I was wondering about buying add-ons at a different resort than your home resort. Do you still have to make your reservations 7 months out for the add-on resort? If so, what are the benefits? It sounds like that is what a lot of people do and I don't understand the reason. Thanks a lot.

when you buy an add on at another resort you should get enough points to do that resort in the time you want each year or every other year. I have VWL 60 points, so in December every other year I will get my 5 day stay at VWL in a 1-bedroom or a studio every year. (Don't get mad I can only leave my other cats for that long without them tearing the place apart.) The other years I use my BWV also in December for a 1-bedroom. I do this on the 11 month before I stay there like my home resort. I also go at other times of the year and stay at OKW.

Very good advice spiceycat! If you are going to split resorts this makes the 11 month window useable.
You can bank / borrow and manage your point between the two too.
I didn't see the value in splitting an add on before.
Thanks.
