Yep. I got a text from HRC telling me the President had signed the bill into law.

This bill was even being felt close to home. Here in Polk County, a man started trial yesterday for the killing of Ryan Skipper 2 years ago. Him and hsi cohort said they robbed and killed Ryan because he was gay, and they felt that would make him an easy target.

Sheriff Grady Judd doesnt put up with that kind of nonsense, and he's been pushing for these guys to get a harsh penalty. I get the feeling the judge agrees, because he put the trial on recess until Monday so he could wait for this bill to pass.

I think this is wonderful and sorely overdue, but I'm still disgusted that there even needs to be a bill at all. Like people should have to be told the difference between right and wrong and that it's not okay to kill another human being. :mad:

Mhm, I'm another one that had watery eyes when I read that. It's very good that they're finally signing a bill for that. I do agree with PrincessKsMom, people should not have to be told that they shouldn't kill others.... It's such a horrible place sometimes...
