Yup! I felt rested at 9AM because it was actually the old 10AM! ;)

However, it's 7pm and dark as can be already!
Pretty much the kids will be coming home from practices in the dark now @ 5:30pm!

I think I like this change less than losing an hour. I am sooooo tired!

I started my vitamin D again today. If I don't take it over winter I would never ever get out of bed.

Ho hum. How many days til spring????

I'm the opposite--I LOVE this time change! I think it's because, for me, it makes 4 am much easier!! I have a REALLY difficult time in the spring when it changes again!!

Know just what you mean - i set the clocks back last night, but, even though i slept later this morning, I am still exhausted now!! Do you think it's a mindset? You often hear people say this in the spring when they lose an hour's sleep - hey, we all got one more last night.
I just hate it when the days get shorter - look at it this way, until Dec 21st, they sure will!!! :confused3

the only reason I lose sleep is because the kids are all morning people!! 365 days of morning people! LOL

Me, I'd love it if the day started at 10am.

We, central Indiana, just started the time change in the last 3-4 years ( I don't think it's been more than that) so we were really losing our minds the first couple of times... at least now, I know consistently what time zone I am in... used to I had to remember which time we were on NY/FLA time or Chicago time... NOW, that we adopted the time change we are always on NY/FLA time... ( I say, FLA time because I can call grams now and it's the same time here as there....I always hated making the mistake of waking them, because they panicked when we called late).

We take 6,000 IU of the D3 now that we don't get enough sunlight.

What do you need to feel human?

my kids will not only get on the bus in the dark but practically get off in the dark to. they get off at 3:45 so they get what 45 mins of light? Oh well we're tminus 7 days till bball starts and then I can run from one village to another to still a third to get home (our town is made up of 5 villages). So my average trip will be leave house in #1 drive 6 miles drop off L in village #2 drive out to #3 (another 6 miles) drop off E drive back to #2 to pick up L and back out to #2 to pick up E then back home this is going to be like round robin 32 miles 3 times a week. the fist week we go to a different village which will actually be on the other end of town. Oy gonna be a LONG wilnter. Then we get to add in games that SOMETIMES happen on other nights and now we're traveling. I'm thinking I'm going to need some of that vit D normally I'm not out when it's dark so I really don't notice it. Adding it to the shopping list.

Not only did we changed the clocks back an hour, we changed the batteries in the smoke detectors as well.

1000 but I think I'm going to up it to 2000.

along with 3000 IU of flaxseed oil, good for the heart and skin conditions. My skin was really bad last winter but since I started taking the flaxseed oil I've been able to keep at bay.

Not only did we changed the clocks back an hour, we changed the batteries in the smoke detectors as well.

Oh, thanks for the reminder!!! I'll add batteries to my shopping list this week.

Funny you should say that about the flax seed oil. DS17 started taking it and I see a huge difference in his skin too! :thumbsup2

As for being exhausted...me too. Going to GNC for stuff after work today! Vit D huh? I'll try anything... I also was reading that low magnesium makes you feel draggy too...

And I did go to bed at "7:30"... but I worked this weekend too, that that is part of it I think...

Get the D3. The plain old D is to help with calcium absorption. The D3 is what your body makes from the sunshine. Your body can make up to 10,000 IU when the sun is optimum. That time is well past for most of us. :rotfl2: I think June through August the best for plain old sunshine to work.

They are currently revamping the RDAs for Vitamin D3. They are way too low right now. They are just to prevent rickets with the current dose. There is a website http://www.vitamindcouncil.org/ that goes into great detail with facts.

We started with 2,000 IU in August and upped in September and then again in October. I'm don't think we will ever go the 10,000 unless the RDA is changed to such. It takes much much more before you can "OD" on D3. And it also takes a long time to build up in your system. Unlike Vitamin C that quickly shows a difference. It takes weeks to months to build up to a decent level. That was why we started when we did.

I did remember but then in our positions it is really important on Sunday morning.

We are finally getting to the time of year where we are outside more and make enough for ourselves.

WE changed the batteries last weekend because one was chirping at us... evidently it thought the time change was LAST weekend... :)
