HOW WE MET:
Well we met at a bar, I know what you are thinking, but he and I had some mutual friends and didn't even know it. So we started talking and becoming better friends. One of the first things he did was at 12:01 am the day after my birthday he threw me in the snow outside a bar we were at. It all started because we were joking around and I told him he had to me nice to me because it was my birthday. Well at 12:01 he said It is no longer your birthday lets go... I found out later he wanted to kiss me that night when he "rescued me from the snow" but instead some of our friends followed us out to actually rescuse me. After that, well the rest as they say is history.
ABOUT US AND DISNEY
I am a huge Disney freak, I worked at Blizzard Beach on the college program in the spring of 2000. DF didn't really know much about Disney, so I made sure to plan a vacation for us to go. He is a huge Nascar fan, so for a surprise and special gift for humoring me and going to Disney I bought him the Rookie experience. I actually was able to keep it a secret. I told him we were going to the track for a tour, then while waiting for the van to get us at the TTC I asked if he wanted to drive. He was so excited just like a little kid on Christmas morning. He had so much fun, when we got home he decided to get into go kart racing. Now he and I both race karts at two local dirt tracks.
THE PROPOSAL:
I had been getting anxious about getting engaged and he kept playing it off. So one night he suggested we go to dinner with my parents since we hadn't seen them in a while. I agreed it was a great idea, he also suggested we go eat at Buffalo Wild Wings, that was where we went on one of our first dates.
Apparently while we were at my parents house getting ready to go to dinner, he and my dad had a talk. He asked my dad for his blessing and showed him the ring.
Then after dinner he asked to see the ring I wear on my right hand. I said Why? He said just let me see it. So I did, then a while later I said, Can I have it back, to which he said No not yet. A little more time passed and he says Oh no I dropped your ring, to which I OF COURSE said you jerk why did you do that. So immediately began looking for it on the floor under the booth. He asked me to sit up, but I was concerned with finding it, then my mom says just sit up a minute. Well when I did he was down on his knee holding out my engagement ring. And then I was not to nice and said "What are you doing?" Then he proceed to say some very nice thing and ask me to marry him to which I said YES!
No more than 5 minutes after, mom started asking about weddings. I said I wanted a destination wedding, then mom said well here is your budget where do you want to go? I said Disney and that started the whole process.
LOCATION:
We both agreed we would get married at SBP, it looks so beautiful.
DATE:
Well neither of us wants to wait to long (as I joked I waited long enough LOL)
He joked and said what about on his birthday (April 18th) Then I said why don't we try for the 16th it was his grandfather's birthday who passed before I met DF but they were very close. So it was settled. We would try for the 16th.
His idea is to drive at the Richard Petty Expirence on Saturday April 17th, he has been talking about driving there again ever since we left the first time.
Then we can celebrate his birthday on the 18th.

Well first I went to Alfred Angelos and the girl working was so rude, when I told her our wedding date she said and I quote "Boy you are behind" I found a few potential dresses but because of her attitude I want to look elsewhere.
We then went to David's bridal, and I actually liked so may dresses there is was hard to choose.
Here is what I decided on:

PICTURES OF ME REMOVED INCASE DF DECIDES TO SNOOP ;-)

Oh I guess I should have shown this sooner, here is my ring. He picked it out all by himself (well with a little help from my best friend) She had a list of what I have liked about other rings and what I wasn't a fan of he put that knowledge together and came up with this ring. I LOVE IT. I don't think I could have picked out one this nice!

Here is my florial inspiration thanks to all you great Dis Brides.
I want Fuschia Roses with White Stephanotis and instead of pearls in them I am thinking about having rinestones. I am still deciding if I want all the same color roses or if I will do something like this other DisBride did and have two different shades.

Well my contract is faxed in and confirmed they recieved it. Now I wait for the call...
Our guests are starting to work with the travel agent I picked to book their vacations.
I am trying to decide how and how to plan our time with our guests. DF and I are staying Wednesday - Tuesday and most of our guests are arriving Thursday and leaving Monday. (Wedding is Friday)
Do I schedule ADR's and pick people to join us, do I try to book some for large groups, do we decide to go off on our own?
Any ideas out there for me? We will probably have between 15 and 18 guests.
Thanks!

Just got the call my dress is in! Just a week ago I found it and it is in already. Also my girls's dresses are in too. I am completely shocked, yet excited. Now I will just have to wait to make my appointment to get it altered, but at least it will be at home with me.
Now I want to go see the Alfred Angelo's girl and say :-P (I wish they had a smiley with their tounge out)

Well we finally decided to book Kevin Knox for our ceremony, I let DF narrow it down and we contacted a few people and decided on Kevin.
Also my ring came in yesterday and I was able to get it today, I almost forgot how pretty it is and boy did I miss it. Good thing I got it today too, I was very sad to be without it for the Halloween Parties we went to. Tonight we had a birthday party to go to, and tomorrow we have a banquet.
OH AND I PICKED UP MY DRESS AND SHOES TODAY!!!!
Needless to say today was a big day for me.

One of the main reasons I went to Alfred Angelos was I had heard bad things about Davids, but after the night I had at Afred's I was a little worried about Davids, but we went on a week night and didn't have an appointment and they took me in even though they were kind of busy at times I never felt alone or abandoned, at Alfreds I was the only one there and my girl didn't even stay with me the whole time we had to go find her in the back once.
I am glad you had a good experience, like others have said finding the perfect dress is the main focus I just hope you had fun doing it! It is one of the happiest times of your life!

Since I am having my bridesmaids in two shades of blue, what do you think I should put my flower girls in? I have one who is 6 years old and I would like to dress my neice up as well and she will be 7 months at the time of the wedding.
Do I put them in White like me? I am afraid I won't be able to match the blues.
Do I put them in Fuschia since I want the majority of my flowers to be Fuschia Roses?
Please help! :-)
Thanks

I think it's cute when the flower girls are in white dresses that look like mini wedding dresses. Sometimes you can get your exact dress in a flower girl version, if that would be something you want! My niece wore one like that, matching the bride in a wedding. It was very pretty! But I think matching the colors would be fine too! It's all about what you want!! :)

It's definitely all about what you want, it's the one time where everything can really be how you and your DF want it. If your BM are in two shades of blue already, and the blue you found didn't clash it would be fine. You could definitely also do her in fuschia like the flowers which I think is a good way to bring in your accent color some more. My FG will be in purple to match the flowers since my BM are in gray and I didn't think that was appropriate for a little girl. Even though it's very common, I'm not a huge fan of the FG matching the Bride unless she is her daughter or soon to be stepdaughter, then I think it's adorable. I find it a little weird otherwise to have a "mini-bride", and if she's standing near you in pictures the dresses would blend and of course part of me wants to be the only one in white... but that's just me. I have seen lots of pictures of other weddings where it looks very cute and it's probably also easier since most FG dresses seem to be in white/ivory. Can you take her to try on some dresses and get an idea of what you like? I think it's Jordan bridals that have a line geared toward very young FG's, so maybe you would be able to find matching dresses for the two girls.

YAY a new PJ! Everything sounds great so far! Congrats.
I love your ring and dress. It's very flattering and I really like the train. :goodvibes
And I vote for the fushcia flower girl. Then you don't need to find a blue that matches, and personally I'm not a big fan of the mini-bride.

Great report so far - love your story. Your dress is great - sorry you had trouble at AA. I went to Davids and did not purchase my dress there but had a good experience with them. They were very helpful and I tried on quite a few dresses in many different styles. Of course they kept wanted to put a veil on me to give me the full experience. I wanted to wear a veil but I knew I was not purchasing a gown that day and did not want to do the veil thing but it was ok.
As far as you flowergirl dress goes - I would get a white dress and maybe use a blue sash in one of your blue colors. I know my girls wore red and I really wanted to have a flower girl in a white dress with a red sash around her waist but I did not have any little girls I could use. I did have a ringbearer but it is just not the same thing.
Here is something from Davids Bridal website.
http://www.davidsbridal.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplayView?storeId=10052&catalogId=10051&categoryId=-49998961¤tIdx=15&subCategory=-49998976%7c-49998962%7c-49998961&catentryId=6096794&sort=
I think a white dress with a blue sash or maybe flower would look great.

IMHO, I think you should put your FG's in white dresses and see if you can get one Navy sash and one light blue sash for around their waists from the co. you ordered the Maids dresses from. (if that's not possible then I say Navy sashes -b/c it's more forgiving in photos so there's no need for an exact match) You already have the 2 maids in separate colors and I think a fuschia FG dress would not only be too much, but it would completely take away from your flowers.
Having said that-- if you do not want the fuschia to be an accent/pop color- then I would consider it, but really only as a last resort.
As I said, just my opinion-- take it or leave it. :thumbsup2

Here are some quick updates before I head to the gym.
DF is in the process of buying a new truck/SUV so things have been crazy, he is the type to research EVERYTHING before buying.
Some pictures to share:
My head piece:

My viel and (head piece that is similar if not mine)
http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k82/cari1019/Viel.jpg
QUESTION:
Necklace or no necklace? What do you think? I am leaning towards none and maybe bigger earrings.
Ideas?
My Shoes:
http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k82/cari1019/Shoes.jpg
So I got my planner, and she is great so far she has answered a bunch of questions and replies to email very quickly.
As some of you may have seen on some other posts I made, I can not have a DP at EPCOT the night of my wedding so I am leaning towards SCP, and I still need to find a place for dinner. Sarahss suggested Ohana, and that is a good idea, so right now I am leaning towards that. My group should have close to 20 people, and I would like to try to keep the cost at or under $1,000 for dinner. Also I do want to wear my dress so I can get pictures at SCP in it.
I am open for suggestions so suggest away.
Again thanks to everyone who commeted about my flower girls dresses, I am still deciding. As a general theme I want to keep cost down for the girls parents as well so I don't want to go overboard on their dresses.
Well off to the gym, I hope to update more often now that I have my planner. :cool1:
Stay tuned!

I really like the way the hair piece and veil look together! I definitely think that with all the accessories you have already, you only need either big earrings or a necklace, I think both might be too much.
I think Sago Cay will be really nice, and it will prob save some money! What time is your wedding at? You could do a dinner at Sago Cay? That would save money, since you wouldn't need a dessert party and a dinner! I don't want to be a downer, but I think you may have trouble making ADR's for so many people. I tried to book Ohana for 13 people on saturday (April 17th) and they said we would need separate tables (and I called on the 6 month mark).
Another idea that could be fun, and inexpensive, and probably not all booked, is Raglan Road. People can order off the menu, or you can get a banquet style meal through them as well!

Thanks I agree Earrings and a necklace would be to much with the other detail I have.
As for dinner, I am worried about reservations as well. My planner said she can try to book for me, so that might help she can "call around" rather than me having to do it. The reason I didn't book at the 6 month mark was we are waiting for confirmation from a few of our guests, and I didn't get my planner until last week. I didn't want to book an ADR before I talked to the planner to see if DP were available. Now I am glad I did wait.
I forgot you could do dinner at SCP, maybe I will do that. My wedding is at 2:30 (you better remember that if you want to stalk it LOL).
When I hear back from my planner I will ask her about dinner options.

Well girls (and guys) I finally have some updates. Life has been a bit crazy with work barely let me take time off around the holidays, so working a ton trying to spend time with Family and trying to plan a wedding didn't leave a lot of extra free time for anything. Oh and since my sisters daughter is just 4 months, I try to spend as much time with her as possible!
But with all that being said here are a bunch of much needed updates.
First I had my appointment with Rosie and have all my flowers picked out.
Oh and funny story, I know someone who is married to Rosie's nephew! Small world.
DF's father passed away in July 2009, so I am stealing Kelly's idea and reproducing her candle for her dad.

My Bouquet thanks again to Nicsnick

My rose wands will be Hot Pink instead of Red, thanks to lpizzuro123 for the picture:

My sand ceremony colors and jars:
http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k82/cari1019/Sand_elements.jpg
I also ordered some scattered rose pedals for the sand ceremony table, Cake and Champaign tables.
We decided on Mickey Rice Krispy Treats as our favors, here is the picture Rosie sent me:
http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k82/cari1019/Mickeyricekrispy325.jpg
And fianlly my flower girl in her dress, I also got my niece the same dress even though she will just be 7 months when we get married:
Our Invitations, we only have 5 families joining us so I found these on etsy and ordered them the other day. This is the 'stock' photo, but I ordered Navy blue and pink as my colors as well:

Our main invite card:
Now for the insides, the maps are on one card and Ceremony on the front Downtown Disney on the back:
Other two insert cards wedding day and pre and post wedding events:
Finally I just realized I never posted the picture from our engagement night, they are not the best but I love that you can see a tear in DF's eyes. :-)

I dropped my dress of at the seamstress last week, she is married to my dad's cousin so she will be taking it in a bit and since I am short it needs taken up in the front as well. She said she would hang on to it for me until I need to ship it to Disney so I don't have to worry about it! I am so excited and can't wait to try it on once she is done with the alterations.
Yesterday DF and I went to Men's Warehouse and he picked out his Tux, but wouldn't let me see what he picked. I think since I wouldn't let him see my dress this was his way of having a wedding day suprise for me. LOL Silly men... :rotfl:

http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k82/cari1019/Dress205.jpg
The dress was on sale for half off at DEB, I haven't shopped there since high school, and don't know what made me go in there yesterday but boy am I glad I did, the dress only cost $25 and the shoes were also on sale and I was happy to get them for $27 (they are sketchers) the funny thing is my dress was cheaper than my shoes. LOL

Thank you! Yes I fell in love with the bouquet when I saw Nicsnick's photos and her dress even was similar to mine, so I was able to kind of imagine what they would look like together. I owe a lot of my wedding choices to all the wonderful DisBrides! I feel like I wasn't creative, because I took bits and pieces from so many people and made it mine.
I think it is just that everyone has such great ideas, and there is definitely something for everyone!
Hopefully I will have some time to post more pictures tonight. I also need to type of my reviews of everyone, all people involved were WONDERFUL, no complaints here!

No problem, we had a beautiful day. A little hot for DF, but he survived. ;)
Our ceremony was at 2:30, I did look for you at one point, but then got distracted with the events and didn't think about you again until later that evening and wondered if you made it over.
I can't wait to see more of your pictures, your TTD ones are beautiful!

It has only taken me over month, but here are my reviews. I hope you all enjoy them!
DFTW, Coordinator Kathleen –
She was awesome, I emailed her quite often and she always responded quickly. I also had a bad habit of changing my mind and she was always happy to make the needed modifications. She also made suggestions and asked my opinions on things to get me thinking about what I would like or not like. I appreciate her taking the time to talk things out with me, I know that without her one on one attention and her attention to detail the day wouldn’t have gone as perfect as it did!
We talked the day before our wedding to make the final arrangements for the Limo etc… and then we were set.
As the limo arrived with me and my girls Kathleen met us at the car and escorted us inside. There she handed out our flowers and we took some pictures with the photographer.
At that point she walked us down to SBP.
She kept everything moving, but wasn’t pushy. Just said time for this and now time for that and kept us updated on how much time we had over all. Everything flowed so nicely that thinking back it all went by in a blur. Which to me is good, that means there were no snags for us to remember or dwell upon.
Disney Floral Rosie –
I sent her a lot of pictures and requests, and she did awesome. All the flowers came out better than expected. When I received my initial Floral BEO noticed she had my bridesmaid wands listed with light pink ribbons, so I sent her an email and showed her the pictures of my flower girl wand we made and asked her to change it to hot pink ribbons, and they came out awesome! The other thing that between her and Kathleen that was worked out was a special magical moment for our guests. We had Mickey and Minnie sign a photo of themselves and had it delivered to Pucks for dinner along with the Mickey rice crispy treats. We passed them out to our guests as favor and a special memento of the private time we all got to spend with Mickey and Minnie. Also while we were getting pictures taken with Daryn he mentioned how I wanted pictures at a location he wasn’t 100% sure how to get to, I told him I didn’t know what he was talking about. Here Rosie added a location and wrote if there is time after it, well since I didn’t even know where it was we found some steps outside the Boardwalk and used them. Kathleen said sometimes Rosie will add a few ‘surprise’ places to the list for if there is time. I thought that was so sweet of her!
DPS, Daryn –
He is awesome, I haven’t heard of any other DIS Brides having him but we really enjoyed him. He was very personable and made us feel comfortable and he had us laughing the whole time. He told us how he only works for Disney part time and actually he and his family live in the Mid-West like us. I was a little concerned with a photographer being a distraction during the ceremony, but actually I didn’t notice him at all. I was excited when I saw how many good pictures he got of us because at the time I wasn’t sure he took any. I did have it in the back of my head to just relax and smile and don’t make any crazy faces that could end up on film. LOL Of course thinking back there are a few pictures I wish we would have taken, but all in all that isn’t his fault it is mine for not thinking though all the shots we needed. To be honest I was on cloud 9 just soaking it all up and did not feel any stress or anything so I missed a few little things along the way. =)
Rev Kevin Knox –
I read some good and some average reviews from Rev Kevin, but for us he was awesome. We chose his standard ceremony with the blessing of the hands and a memorial reading. Even though we didn’t write anything ourselves we felt the words were so true and memorable for us. Even our guest commented on how beautiful all the words he spoke and how well he executed the ceremony. He made us feels as if we knew him for years and in truth we just met him a few minutes before. After the ceremony he asked for our two witnesses to sign, and then in a ‘poof’ he was gone. Later we talked about no one seeing him leave he was just gone. All in all it worked out well we were involved in other things at that point so it might have been strange if he did go around and say good bye. I do understand what some brides express with his email ‘spam’ , but that didn’t bother me it just reminded me of what I needed to take care of to get all of our wedding plans squared away.
DFTW Violinist, Rob –
It was so beautiful to hear the wonderful violin music in the background, and to be honest I don’t even remember hearing specific songs. It was just very southing to hear the sounds of the violin. Then while we were eating our cake he asked for requests. Most of our guests just said Disney movies like “The Little Mermaid”, “Aladdin”, etc… then he got to my flower girl and he asked her to pick a Disney movie should like to hear a song from and who knows why but she said Hercules and wouldn’t you know he immediately started playing the main song from Hercules. Even though I did enjoy the movie at that moment I couldn’t even think of how it sounded. He started playing, and I was shocked he had that song in his arsenal! Then for the last song he came to us and I knew what DH was going to say, so I looked at him and smiled. He asked him to play the Devil Went Down To Georgia. He smiled back at us and played away. All of our guest laughed.
Limo Driver, Steve –
On our way to dinner (we were in the first trip) he reminded us we had our left over cake in the front seat with him along with our cake topper etc… I was a bit concerned about carrying all of this into Wolfgang Pucks, and all I did was say I was unsure how we would transport all of it. At that moment Steve spoke up and said he could take them to our hotel and leave them with the Bell Services since after his next trip with guests we still has some time left for his services. I thought that was above and beyond, yes I know we paid him for his time but he didn’t have to suggest that for us. Like I said I wasn’t even really complaining just kind of thinking out loud about transporting our ‘stuff’.
Disney Server Vince –
He did an excellent job. A funny story, is while our guests were getting their pictures with Mickey and Minnie he asked us if we needed anything. We both said practically in unison No Everything is Great! Then we hear CRASH, Minnie bumped into our pillar with the Hurricane and memorial candle breaking the hurricane. Good thing the hurricane was rented. LOL I am also glad it wasn’t one of us who knocked it over it was Minnie. =) He just excused himself and went right over to clean it up, no hesitation at all. It was comforting to feel so comfortable with people we just met. Also while eating cake he asked if people wanted seconds and served all of us very quickly. He along with some others also moved two of the tables out of the sun and under the tree with the others to get all of us in the shade. That was much appreciated since even though it was an April day, it was very hot especially for all of us midwester’s. LOL
Minnie and Mickey –
Before they arrived Kathleen told me they were on their way so we stalled for only about a minute then they were there. We cut the cake, and took a TON of pictures. Then Kathleen came to me and asked if we got all the pictures we needed I said we did and then they said Good Bye and headed out. I am not 100% sure but I think they were there more than there 30 minutes, even my mom mentioned she thinks they were there for a “long time”.
Carolyn Allens Bridal –
They were wonderful, every time I called or emailed they answered my questions quickly and we always very kind and reassuring. I was very nervous about shipping my dress, but it was the best thing I did! Not having to deal with taking it on the plane was so nice. Also my mom was so impressed with them when they delivered the dresses she suggested I get my dress preserved. I then called the following day and set everything up. The picked up my dress from or resort the following day without any issues. I received my dress back a few days ago and it is perfect. I am so glad I had it preserved.
Men’s Warehouse –
The local store was great, even though they never have done a Disney wedding, or a destination wedding like ours. Once we explained what we needed to do everything went smoothly. The people at the Winter Garden store were also very easy to work with. They arrived before we did, and we just had to return them to the bell desk the day after. My only complaint is they allow you to have the tux’s many days before the wedding, but you have to have it back the morning after. I was tempted to say my wedding was a different day to allow for us to get the tux’s back later. It is a bit hectic to get them back to the bell desk the morning after the wedding. Also both DF and my Father said that the shoes were about a half size to small even though they tried them on at our local store they seemed smaller when they arrived from the FL store. I don’t know if it would have been possible or not, but I think we should have had my dad’s tux delivered to his resort and picked up from there, it was a bit harder than I expected to get the tux to my dad the night before the wedding and get it back from him after dinner. We managed without any major issues, but it did add some stress that I think could have been eliminated.

The only reception we had was dinner at Wolfgang Pucks, so she didn't have much involvement other than she booked our reservation and got us in the limo in time to get there.
As for our pictures, we didn't do any park shoots, and we only upgraded to the cheapest Cinderella package so that is probably why ours didn't take as long to come in. :-)
I can't wait to see yours!!!!

Ahh thanks, I am glad you didn't mind me stealing your flowers. When I saw yours I fell in love with them! Your dress was also kind of similar to mine, so I was able to imagine how it might look together. I loved my flowers too, I took so many pictures of them even days after our wedding I kept looking at them in our room I didn't get them preserved because I am not a fan of how they look most times, that is why I took so many pictures to remember how much I loved them!

We are heading back to the world this September from the 16-22! With the AP rate on rooms we really couldn't pass it up. Originally we wanted to go in October, but it would have cost us about $600 more to go in October, so September here we come!
This time we are staying at the Caribbean Beach Resort and purchased the dining plan, so now it is time to try to make ADR's. I am so excited!
I know I need to do my Wedding Trip report, and I hope to get working on it soon.
So Stay Tuned!

Soooo I might have my DH convinced we need to go back in December too. He has never been at Christmas, and I was only there once. He is considering it.
We have talked about having kids soon, and both agree we want to wait to take kids to Disney until they are out of diapers and can walk 'all day' on there own.
That being said, we want to get our Disney fill now especally since we have an AP :rotfl:
