The first night of our trip I had booked Rose & Crown for dinner at 7:40pm. I thought it would be a nice dinner for the first night because we could enjoy some good pub food & beer. I’ve been to Rose & Crown a few times before and I have to say this was one of my favorite meals there. We checked in a few minutes early and I asked if it was possible if we could be seated at the patio. I knew there was no guarantee but I thought it wouldn’t hurt to ask. I was really hoping we would be able to see Illuminations tonight as we had both never seen it from the Rose & Crown before. Luckily our request was granted and we were seated at a four top a few minutes after our ADR time.
Now when planning this trip I was really looking forward to enjoy some nice cold beer with my DB. :offtopic: On a side note, during my university days I worked at The Beer Store, one of the only places in Ontario you can get beer other than the LCBO (Liquor Store). Since working there I gained a very sensitive pallet for beer as did my DB. We were really looking forward to having some of our favorite imported beers tonight. Unfortunately, I forgot to bring my ID with me to Epcot that night. I am 23 and look quite young especially at Disney World (I actually wrote Dining World first… I have a one track mind…Food :rotfl:) when I’m wearing my park clothes and no make up. So I was sure I would be ID if I ordered an alcoholic drink, so my lovely DB ordered a Snake Bite for me.
Snake Bite $8.00
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Walt%20Disney%20World%20-%20September%202009/Picture031.jpg
A Snake Bite is Cider topped with Harp Lager and it is delicious. It is perfect blend of sweetness with a bit of a bite. It is my favorite drink at the Rose & Crown. For those who aren’t a big fan of beer I recommend you try the Snake Bite. It’s a good beer for beginners. :drinking1
After are drink orders arrived they brought some cheese buns with butter.
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Walt%20Disney%20World%20-%20September%202009/Picture028.jpg
Then we looked over the menu. Well, Chris looked over the menu. I knew 90 days ago what I was having. :lmao:
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Walt%20Disney%20World%20-%20September%202009/Picture025.jpg
I ordered the Fish and Chips. Now being the wonderful DB that he is he tends to order something different on the menu so we can share our meals. Chris ordered the Potato and Leek Soup to start (This is his favorite soup and one of the reasons I made an ADR here) and the Bangers and Mash for his entrée.
A Bowl of Potato & Leek Soup $5.49
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Walt%20Disney%20World%20-%20September%202009/Picture029.jpg
We shared this soup and it was amazing. It was also piping hot which made me enjoy it even more. In the past I have been served lukewarm soups at Disney.
My order of Fish & Chips $15.99
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Walt%20Disney%20World%20-%20September%202009/Picture032.jpg
They were delicious and really enjoyed the fries. I personally think they are the best on property.
Chris’ Bangers & Mash $15.99
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Walt%20Disney%20World%20-%20September%202009/Picture033.jpg
Chris really enjoyed this meal and so did I.
We were too full to order dessert so we just sat and waited for Illuminations, which was starting in a couple minutes. Before Illuminations began this little girl beside us had given her waitress a glow bracelet. The waitress was so touched she asked if the little girl would like to start Illuminations. The waitress brought her down to the lower level of the patio and gave her a magical wand. Right before Illuminations was about to start she told the little girl to wave her wand at the World Showcase Lagoon. After she waved her wand Illuminations started. pixiedust:
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Walt%20Disney%20World%20-%20September%202009/Picture034.jpg
She also gave this little girl the magical wand to keep and a Magical Moment’s Certificate. These moments are one of the reasons why I continue to go back to Disney World.

This morning Chris and I woke up bright and early, we had breakfast ADR at Kona Café for 7:40am. Breakfast at Kona Café is a must do for us on our first day in Disney. We were running a little late because we missed this first bus to the Magic Kingdom so we didn’t arrive until 8:00am. However, it didn’t take long for us to be seated.
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Walt%20Disney%20World%20-%20September%202009/Picture043.jpg
Since it was the start of our two week vacation I was trying to be good so I ordered the Fruit Plate and a coffee.
Fruit Plate $8.99
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Walt%20Disney%20World%20-%20September%202009/Picture045.jpg
I was really impressed with the freshness and the amount fruit served on the platter. However, I do wish the platter had more strawberries. I really enjoyed the Banana Nut Bread as I am a self proclaimed carb-a-holic. :rolleyes1
Chris ordered the Big Kahuna and a coffee. He substituted the macadamia nut pancakes for plain pancakes.
Big Kahuna $11.99
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Walt%20Disney%20World%20-%20September%202009/Picture044.jpg
Chris and I both enjoyed our breakfast and Kona Café will continue to be our favorite breakfast spot.
Total with TIW $27.21
The Proposal Story
After breakfast Chris asked me to take a walk with him. I didn’t think any thing was weird at the time as we have walked along the beach at the Polynesian many times during past trips. We sat down on a swing bench on the quiet beach at the Polynesian with the castle in the background and the Wedding Pavilion beside us. Chris took me in his arms and told me he couldn’t image spending his life with anyone else and he pulled out a ring from his pocket and asked me to marry him and I said yes. :cloud9: I am a very emotional person to begin with so let just say after he proposed I was bawling. Chris was so concerned that I was unhappy with the proposal. I told him they were happy tears. :lovestruc

The ring:

We sat on the bench for awhile and then I asked Chris what time it was. He said “Oh no! We missed rope drop! It’s 9:15am.” I laughed and said “Its ok I think getting engaged takes precedent over MK rope drop.” :lmao:

Next time at Kona, tell Chris you can get the normal pancakes on the Big Kahuna with the macadamia nut butter and pineapple on them! OMG its divine, especially because I prefer the little chunks of macadamia in the butter to the whole macadamia nuts in the pancakes :thumbsup2

Are you thinking Disney wedding? ;)
We're actually in the midst of planning a Disney Fairy Tale Wedding. :woohoo: We set a date for October 3rd, 2011. I love Disney in the Fall; beautiful weather, low crowds, Food & Wine Festival & MNSSP! A Disney wedding also guarantees us lots of future anniversary trips during that time of year. :thumbsup2
How unique for a morning proposal! I love it!
Thank you. I never expected a morning proposal, but it was perfect. :cloud9:

Aloha Isle
I have a confession to make. I have a really hard time going to the Magic Kingdom and not stoping to having a Dole Whip Float from Aloha Isle. Even if I’m not remotely hungry I will stop and have a Dole Whip. The funniest thing is that I hate fruit juice but I love Pineapple Soft Serve with Pineapple Juice. It’s something I never would have tried if it wasn’t for the DIS or my best friend Meg (aka TinkerBelle_325). :thumbsup2
The second love of my life …The Dole Whip Float $4.75 (The really sad thing is that I know this total off by heart.:lmao:)
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Walt%20Disney%20World%20-%20September%202009/Picture140.jpg
Liberty Tree Tavern
This is my favorite Table Service restaurant in the Magic Kingdom. Chris and I usually come here for lunch on our first day at Disney World. The lunch menu is excellent and it’s typically not that busy. I have been able to get a table at lunch without an ADR on multiple occasions.
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Walt%20Disney%20World%20-%20September%202009/Picture141.jpg
I ordered the Colony Salad and a coke. I'm embarrassed to say that I actually called it a Colon – ny Salad first. I quickly corrected myself after I said it out loud. :rotfl:
Colony Salad $13.49
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Walt%20Disney%20World%20-%20September%202009/Picture146.jpg
I was really impressed with the amount of chicken served with this salad. I was disappointed however with how much dressing was on the salad. It was pretty drenched. I would get this again but I would order the dressing on the side.
Chris ordered his favorite meal at LTT, the Angus Chuck Cheeseburger and a sprite.
Angus Chuck Cheeseburger & Tavern Fries $11.99
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Walt%20Disney%20World%20-%20September%202009/Picture145.jpg
The hamburger is cooked to order, so you can order it medium well if you're not a fan of well done hamburgers. I think it's the best cheeseburger on property. Beaches & Cream's cheeseburgers would be my second favorite.
For dessert the waitress brought out a small cake to congratulate us on our engagement.
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Walt%20Disney%20World%20-%20September%202009/Picture148.jpg
I was really surprised with how much I enjoyed this dessert. The chocolate cake was really moist and the frosting wasn’t too sweet.

Rose & Crown for Illuminations is just magical, isn't it? What a great story about the little girl, the glow bracelet and the server. You're right - that is the magic of Disney! I'm also filing away your snake bit recommendation for my next visit!

Yes, DH loves the Pilgrim's Feast. However, I'm not a "Thanksgiving" meal type person--don't like sweet potatos, dressing and not real fond of "just turkey" so your pics of the salad lifted my hopes to go back to LTT.

After our great morning at the Magic Kingdom we headed back to Corondo Springs Resort to have an afternoon nap and to call our parents and let them know we got engaged.
We then got ready for our dinner at the California Grill. :woohoo:
We took a bus to the Magic Kingdom and then the monorail over the Contemporary. We got there a little early so we thought we go check out Bay Lake Tower.

When I realized it changed to 8pm it was too late for me to change my ADR time. So I was very happy that we were seated before 8pm and we also had a decent view for Wishes. It wasn't a window table but we still had a great view. I didn’t take any pictures of Wishes that night. Chris and I wanted to just sit and enjoy the moment.
Our table was decorated to celebrate our engagement.
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Walt%20Disney%20World%20-%20September%202009/Picture043-1.jpg
Our waiter was very excited to hear that we got engaged today at the Poly and throughout our meal we had a couple servers and the manager come out to congratulate us. :goodvibes
I ordered a glass of Conundrum, based on Megs (Tinkerbelle_325) recommendation. It was amazing! :thumbsup2 I am happy to report that I actually found out yesterday that Conundrum is sold at my local liquor store. :woohoo:
To start I ordered a California Roll.
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Walt%20Disney%20World%20-%20September%202009/Picture052.jpg
I was really excited to see Yoshi working tonight! The California Roll was amazing, as always.
Chris ordered the BBQ Chicken Flatbread.
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Walt%20Disney%20World%20-%20September%202009/Picture049.jpg
While we were waiting for our entrees Chris made this for me.
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Walt%20Disney%20World%20-%20September%202009/Picture050.jpg
We both ordered the Oak-Fired Filet of Beef.
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Walt%20Disney%20World%20-%20September%202009/Picture051.jpg
This is my favorite steak at Disney World. It was so tender and I loved the teriyaki served with this. I actually prefer it to the Oaked Grilled Filet Mignon with Mac & Cheese at Jiko. :rolleyes1
For dessert we shared the Valrhona Chocolate Cake with Salted Caramel Ice Cream. http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Walt%20Disney%20World%20-%20September%202009/Picture053.jpg
I wished I had asked for a different type of ice cream as I am not a fan of salted caramel.
At the end of meal our waiter came over to the table and said “And dinner is done.” Chris and I both replied “Yes.” The waiter then followed up with “And paid for.” Chris and I were both so confused we thought the California Grill was possibly covering our bill as a way to say congratulations so we both looked at the waiter stunned and said “thank you?” The waiter than said that my father had called and was paying for our engagement dinner. I was in shock! This was totally unexpected and completely out of the ordinary for my parents. I had told them we were eating at the California Grill tonight when I had called to let them know Chris and I had got engaged. After I had hung up with my parents then spent over an hour on the phone trying to get a hold of the California Grill. I was very emotional after I found out they had paid for our engagement dinner. It was just such a sweet thing for them to do. :cloud9:

Initially when planning this trip I had made a dinner ADR at Le Cellier for the last night. As we got closer to the trip I realized I couldn’t wait that long for pretzel bread & cheddar cheese soup so I tried to make an lunch Le Cellier ADR for earlier on during the vacation. After weeks of trying a 12:45pm ADR was available for today.
This morning we took it easy and slept in and called our family and friends to let them know of our engagement. We left for Epcot around 11pm.

We checked in and were seated within 5 minutes.
I ordered a bowl of cheddar cheese soup and a coke. I also asked if we could just have pretzel bread and our waitress was happy to fill our request.
Bowl of Cheddar Cheese Soup $6.99

I really enjoyed my cheddar cheese soup and pretzel bread. This was the first time I just ordered the soup and the pretzel bread and it was the perfect amount of food for lunch on a hot September day in Florida.
Chris ordered the Grilled Steak Burger with Cheddar Cheese and a sprite.
Grilled Steak Burger $12.49

Great Review of Le Cellier hun! Glad to see that your lunch with Chris worked out better than when you and I went to Le Cellier for lunch :lmao:
When Jaclyn & I went to lunch at Le Cellier a few years ago we each got a "double order" of cheese soup (this was before the offered a cup and bowl size). We were rudely informed by our server that we would have to pay for our pretzel bread because we weren't ordering entrees :confused3 We asked to speak to a manager, who said that it was common practice to charge for the bread if there was no entree ordered. After a good 15 minutes of trying to express how ridiculous that sounded (all the while our soup was getting cold) the manager finally relented, rolled her eyes and said she wouldn't charge us for the bread. We found the whole situation so off-putting that we paid (NO TIP!) and left without eating more than one or two bites.
Sorry! Didn't mean to hijack, but I think you knew I'd tell that story :rotfl:
Can't wait for the rest of your reviews! :thumbsup2

Thank you. I really enjoyed Toyko Dining. It's one of my must do restaurants at Disney. Chris and I tend to pay OOP and just order of the sushi menu. It’s really affordable. They have a really good Spicy Tuna Roll and Sweet Potato Roll. The view of world showcase is also beautiful from Toyko Dining. I would definitely recommend going there. :thumbsup2 Where do you go in T.O. for sushi? I’m in a desperate need to find a good sushi place. I used to go to a place called New Generation but now it’s starting to going downhill.
Oops. I should have been clearer. :rolleyes1 Yoshi is the sushi chef at California Grill. Her sushi is amazing. Yoshi is in the Disney Planning Video so every time I see her I feel like I’m meeting a Disney celebrity. And yes she does remind me of the Nintendo character! :rotfl:

Congrats on your engagement! Yay for another 2011 Disney Bride! In all honesty I’ve been secretly dreaming about a Disney wedding for years, all thanks to the wonderful Disbride’s on the wedding forum. :goodvibes I have some preliminary stuff planned. My DF wants to have the ceremony at the Wedding Pavilion (I always thought I’d have the ceremony at Sea Breeze Point), I’d love to have the reception at California Grill, followed by an Illuminations Dessert Party. We’re hoping to have around 20 guests so I’m not sure if it will be cheaper to go with an Escape or the Wishes package. Things will probably change as we get closer. It’s so hard because you can’t really have anything 100% planned until 1 year to 8 months out with Disney. Have you check out Carrie’s (Lurkyloo’s) Disney Weddings and Honeymoons (http://www.passporterstore.com/store/1587710781.aspx)e-book? It’s excellent! :thumbsup2 It’s helped me so much with my preliminary planning.

The best way for us to get to Boardwalk was to take a bus from CSR to Epcot and then exit through the International Gateway.
We decided to take some photopass pictures because we had some time to kill before dinner. I’m always paranoid I’m going to be late, especially when using Disney Transportation so I always allow myself a lot of extra time to get to anywhere.

We checked in for our 7:15pm ADR. We had to wait about 20 minutes before we were seated.
I ordered Flying Fish Café’s Signature Potato Wrapped Snapper and a glass of Selbach Oster Spatlese Riesling, Mosel ‘07 $12.00
Potato - Wrapped Red Snapper $ 36.00
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Walt%20Disney%20World%20-%20September%202009/Picture031-1.jpg
I was really impressed with the Red Snapper. It didn’t have a strong fishy taste that some fish have. The potato wrap added a really nice crispy texture to the snapper. I found the red wine sauce a little rich, but other than that it was a great meal.
Chris ordered the Shrimp and Orecchiette Pasta.
"Laughing Bird” Shrimp and Orecchiette Pasta $28.00
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Walt%20Disney%20World%20-%20September%202009/Picture030.jpg
Chris loved this! :thumbsup2
I was so surprised with how many shrimp were in this dish. I don’t eat shrimp so I had to pick through a lot of shrimp to get to the pasta. :lmao:
We received a complimentary dessert to congratulate us on our recent engagement.
White Chocolate Crème Brulee
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Walt%20Disney%20World%20-%20September%202009/Picture032-2.jpg
I didn’t think I would be able to eat any of the crème brulee because I was so full from dinner, but the second I had a bite I knew I had to finish it. It was the best crème brulee I’ve ever eaten. I was very grateful that Chris isn’t a big dessert eater because I was able to enjoy this dessert all by myself. :cool1:

Great review on Flying Fish. I've never had the desire to eat there though. Not sure why....
You two are such a cute couple!
My favourite sushi place is the Ginza chain. They have a few locations throughout the GTA. I'm not sure where you are located but I'm sure any of the locations wouldn't be too far a drive for you. Here is their website (http://www.ginzasushi.ca/) You can see menus and pictures (just like Disney! ) Give them a try when you can. Their sushi is consistently good and fresh.
If you're looking for an all-you-can-eat sushi place, there's one off Yonge Street, south of Highway 7, called "V.I.P. sushi". Good place if you are in the mood for lots of sushi! The service is sub-par but their food is quite good. It's cheaper to go during the week than it is on the weekends.
Thanks for the info on Tokyo Dining. I'll be paying OOP with my TIW card (do they accept that there?) so no problemo with ordering off the sushi menu. I'm glad to hear that their sushi is good. Especially coming from a fellow sushi lover :cloud9: Can't wait to give it a try!

I’m a really picky fish eater. Up until a couple years ago I wouldn’t even eat fish and chips. With the snapper you won’t even realize your eating fish. :)
I had that shrimp dish last month and it was awesome and I was shocked at the amount of shrimp in that dish! Incredible!
Yes, there was definitely more shrimp in the dish than expected.
Thanks for the recommendations. I’ll definitely check out Ginza Sushi! Their menu looks awesome. :thumbsup2
Unfortunately, Tokyo Dining doesn’t accept the TIW card. There’s only a 10% discount at lunch for AP holders.
Have to agree the White Chocolate Creme Brulee was hands down the best creme brulee I've ever had!:thumbsup2
I would go back to Flying Fish just for the crème brulee.::yes::
I am a creme brulee FREAK and a white chocolate FREAK - can't believe I'm going to miss it!! Can't fit in FF this trip - next time I guess :thumbsup2
That’s the great thing about going back to Disney you always have new places to try! :goodvibes
I do have Carrie's book, I love it, I only just got the updated one though so I'm re-reading it. Just reading it makes me feel organised!
That Creme-brulee looks so good! If I had the money I swear I'd open up a store in town here that just sold yummy deserts!
If you ever do open a store like that I’ll definitely pay a visit! :goodvibes

We spent this morning at Animal Kingdom and decided we didn’t really feel like eating anywhere at AK for lunch. We decided to just head to DTD and go to WPE for lunch. An hour and a half later we finally arrived at DTD. Disney transportation can be such a pain sometimes, especially when trying to get to DTD from a park.
If I don’t eat every so often I get very dizzy and sick to my stomach. By the time we got to DTD I was about to pass out. I felt so weak and just looked at Chris and said “FOOD!”:lmao:
When we arrived it was busier than normal. I think it had something to with free dining and WPE being one of the greatest options for your CS credits.
We decided to just share a meal because we thought we might want to share at sandwich at Earl of Sandwich (I had never eaten there before and I was really wanted to try one of their sandwiches. However, I always find it hard to go not stop at WPE for lunch when I’m at DTD) or stop at Ghirardelli’s after we spent some time wandering around. This never ended up happening so in hindsight we each could have ordered our own meals.
Meatball & Parmesan Pizza $13.95
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Walt%20Disney%20World%20-%20September%202009/Picture064.jpg
The pizza tasted just as good as always. The only issue we had was that it was very difficult to eat, even with a fork and knife, because the toppings kept falling off. The pizza just seemed thrown together compared to other times we’ve had this pizza. It still tasted great though and we had no problem finishing it!:goodvibes
I was also disappointment in the service we received. Our waitress arrived at our table and saw that we were sharing the pizza and offered to bring us an extra plate. Great! We really need an extra plate because the pizza was so difficult to eat. Well she never came back with a plate. We actually had to flag her down to get our plate. I realize that it’s only a counter service restaurant but we usually receive excellent service here. I think a lot of it had to do with it being free dining and it being busier than usual.
Side of Mac & Cheese $3.95
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Walt%20Disney%20World%20-%20September%202009/Picture063.jpg
The Mac & Cheese was excellent. :thumbsup2 It was a little on the cool side but other than that it was nice and rich and creamy.
Chris and I would go back to WPE. It is one of our favorite places to dine at in DTD. However, I don’t think we would go back when it’s really busy. The quality of the food and service just wasn’t the same.
Total with AP Discount $22.24

I’ve always wanted to try WGPE for breakfast. Their breakfast menu looks excellent! :thumbsup2
We’re planning on having a DFTW. I couldn’t imagine getting married anywhere else. Disney puts together such beautiful weddings. We’re probably going to do an Escape package as were only having around 20 guests come to the wedding.

After spending some time wandering World Showcase we walked over to the Japan Pavilion and checked in at 7:00pm for our 7:10pm ADR. I couldn’t believe how crowded it was in the lobby. I have been many times before including for free dining last year and I have never seen it this busy. I really think more people were aware of free dining this year because of the free dining commercials Disney did this year.
We were seated at 7:30pm at a four top in the sushi bar area. We were really hoping for a seat by the window but we weren’t about to complain. We just wanted to eat.
Chris and I are both sushi lovers so whenever we go to Tokyo Dining we both just order off the sushi menu.
I ordered the Grilled Salmon Roll $7.00 & Spicy Tuna Roll $7.50
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Walt%20Disney%20World%20-%20September%202009/Picture074.jpg
Tokyo Dining’s spicy tuna roll is the best spicy tuna roll I’ve ever had. :thumbsup2 I always order it when I come here. The grilled salmon was a little dry but it was still good.
Chris ordered the California Roll and the Salmon Roll.
California Roll $7.50
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Walt%20Disney%20World%20-%20September%202009/Picture073.jpg
Salmon Roll $6.00
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Walt%20Disney%20World%20-%20September%202009/Picture072.jpg
I really enjoyed the California Roll. I’m not a huge fan of salmon rolls as I find they are too bland, but Chris loves them.
During our meal the Sushi Chef’s did a demonstration. This was very interested to watch, however, we were seated right beside the partition to the lobby and many guests were peering through the empty slots in the wood panels to watch this demonstration. We found this a little rude as a few people (adults mind you) had their heads stuck through partition and their heads were literally hovering over our table. :confused3
I would definitely return to Tokyo Dining (and we did later this trip for lunch). The sushi is always fresh and the service is excellent. It’s such a light and refreshing meal and it allows you plenty of room to grab dessert later at Beaches & Cream. :rolleyes1

Hello Everyone , I am Jaclyn and I have an addiction to ice cream.
I’m wanted to preface this review by letting everyone know that I have a really bad addiction to ice cream, like really bad. If there was only one food I could eat for the rest of my life it would be ice cream. There was even time where I would become physical ill when I ate ice cream. Chris thought I was lactose intolerant, but I didn’t care. I love ice cream too much, and I soldiered through and conquered by “lactose intolerance.” This is why you will see so many Beaches and Cream & Ghirardelli reviews. By the end of the trip the servers at Beaches & Cream new us as “regulars.”
I ordered a Two Scoop Hot Fudge Sundae $ 4.98
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Walt%20Disney%20World%20-%20September%202009/Picture078.jpg
I’m really picky about my ice cream habit and prefer not to have whipped cream on my ice cream. I find it dilutes the taste of the ice cream. Chris makes fun of me endlessly for this, but I love him anyways.
Chris ordered the Strawberry Shortcake $5.99
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Walt%20Disney%20World%20-%20September%202009/Picture077.jpg
Chris really enjoyed the strawberry shortcake; however, the strawberry shortcake did not love him back. He discovered this trip that he is most likely lactose intolerant. Chris does not have the love of ice cream that I do so he did not feel the need to power through, like I did, so you will not see him ordering any ice cream for the rest of this trip.
This is a multiple must do restaurant for me when in Disney World and I highly recommend it. :thumbsup2

There are two sections at Tokyo Dining. One section has a view of world showcase lagoon. I think you would have a decent view even if you were one table removed from the window. The other section is by the sushi bar and depending on where your table is you wouldn't be able so see Illuminations at all.

I really love the pizza at WPE, but I had trouble eating it with a knife and fork, too. (I had gotten the four cheese pesto) However, we ate around 2:00 pm during free dining, but it wasn't really crowded. I think their pizzas are just difficult to eat!

It really all depends on when you’re going. I'm a person who likes to plan ahead, just in case, so I always book an ADR. If I decide during the trip that I no longer want dine some where I just call WDW Dining or go to guest services to cancel. When we went for lunch we got there just after opening and it wasn’t very busy at all. I did notice that they were taking walk-ups.

We spent the morning at Blizzard Beach and after relaxing at Corondo Springs we headed to the Magic Kingdom.
The Magic Kingdom was closing at 8:00pm tonight so we wanted to do dinner at an in-park restaurant to allow us more time to spend on attractions.

We decided to go to Tony’s Town Square because it was the first restaurant Chris and I dined at during our first trip to Disney World together in May 2005. We really enjoyed it back then so we thought we would try it again.
We checked at 5:45pm and were seated within minutes.

I loved my spaghetti & meatballs. I don’t think you can go wrong with ordering it at Tony's.
Chris ordered the Shrimp Scampi and a sprite.
Shrimp Scampi $18.99
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Walt%20Disney%20World%20-%20September%202009/Picture019-3.jpg
Chris enjoyed the shrimp scampi, however, he found it a little bland.
I’m glad we decided to go back to Tony’s again. I’m usually craving pasta by this point in the trip and it filled my craving.
It’s very apparent that the meals are not made-to-order. We received our entrees quite quickly after placing our order and so did the table beside us. However, we still enjoyed our meals. I think Tony’s is great for what it is—an in–park restaurant.
Total with TIW $41.86

I'm glad you enjoyed Tokyo Dining. You should try convincing your mom to try the vegetarian sushi. It worked for me. I used to be terrified of sushi. I thought eating raw fish was disgusting. But then Chris convinced me to try the vegetarian sushi first and then slowing I started trying different types. Now I love it! I couldn't imagine not eating it!

We arrived at DHS this morning at 8:45am and we were starving but we knew we had to grab fast passes & ride Toy Story Mania before headed to Starring Rolls Café for breakfast.
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Picture035-1.jpg
I had a Chocolate Peanut Butter Cupcake $3.99 and a bottle of water. Chris had a Cinnamon Bun $2.99 and an orange juice.

I was initially planning on just getting a plain bagel with cream cheese but when I saw the chocolate peanut butter cupcake I knew I had to try it. I'd seen in other DISers reports and it looked too good to pass up. There’s nothing better than chocolate mixed with peanut butter. Mmmm. It was really good but just too sweet for 9:30 in the morning. In retrospect I wish I had just grabbed the bagel but I’m glad I tried the chocolate peanut butter cupcake. I think it would have been much better as an afternoon snack.
Chris enjoyed his Cinnamon Bun. It seemed like the same ones you can get anywhere on property.

Usually when we go to DHS we leave by lunch time so we either go over to Beaches and Cream or EPCOT. I’m just not a huge fan of the food selection at DHS. I usually turn to Chris around 12pm O’clock and say “We got to go, I’m hungry.”
I’ve been to Prime Time 50’s but I’d rather go with a larger group. We went to Sci Fi Diner in April of this year and the food was ok but the service was so bad I’ m just not ready to go back. To sum it up are waiter pretty much ignored us during the entire meal. After he brought us our check he was trying to harder to earn a better tip so asked if he could take a picture of us in the car. I said “That would be great!” and went into my purse to grab my camera. By the time I looked up he was gone. Chris and I broke into a fit of giggles.:rotfl: I couldn’t believe he just walked away. Since that experience I haven’t felt the desire to go back to Sci Fi Diner. I’m sure I will try it again in a couple of years and I’ll definitely being going back when I have kids.
This trip I wanted to spend more time at DHS so I decided make an ADR at Mama Melrose. Chris and I had both never been there before and I had heard a great review of the place on Lou Mongello’s WDW Radio Podcast (http://www.wdwradio.com/WDW-Radio-Show-Disney-Podcast/Show-122-June-7-2009.html). I figured if Lou Mongello, who’s an Italian guy from Jersey, enjoyed his meal here it can’t be that bad.

Grilled Pepperoni Flatbread $11.99

Chris ordered the Grilled Chicken Flatbread ~ with Bell Peppers and sweet Onions and a Sprite.
Grilled Chicken Flatbread $12.99

I found this a little bland but that may be because I was comparing it to my spicy flatbread. Chris actually said he liked my flatbread better. ;)
I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed Mama Melrose. I didn’t go in with high expectations. I just thought it would be better than some of the counter service options at DHS. I would definately go again. It was also nice because it gave us more energy to explore DHS.

I totally agree that the CS options at DHS are slim pickin's! We've had a hard time trying to figure out where to eat for lunch on our DHS day. We tried Brown Derby last year and it was good but not for the $$. Thanks to your positive review of Mama Melrose's, I added a lunch there for our only DHS day! :goodvibes We may even pay OOP for it so we can split stuff and keep it on the lighter side, since we have Boma Buffet that night !! Dh loves Italian food so this should be a good fit for us and a way to avoid less than stellar CS choices :thumbsup2

After our fun morning at DHS, Chris and I went back to CSR to relax and have a nap. Around 4pm I woke up to someone talking outside of our door. All I heard was “They have the privacy sign on the door, should I knock—I have champagne.” Well all it took was the word champagne and I jumped out of bed. I was in a half sleep daze when I answered the door. Two CM’s entered and set up a bottle of champagne, two wine glasses, a plate of chocolate covered strawberries, and handed us a card. I was so confused. At first I thought it was just a gift from Corondo Springs as Chris had noted that we were celebrating our engagement on our room reservation. I asked one of the CM’s who it was from and he said he wasn’t sure but he was told to pass along the message, “Please take pictures.” :lmao: I knew right away it was my best friend and Maid of Honor—Meg (TinkerBelle_325). I was so touched. It was just so sweet. I felt so grateful to have such an awesome friend.
In honor of Meg, here are some of the pictures I took.

The chocolate covered strawberries were sooo delicious. I ate most of them by myself much to Chris’ dismay. What can I say I love my chocolate covered strawberries? We enjoyed the champagne later on in the trip. I was surprised that I enjoyed the champagne as much as I did as I'm not a huge champagne drinker. It was very close in taste to Asti Martini, which is the only champagne I usually drink. On a side note, when Meg and I went to Disney back in September ’07 we had a very memorable experience drinking Asti. :rolleyes1
So I wanted to give another big THANK YOU to Meg!!! Thanks for being such a wonderful and generous friend.:goodvibes

I was really looking forward to this meal. We had made reservations here before but I always canceled at the last minute. Part of the problem is that we usually rely on Disney Transportation and it’s just such a pain to get from a resort to a resort. Since we were staying at Corondo Springs for this half of the trip I thought it would be great take a taxi from CSR to ALK, since we were so close in proximity it wouldn’t be too expensive. And I was right, it only cost us $12 including tip. Which is pretty good considering on our last trip we were staying at POR and we went to AKL for a breakfast at Boma and the taxi was around $20.
We got the AKL around 6:30 and we had some time before our 7:15pm ADR at Jiko. So we took our time exploring the resort. I love this resort and would love to stay here when we go back. It’s not even the animals. I’m not a huge fan of the animals. I think it has something to do with me spending a lot time at the zoo as a child and then going to the zoo a lot when I was used to work at a summer program. Call me crazy but the Animals around the savannah do not relax me, they remind me of stress. :confused3
However, I love the décor of the Animal Kingdom Lodge. The colors are just so a warm and appealing. :goodvibes

It was getting close to 7pm so we decided to check in to Jiko. We told there would be a few minutes wait so we sat down at the bar area. Within a few minutes are name was called and we were taken to our table.
When I walked into the main restaurant I was in awe. The décor was just so beautiful. I wish I had taken pictures.
Our waiter came to the table a few minutes after we were seated and took our orders and then came back with a basket of bread.
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Walt%20Disney%20World%20-%20September%202009/Picture031-4.jpg
I’m not sure what type of bread this is or what type of seasoning was in the spread but it was delicious. The bread was very light and moist and the spread had a bit of a kick to it. I thoroughly enjoyed it but had to limit myself because I didn’t want to get too full before our appetizers arrived.
Chris and I shared the Barbeque Chicken Flatbread - With apple-jicama slaw, African barbecue sauce, and four cheeses.
Barbeque Chicken Flatbread $10.00
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Walt%20Disney%20World%20-%20September%202009/Picture033-4.jpg
This was so good. I didn’t know if I would enjoy because I’m not a huge fan of apples. I’m weird like that.;) But I really appreciated how the flavors complemented each other. I would come back to Jiko just for the flatbread alone. :thumbsup2
I knew before I even made a reservation for Jiko that I had to order the Oak-Grilled Filet Mignon - with Macaroni & Cheese and Red Wine Sauce. I just had heard so many rav reviews about it. I also ordered a glass of the Hartenburg Riesling $12.00
Oak-Grilled Filet Mignon $39.00
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Walt%20Disney%20World%20-%20September%202009/Picture035-4.jpg
I was very disappointed when I cut into my steak. I had ordered it medium well and it was medium rare. It was bright red and there was blood oozing onto the plate. Our waiter returned and noticed that I wasn’t eating my steak because it was too rare. He was very apologetic and took it back to the kitchen. A few minutes later he returned with my entrée and said very sarcastically “I guess you like your steak well done” and then laughed as he walk off. I was in shock. I couldn’t believe he would say something like that to a customer. I was fuming at this point. His comment was ruining the meal. I got the impression that the kitchen was complaining that the steak was returned and he was just passing along the complaint to me. He was apologetic one moment and then blaming me for not knowing how I like my steak cooked. Excuse me! I know how a medium well steak should be cooked. It should be a light pink in the centre. I even used to work at a meat shop where I instructed people on the best type of steak for their cooking preference. This girl knows her steak. ::yes::
I tried not to let this bother me but when the manager came over to check on our meal I let him know that I was very disappointed in the treatment I received from our server. I told him I thought our waiters comment was very unprofessional. It was also very unexpected as he had given us great service up until that point. The manager was very apologetic and said he would speak to our waiter. I was very pleased with that response and even saw the manager talking to our waiter a few minute later.
Once that issue was taken care of I went back to enjoying my filet mignon. The steak was very good but I wasn’t a fan of the macaroni & cheese or the red wine sauce. I found the mac & cheese too sticky and the red wine sauce way too bitter. I’ve never been to Jiko before so I’m not sure if it was an off night or it was just not my taste. Chris thought it tasted ok, but it was not nearly as good as his entrée.
Chris ordered the Barbeque Beef Short Ribs - with Roasted Yukon Gold Potato Salad and onion-garlic sauce and a vodka tonic. $6.50
Barbeque Beef Short Ribs $37.00
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Walt%20Disney%20World%20-%20September%202009/Picture034-3.jpg
This was our server’s recommendation. He said it was his favorite entrée at Jiko and I have to agree. I don’t usually eat short ribs but this was beyond amazing. Every bit was so moist, tender and flavorful. It was just plain WOW! :)
For dessert we shared a Tanzanian Chocolate Cheesecake - With chocolate ganache, amarula sauce, and lavender ice cream. I had a Thunder Darjeeling Tea $5.95.
Tanzanian Chocolate Cheesecake $8.00
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Walt%20Disney%20World%20-%20September%202009/Picture038.jpg
I really enjoyed the chocolate cheesecake but the lavender ice cream threw me off. Chris thought it tasted like soap. :lmao: It was definitely a nice twist on a traditional dessert.
The waiter brought out a complementary Pistachio Creme Brulee - With a chocolate-layered bottom, to congratulate us on our recent engagement.
Pistachio Crème Brulee
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Walt%20Disney%20World%20-%20September%202009/Picture036-3.jpg
This pistachio crème brulee was just bleh! I like my crème brulee to be a little sweeter.
Overall, I would still return to Jiko. Other than the rude comment from our server he was still very attentive and provided good service. When we go back I would probably order the flatbread and the short-ribs. That alone is worth the trip to AKL. Plus the ambiance just can’t be beat

That's the second bad review I've read of the filet recently. They must've changed the recipe, because it was awesome when I had it two months ago, or they've been having a lot of off nights. Maybe I'll go to Narcooossees or Flying Fish instead of Jiko next year.

It might have just been an off night for the filet. I’ve never had the filet before so I don’t really have anything to compare it to. I just know it wasn’t really my taste. The rest of our meal was excellent though. I’ve never been to Narcoosses but Flying Fish was amazing!:thumbsup2

We spent this morning at the Keys the Kingdom Tour so we wanted to do something low key for dinner. Originally I was thinking of booking Yachtsmen Steakhouse or Blue Zoo because Epcot had EMH until 12am but I thought we might be too tired after the tour to have such a heavy meal and I was right.
After our tour is was really nice to just be able to take a nap and not be concerned with what time you woke up because of an ADR you had to make.
We were feeling extra lazy tonight and didn’t feel like taking a bus to Epcot and then walking to the Beach Club so we just grab a taxi.
We got to the beach club around 6:30pm and only had to wait about 20 minutes before we were seated.
I ordered a single cheeseburger with fries and a coke.
Single Cheeseburger $ 8.99
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Picture045-1.jpg
Chris ordered a single cheeseburger with bacon and a sprite.
Single Bacon Cheeseburger $9.98
Sorry I forgot to take a picture of Chris’ bacon cheeseburger so just imagine bacon this on this cheeseburger. Anyone else hearing the Journey to Imagination song in their heads? No, just me. :rolleyes1
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Picture045-1.jpg
Chris and I both enjoyed our yummy cheeseburgers. :thumbsup2
For dessert I ordered a Two Scoop Hot Fudge Sundae $4.98
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Picture047-1.jpg
It was as great as always :)
Chris had Mom’s Chocolate Cake $5.99
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Picture046-1.jpg
Chris’ was staying clear of all things ice cream so he ordered the Mom’s chocolate cake. He really enjoyed this and almost licked the plate clean. I thought it was a little too rich for my blood. The funny thing is when I first started dating Chris he was very anti-desserts. He thought everything tasted too sweet and I could eat chocolate cake for breakfast. We've completely swapped tastes!
I would go back to Beaches and Cream for dinner in a heartbeat. He was just so laid back and causal without it being a counter service meal. I think dinner here will be a new once a trip tradition.

This morning we were checking-out of Corondo Springs Resort and Checking-In to Port Orleans Riverside for the second half of our trip.
One of our favorite parts of staying POR is the boat ride to Downtown Disney. So we thought what better way to kick of our stay than head to Downtown Disney for lunch and an afternoon of shopping!

We decided try Earl of Sandwich for lunch for the first time. I must say this place was very busy. At first I was a little overwhelmed with how long the line was and how busy the seating area was but I figured “What the heck! The food must be good.” I’m glad I we decided to stay because the line moved very quickly. I was really impressed with how efficient the CM’s were at moving people through the line.
I ordered the Hawaiian BBQ Sandwich and a Coke.
Hawaiian BBQ Sandwich $5.95

This was my favorite counter service meal of the whole trip. The sandwiches were so fresh and I just fell in love with the taste of the bread they use.
I also was really impressed with what a great value the meal was to. In Toronto, Chris and I would pay $20 just for the sandwiches. If I was on the dining plan I don’t think I would even use my counter service credits for this meal. It was just so darn inexpensive.
Total: $20.40
After finishing up our sandwiches we did some shopping around DTD. After awhile I started getting a craving for ice cream so we made a pit stop at Ghirardelli’s.
I ordered a Gold Rush Sundae minus the whipped cream & toppings.
Gold Rush Sundae $7.25

We arrived at Epcot around 6:30pm and took a leisurely stroll towards the France Pavilion.

We checked in at Chefs de France at 6:50pm for our 7:00pm ADR time. We didn’t get seated until around 7:20pm. I didn’t find the wait to unreasonable as it was quite busy at the check-in podium. They were turning away a lot of walk-ups.
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Walt%20Disney%20World%20-%20September%202009/Picture073-1.jpg
We got seated at a nice four top in the front section of the restaurant. As a party of 2, I always appreciate being seated at table for four instead of for 2. It allows you so much more room to spread out.
I ordered the Gratin de macaroni - Baked macaroni with cream and gruyere cheese and a glass of Riesling $9.95
Chris also ordered the Gratin de Macaroni and a sprite.
Gratin de Macaroni $18.95
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Walt%20Disney%20World%20-%20September%202009/Picture075.jpg
Our entrees arrived very quickly. After I placed my order I got up to use the washroom and by the time I got back the entrees were waiting on the table. I was a little disappointed as the service at Chefs de France is usually not so rushed. The macaroni was also a little cold. I’m pretty sure the macaroni was not made-to-order and was sitting under a heat lamp for some time. The Gratin de Macaroni still tasted fine but it just wasn’t up to par with other times we’ve had it.
For dessert we shared the Profiteroles au chocolat - Puff choux with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce.
Profiteroles au chocolat $7.25
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Walt%20Disney%20World%20-%20September%202009/Picture076.jpg
The profiteroles were lovely. The vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce is pure heaven. :cloud9:
We finished our meal very quickly. We got seated at 7:20pm and we left by 8:00pm. I think the rushed service was due to Chefs de France trying to accommodate the surplus of diners during free dining. They even added an extra row of seating in the front section of the restaurant.
It will probably be awhile before Chris and I return for dinner at Chefs de France. However, we will still frequent Chefs de France for lunch. In our experience, the service and food quality has always been higher at lunch.

Chris and I knew we’d wanted to do another breakfast at Kona Café this trip. It’s become our favorite breakfast spot in Disney.
We’re not huge character people but were big breakfast eaters so it was nice to find a great non-character breakfast place in Disney. So thank you fellow DISer’s for teaching us about Kona Café! :goodvibes
I knew before we even arrived at Kona Café that I had to get the Tonga Toast, as I had passed on it on our previous visit this trip. I also ordered a cup of coffee. Why can’t other establishments in Disney sell coffee this good? Why? :confused3
Tonga Toast $10.99

I love my Tonga Toast but I really wish they had the option of a smaller portion of it. I find it really yummy at first, but by the end it is just too sweet to finish. I think it would be a great addition to the Big Kahuna platter (in case anyone from Kona Cafe's managment team is reading.)
Chris had his usual and ordered the Big Kahuna and a coffee. He is such a creature of habit. He believes if you find something you like, why change it?

The plan for tonight was to go the Polynesian to watch Wishes from the beach at 8pm then go have a late dinner at 8:40pm at Ohana’s. Well, we got to the Poly around 7 and I was starving. Chris and I were both really looking forward our lunch at the Yak and Yeti. We had made ADRs here before but had always ended up cancelling them at the last minute. Lately, I had been reading such favoring reviews for Yak and Yeti so I knew we couldn’t cancel our ADR this time.
When we arrived at the Yak and Yeti is was extremely busy. There was a line up out the door just to receive a slip that would allow you to go inside to check in. I was very glad that we had made an ADR here because a lot of people were being turned away. I have feeling people were trying to get in doors for lunch because it was one of the hottest days I can remember ever at AK.

While we were waiting to be seated we ended up chatting with another couple who had just recently gotten engaged. This was the first time Chris and I ever wore one of the celebrating buttons on our trip and we found that it really allowed us to connect with other guests at WDW.
It was only about a ten minute wait before we were seated at a table for four at the back of the restaurants by the staircases.

Sweet and Sour Chicken: Tempura chicken or pork, ginger, garlic, bell peppers, pineapple $17.49

Chris and I both really enjoyed our entrees. We found the fried rice to be a little dry and would have preferred the option of ordering white sticky rice instead the option of jasmine, brown, or fried rice. But overall, it was a great meal.
For dessert I ordered the fried wontons.
Fried Wontons - Skewers of fresh pineapple and cream cheese wontons, vanilla ice cream, honey vanilla drizzle $7.99

Oh my goodness this was delicious. This was my favorite dessert of the entire trip. It was piping hot and the cream cheese just melted in your mouth. I would make a stop at the Yak and Yeti just for this dessert.
Chris and I will definitely be making a returning trip. :thumbsup2

So glad you enjoyed Yak & Yeti; it was athe second favorite meal of our 25th anniversary trip in 2008 and we were sorry we didn't make it back on our mini trip in September of this year. Mark had the duck and I had the sweet and sour pork and we LOVED our meals.
Yes, we had a great Christmas, and hope you and Chris did too.

Thanks for the reviews! I wanted to try Yak and Yeti until I saw the portions compared to the prices! :scared1: Were the portions as small as they looked for $17.50?????????????

I can see why you and Mark enjoyed it so much. :goodvibes After only one meal Yak & Yeti has made it to Chris and I's "must do" dining list. ::yes::
I'm glad to hear you had a great Christmas! Chris and I spent the day visiting both families so it was a bit busy but it was nice.

I didn't find the portions too small. They seemed on par with other portion sizes in Disney. Yak and Yeti is a bit on the expensive side but we thought it was worth it for the quality of the food and the atmosphere.

Tonight was our Downtown Disney night. I wanted to do some shopping before dinner so we arrived via the POR boat around 6:30pm. Our dinner at reservations at Raglan Road wasn’t until 8:30pm so we had a lot of time to kill.
We browsed through a few shops and around 7pm I started getting really hungry. I was also starting to get a sore throat my this point in the trip so I thought some ice cream would help.
We stopped at Ghirardelli’s and I got a gold rush sundae and a bottle of water.
Gold Rush Sundae $7.95
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Walt%20Disney%20World%20-%20September%202009/Picture041-1.jpg
It was as good as always and really helped to sooth my sore throat for a bit.
By 8 o’clock we were all shopped out and Chris was getting hungry so we thought we’d try to be seated early. Luckily Raglan Road was pretty quite tonight and they had no problem seating us in the main room before our ADR. I also request the main room because I like having a good view of the live band.
I was saddened when I looked over the menu. They had taken of the Serious Sirloin Steak from the menu. I noticed a couple other menu items had been taken off as well. When our server arrived I asked him about this. He told us that they had changed the menu because of free dining. I asked if was possible for me to order that Serious Sirloin Steak as I was not on the dining plan. He smiled and said that shouldn’t be a problem because they still keep a supply of steaks for people “ in the know”.
Serious Sirloin Steak: 10 oz sirloin topped with Irish whiskey glazed, drizzled with gresh basil oil. Served with mashed potatoes and topped with crispy fried onion strings $26.50
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Walt%20Disney%20World%20-%20September%202009/Picture046-5.jpg
My steak was sheer perfection. It’s one of my favorite dishes on property. I love the crispy fried onions strings they place on top of the steak. It just adds so much flavor to the dish.
Chris ordered the Keen Eye for the Shepards Pie and a coke. He also ordered pint of Guinness. $6.75
Keen Eye for the Sheperds Pie: We give the traditional Shepherd's Pie (prime beef and lamb) a much-needed makeover with our contemporary twist to this favorite dish $17.50
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Walt%20Disney%20World%20-%20September%202009/Picture045-5.jpg
Chris’ Sheperds pie was always really good. It was also nice and hot. Back in April I ordered this entrée and it was served lukewarm.
While we were eating our meals we were able to enjoy the live Irish band.
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Walt%20Disney%20World%20-%20September%202009/Picture042-3.jpg
The band is one of the reasons we enjoy Raglan Road so much.
There was no need to order dessert as I had already enjoyed a pre-dinner course of ice cream for Ghirardelli’s.
I must say that I was really impressed with our meal and service at Raglan Road. The first couple of meals we had there were amazing and then the past two meals were only so so. But I still made an ADR here this trip because Chris is an Irish boy who loves his pubs and I’m so glad I did.

You could always just stop in one night and sit at the bar. A lot of people just stop in for a drink and to listen to the entertainment. :goodvibes

Great review of Raglan Road. I am glad you liked the steak. We ate here in Dec and the steak was too rare. DH ordered it medium. I thought it was quite tastey though as I like it rare.

That steak looks sooo delicious! My dad is Irish so we always had Shepard's pie, etc. growing up. I was never a huge fan of that style of cooking, but your steak looks like it gives Irish food a good name!

I'm a medium-well girl myself.:goodvibes I just started eating steak a couple of years ago and I can't eat if it's too rare either.

Sorry for the long delays between my dining reviews. I just started a new job in mid-December and my body’s adjusting to my new schedule. I’ve been so tired during the evening and on weekends I haven’t had the energy to DIS. I know…the horror! :scared1: I promise I will try to update as much as possible. Thanks for sticking with me. :goodvibes
Today we spend the morning at DHS. Originally we had lunch scheduled at Prime Time 50’s Café but we weren’t in the mood for a sit down meal and I didn’t feel like eating at a counter service at DHS.
For the past couple of years Chris has been asking if we could just eat pizza in our room one day. Well today I finally agreed. I canceled our Prime Time 50s ADRS and grabbed a bus back to POR. Chris went to the Riverside Mill and ordered a large pizza while I went back to the room to grab our refillable mugs.
Large Pepperoni Pizza $15.49
http://i683.photobucket.com/albums/vv199/Belle3724/Walt%20Disney%20World%20-%20September%202009/Picture032-7.jpg
I’ve read some negative reviews of the pizza on property so I didn’t have the highest expectations. I must say I was pleasantly surprised. The pizza was perfectly cooked. It has crispy pepperoni and dough that wasn’t over or under cooked.
We also got a bottle of water to share and 2 chocolate cupcakes with vanilla frosting (sorry I forgot to take a picture of the cupcakes.) The cupcakes were so good. Chocolate with vanilla frosting is my favorite type of cupcake/cake combo. The cake was was so light and the frosting wasn’t too sweet.
I found this lunch option to be a great deal. We had plenty of leftovers which Chris enjoyed as a late night snack. We just asked for extra plates and the plastic covers when we got our pizza so that we could store the leftovers in the mini fridge. It worked out great! Our lunch wasn’t fancy but it was nice just to be able to eat lunch in our room. We even had time to hit the pool before our daily afternoon nap.

Chris had his usual and ordered the Big Kahuna and a coffee. He is such a creature of habit. He believes if you find something you like, why change it?
That's a good thing! Isn't that why he proposed...He found something he liked, and he's not changing it...
Very adventurous of you guys to go out of your way for breakfast...We never do that! But we have a kid and a mother in law...we stick to breakfast at the parks or at our resort.
