the ISS go by while on board? I line in an area with a LOT of light pollution, and we still haven't been able to see it. We wree hoping to view it while onboard.

I'm guessing you're referring to the International Space Station? Can it be seen with the naked eye? What would it look like?

Dave,
It looks like a shooting star, but much slower.
Check this site for dates/locations to see it.
