She's Here!!!

Princess Ellie Kathleen arrived on Sunday 10/25 at 6:10 pm, 7lbs 2oz 20.25".

She did give us a fright during labor, her heart rate kept dropping and they could not bring it back they had to do an emergency c-section. The cord was wrapped around her neck, but she came out perfect and very healthy. The birth mom did great and is fine, she should be getting out of the hospital tomorrow. Words can not express the gift she has given us.

The birth mom is Cindy's (DP) niece, she was going through a divorce and had gotten pregnant by her ex in one last night of passion. The birth dad did not want anything to do with the baby, they have an 18 month old son. Mallory (niece) asked if he would let me and Cindy adopt the baby and he agreed. They both know that we were trying for many years without success.

The papers were signed last night and the baby came home with us. We are so happy! :cheer2: Since FL does not allow gay adoption, Cindy is adopting as a single parent.

As far as FL is concerned, we'll do what we need to do to protect ourselves, once the adoption is final, we will establish residency in NJ (I have family there) then I can do a second parent adoption.
