My daughter is checking in on Feb.1 for the spring advantage program.:cool1: We are driving down from PA. Where would be a cheap, close place to stay the night before so she can get to check-in early? I heard there is a hotel right across the street- what hotel is it? TIA

If DD is checking in at Vista, there are a bunch of hotels right in that area. The Sheraton Vistana resort is right beside it. There is one across the street but for the life of me I can't remember the name. I had friends that stayed there and were not happy with it even at a cheap price. I stayed in the Marriott village which is across the street/beside the cheap hotel. You have 3 choices of Marriott hotels in that area and the area is gated and safe. My dad used points for our stay so it was free but they have a beautiful courtyard and food court you can go to no matter what marriott you are staying at. I checked in in Jan and we found that staying at the Mariott was just the same as staying at POP or All Stars but we had points to stay for free so that is why we did that. You can stay on property and just drive out the next morning. We got to check-in about a 1/2 hour before it started and were the 6th people in line!!

Good luck to DD, if I could have stayed longer I would have!!!

From what I've read on here the hotel across the street is the Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort. We stayed there 16 years ago and it was great! But I've heard that it's changed hands since then and is just okay now.

My DD is checking in on Jan. 6, so I've been checking around, and with AAA discount the HI is about $106/night. If you have a Disney VISA you can get 40% off the Disney resorts, making the value resorts about $55/night and the moderates about $100/night.

We aren't planning to go to any Disney parks, so we are trying to decide what to do. We usually stay at a value, but would like to have a hot tub, so maybe a moderate...or the HI, for convenience...decisions, decisions! ;)
