Grocery store trip before checking in

We'll be stopping by a grocery store before we check in and I was wondering if they sell beer and wine. And if they do, do they sell it on Sundays? Anyone know?

I know the question may sound crazy to some, but where I'm from, you can't buy beer until after 12pm on Sundays and grocery stores can only sell beer, no wine.

There is a Publix right outside Disney property that sells beer and wine. Its actually pretty cool, they have this walk in beer "refrigerator." But I know what you mean, where I live supermarkets are not allowed to sell liquor.

Can't answer your question but I know what you mean about may seem strange to others.

I was born an raised in New Orleans not only can you by beer and wine in the grocery stores any hour and day of the week you can buy hard liquor. (and we must not forget the drive through daiquirie shops hehehehe :):) ) So when we moved here to Dallas it was quite a culture shock not to see even beer and wine in the grocery stores. I remember once having to go to a liquor store for some wine and I felt so sleazy. hehehehe

Hmm....I'm not sure about the actual time that you can buy beer.
I do know that there is a brand new Winn Dixie off of 535. If you are on the "Downtown Disney" main road (goes right by it, and i can't remember the name when i lived there for 5 months) but you turn left at the Crossroads and it's down on the right. I'm pretty sure they sell beer there.

There is an Albertson's grocery store not to far from Universal Studiios. We found the store on our last trip and were thrilled. We use to shop at Publix but were not happy with the quality of food. We felt it was catered to tourist in need. But at a "real" grocery store the selection is wonderful.

We do a lot of cooking in our room so it is necessary to have fresh vegi's. I'm not sure what the exit is but it is either right before or right after the exit to Universal Studios.

Garrets - my sister lives in FL. When I went to the grocery store with her, I know they sold wine there, but not sure about the restrictions. I sent her an e-mail as I'd like to know this too. We are the same way in NY. You can't buy liquor or wine on Sundays at all. Only beer, after 12 noon. I didn't think about this - but we are checking in early Sunday morning! Can't sip wine on my balcony Sun. evening without the wine! (And, I can only imagine room service prices...I'm too che...err...thrifty for that!) :)

Hi Garretts - My sister wrote back this morning that you can buy beer AND wine from the grocery store after 12 noon on Sunday - so not early Sunday morning, but later in the day. Hope this helped!
