Hello everyone! Just got done posting my birthday trip, so immedialy I must start the PTR for our next trip in early december. All the usual suspects are heading back down.

Me and Disney wife, and my mother and sister!

We are staying at the quality inn and suites right down the road. And my sis and mom are staying at the park entrance best western from 12/3 through the 6th. it should be an awesome trip, we love the park during christmas :goodvibes

Yay!! Only 1 month and 6 days to go (according to my ticker)!!

I can't wait for our annual Christmas Disneyland trip. Something about the holidays makes Disneyland even more magical. I had to include my two favorite things in Disneyland during the holidays.

The outside of It's a Small World

And the castle of course!

I also love Main Street with all of the garland and wreaths shaped like Mickey heads.

The only thing I'm worried about this trip is the hotel. We had to do a budget trip since, like most people, the economy has us tightening our purse strings. So the room was only $77 a night and I'm a little worried about the quality, particularly the highway noise. I plan on getting a sound machine to bring down with us to try to help drown out any highway (or other room) noise. Has anyone stayed at this hotel before?

*Phew* Glad I found this. :lmao:

Have not stayed at that hotel, but hope it turns out ok for you guys! Is it refundable? Maybe you'll find a decent deal on a better hotel before then. Yikes, I can't believe it's nearly November.

Wishing I could be planning a Christmas trip, but instead, subscribing.

Yay!! You are here and are our first subscriber! I have some news about where we are staying coming up...

I can't believe it's almost November either!! The fall is flying by so quickly. After Halloween it's all a blur.

Don't worry - you can live vicariously through us! :rotfl:

So yesterday, while looking for our confirmation email for our hotel, I happened to get back to the Quality Inn and Suites page on Priceline (where I made the reservation). Well, there were some recent reviews from September and October where two people had found cockroaches in the bathroom!! :scared1: Plus, there were 3 or 4 reviews about how gross the bathrooms were and stating that they would never stay there again. So...Jason and I talked about it and decided to look for somewhere else to stay. We are a little more stable financially since we booked the room back in August so paying $100 to $150 more for a hotel seemed doable and worth it.

After talking to Linda and Jaime we decided to cancel our reservation at the Quality Inn, they decided to cancel their reservation at the Best Western and we are going to split a Deluxe Family Suite at the Anaheim Camelot Inn and Suites!! :cool1:

https://gc.synxis.com/3129e655e04b405482d42cfdce93995f.media

There are two rooms; one with a king bed and a pull out sofa bed that Jason and I will take, and a second room with two queen beds that Linda and Jaime will share. It will be SO nice to all be staying not only at the same hotel, but in the same room! We had such a great time sharing a room with Linda on our last trip, I'm sure it will be even more fun with Jaime there. Plus, we all have our own space if we want to chill out.

We all love this hotel and are even more excited for this trip after changing our plans! :goodvibes

On Saturday we went down to Napa where Jason's dad has a golf store . Napa has a very cute parade for all the kids and then they Trick-or-Treat at all the stores in the area. Here are some cute pictures.

Yay, glad you upgraded your hotel room.

No COSTUMES though?! Disappointed. Heehee. I really liked the pic of the parade with the Gingy costume though! How cute.

Add that as another thing my Jason likes: golf. (I assume you like it too if your Dad owns a golf store!)

It'll be here before you know it.

I am too - It will be so much more enjoyable without cockroaches! :rotfl:

I know, we are super lame. Maybe next year we'll dress up. The gingerbread boy was adorable and there was one kid dressed as Big Ben! He actually chimed the time when he came up for candy! So cool! And apparently Snow White was the most popular princess this year because we must have seen 20 of them.

Jason does like golf, he played on his high school and junior college golf teams. He's a bit less in love with it now, I think he got tired of playing golf every day! :lmao:

Only 3 weeks and two days to go!! :goodvibes

Okay, now I am worried. That is where we are booked for December (the one on Manchester, right?). All the recent reviews on tripadvisor have been really good, and on another Disney forum, I heard a lot of good reviews. Hmmm, now I need to look for a backup option.

Yep - that's the one! The reviews with the cockroaches were posted on priceline in September and October. You may be just fine. From what I gathered, it seemed like some of the rooms have been redone and some haven't. We've had some bad experiences at hotels before (crying babies, and I mean like blood curling, the baby was about to die crying, poor customer service, no air conditioning) and it has made our trips almost unbearable. So for us, it was worth another $100 to stay where we knew we would have a clean and quite room. I'm sure you can find a deal somewhere else as it gets closer. :)

So I have some awesome news regarding our trip. My parents will be joining us!!! My mom really wanted to go but didn't know if she was going to be too busy at work to come. She runs a Cardiac Care Unit and the hospital has just finished building a new ICU tower. She is SO busy with planning for the move from the old unit to the new one that she didn't think she'd be able to come. Well, the move date for the tower has been pushed back and she's made reservations for her and my dad to stay at the Fairfield Inn Anaheim. :goodvibes

http://cache.marriott.com/propertyimages/l/laxoc/phototour/laxoc_phototour01.jpg?Log=1

It's pretty much right next door to where we are staying which will be very nice.

Here is a picture of my mom and I from our trip to DL last Christmas

My dad has never been to DL during the Christmas season so I'm really excited for him to see how even more magical it is.

Here is a picture of my mom and dad at the Ahwahnee in Yosemite

This weekend Jason and I got our Christmas tree! We drove up to Apple Hill (a little place full of apple and Christmas tree farms in the Sierra Nevada foothills). It's been a tradition to go there and get a tree for about 3 years now. Here are some pictures:

At 4:30 I'll be on my way to Fairfield to meet up with the rest of "the usual suspects". We have packing and Disney watching to do! I saw a post on facebook today about a special on ABC Family; they are airing 20 of the Pixar shorts tonight at 7 so I think we'll watch those. They are always so sweet and funny!

On December 3rd we woke up bright and early at 3 am! :scared1: We got dressed and ready (which meant all three girls did their hair :lmao:) and left the house promptly at 4am. Being the master packer that I am, I was in charge of getting all of our luggage squeezed into the back of the Highlander. Poor Jason couldn't see out the back but I did get it all in!

We all slept on and off on the way down and shockingly only stopped twice! That is a record low for us. :lmao: When we hit the Grapevine we were greeted with this view:

http://photos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs095.snc3/16240_581408949940_29906113_33992708_4570913_n.jpg

Upon which I commented "look at the fog!" and everyone else in the car said "that's smog you dummy!". I still like to think of it as fog if only because it's less gross.

We got to the Anaheim Camelot Inn and Suites right around 11. We were set to arrive at 10:30 but there was a wreck in LA and we got stuck in traffic, boo!! After checking in we headed over to the park and Jaime bought her 3 hopper pass. We headed into the park and were immediately awed by the beautiful Christmas decorations. I love the huge Christmas tree and all of the garland that crosses Main Street. The characters were out and we saw Mickey and Goofy dressed in their Christmas sweaters:

http://photos-d.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs115.snc3/16240_581408959920_29906113_33992710_2745987_n.jpg

Of course we had to keep with tradition and fastpass Indy and then get on POTC. There was hardly any line for Indy so we got on that right after POTC. I believe after that we headed over to Critter Country to ride Whinnie the Pooh. On the way we ran into the Showboat Jubilee

http://photos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs115.snc3/16240_581408969900_29906113_33992712_1747413_n.jpg

After we hit Whinnie the Pooh we all decided it was time for some lunch. Of course we headed over to ESPN Zone and we changed up what we ordered a little bit. Jason and I split a bbq chicken pizza (delicious!) and Linda and Jaime split the pulled pork sliders which they loved. We also got an order of cheesy fries. Yum!

Jaime decided we needed a shot (great - I swear her love of shot taking is why I got sick! Every time I stick to beer in Disneyland I don't get sick and every time I drink any hard liquor I get sick. That's my theory). Anyways...we headed over to the Rainforest Cafe to get a Lemon Drop shot.

I believe we did HM, Big Thunder, and the Matterhorn and were getting a little hungry by then.

Jason and I chose to go back to the room to rest a little bit and have some snacks. Linda and Jaime chose to stay in the park for a little while longer.

My parents drove down later in the morning and ended up arriving at their hotel around 6. They ate at Tortilla Joes and we all met up at UVA and had a couple of drinks together. Around 10:30 we all headed back to our rooms to rest up for a day of fun in the parks together the next day!

omg we have been freaking slacking! We just forgot about our TR because we have been through another upheaval. Long story short, I lost my job again so we've just been surviving and moving along. Fear not however, I will complete this TR so I can start our next PTR, did I mention we have a trip planned for the end of May? :thumbsup2

More to follow!

So we got up early the next morning to experience some Disney magic. We decided that this morning was going to be all about fantasyland. But before we heading into fantasyland we decided the light was perfect for a pic in front of Mickey so we did just that!

http://hphotos-snc3.fbcdn.net/hs115.snc3/16240_581409074690_29906113_33992732_7419718_n.jpg

After that we went into fantasy land. We did all the dark rides and then realized something... We have never been on the carousel! So we went on the kiddest kid ride there is.

http://photos-d.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs115.snc3/16240_581409079680_29906113_33992733_4991231_n.jpg

After the Fantasyland goodness, we headed over to the matterhorn to get a few thrills.

More is coming! I promise!

After Fantasy Land we headed over to Space Mountain to get some fast passes. On the way we saw the only menorah in the park

http://hphotos-snc3.fbcdn.net/hs095.snc3/16240_581409099640_29906113_33992736_4968670_n.jpg

We also took a group shot in front of the castle

http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs189.snc3/19644_589415893960_29906113_34277719_7882997_n.jpg

There was only a 10 minute wait for Space Mountain so we decided what the heck, lets just ride it now! Here is a picture of our picture:

My dad's friend from high school, Danny joined us this day. I love how both my dad and Danny are just calmly sitting in the front seat as if Space wasn't anything, and the rest of us are screaming our heads off!

I believe we went over to New Orleans Square to ride Pirates and Haunted Mansion. We also shopped around in all of the little shops back there. We saw them filming a Christmas commercial right in front of the soup place!

Jason and I decided to have a date night. Being with all of your family 24/7 can be a little much so we headed over to Naples for some pizza and alone time. We took some pictures in front of the candy cane DCA sign.

Hey there strangers! Sorry to hear about you losing your job :headache:

You seem to have a pretty good memory, or just a good timeline of photos to go by.

Glad to see you guys have another trip planned. We might go somewhere later in the fall, but we'll have wait and see. This weekend we're going down to Seattle for some shopping/eating/drinking and relaxation! The weather's supposed to be crappy though.

I really like your plaid shirt and your blue coat in that last pic!

Thanks! I'm glad you like my fashion sense :goodvibes

Thanks to you both for the thoughts about Jason losing his job. It's been rough but as long as we tough it out together it'll be ok. :)

So the last we left off we were on the Jungle Cruise at night. We decided we wanted to see the Christmas parade and made our way over to the hub. We found a free bench near the Carnation Inn (by the sign where the ride times are posted) and I went to get mom and I hot chocolate. Well, the line was SUPER long and 30 minutes later we got hot chocolate. The only reason it was worth waiting for was because we brought some peppermint schnapps and we make a very awesome drink with hot coco and schnapps. So mom and I merrily drank our "snugglers" and we all watched the parade. Here are some pics:

Jaime and Linda had very late reservations for Club 33 because they wanted to watch Fantasmic from the balcony. We ran into them in NOS after the parade.

http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc3/hs169.snc3/19644_589416028690_29906113_34277745_6868766_n.jpg

After some NOS sightseeing we claimed a spot for the second Fantasmic show. It was the first time my dad had seen it and he loved it! He was such a trooper. He had a cold the whole time we were there but he pushed through it and stayed until 10 to watch. I think he was glad he did.

Coming up...what adventures will our 3rd day bring? Will the Cove Bar make an appearance?

I'm gonna say...... YES! I love all the Christmas decorations, so pretty!

Seattle was fun, except for the extra long ferry ride from the island due to the stormy weather and a 2.5 hour wait at the border! We like to ski/snowboard too, should have done that this weekend instead. Just a three hour drive to over 20 feet of snow. Except that I'm kind of ready for spring now. And all it did was make us want a longer vacation! We're thinking Disneyland in early October.

That's why we love going in December! The Christmas decorations make it all the more magical. As for the Cove bar...how did you know!? haha We Covey's love our bars :lmao:

I'm sorry to hear about the long wait and the stormy ride! I know what you mean about being ready for spring. We got a taste of summer weather last week and now it's rainy and cold again. There's actually a winter storm warning here right now! We ended up not going skiing because it was going to be so cold and windy. If I ski in April its going to be spring skiing in a t-shirt! :rotfl:

So we all got up bright and early to hit Fantasyland! Well, everyone besides my parents. My mom always loves to sleep in and my dad was still a little sick with his cold so they joined us later in the morning. So Jason, I, Linda and Jaime headed into the park to get on some Fantasyland rides. We rode Storybook Land:

There's where I want to live someday! haha

After Storybook Land we headed over to It's a Small World. Now, Jason can handle this ride a good...ONE time per trip. I think we'd already used up his quota because this is the look I got when we were on the boat in:

They were feeding this huge goose (the one that gets pardoned) and for some reason the quacking/squawking sounds it was making panicked the reindeer! They got all agitated and stayed as far away from the goose as possible. It was hilarious!

We then met up with my parents and rode the Matterhorn

I can't wait for the world of color. It looks so awesome! :cheer2:

As we were leaving we saw the little princess lunch they do. There were teaching these little girls how to dance! Now I can't wait to have a daughter. Sorry Jason! :p

We all needed a break so we went back to our room and took a much needed nap.

Coming up...how did we spend our last night in Disneyland!?!?

So after we took a nice nap and a rest at the hotel we headed out to get some dinner. I think that Jaime and Linda had never taken a break so Jason, I, and my parents all met up with them at UVA bar. Jason and dad split a pizza and mom and I both had French onion soup. Delicious! It was kind of a cold damp evening and some soup was just what the doctor ordered. :goodvibes

I believe we went over to ride POTC one last time and then explored the secret staircase in NOS. It's where Princess Tiana was doing character greets all day.

We headed over to ride Big Thunder again and got some pictures in front of the castle

We then went over to claim a spot for the second showing of Fantasmic. We caught the end of the fireworks from NOS and they make it snow there too!

I then proceeded to take very blurry pictures of Disneyland...it looked a lot better in person! :rotfl:

Note to self...get a better camera soon...

Smooch!

We saw Fantasmic one last time (it was awesome per usual) and then called it a night. All in all, we had a great trip and I was so glad that my parents, especially my dad, were able to see Disneyland at Christmas time. Seeing Disneyland with all of the beautiful Christmas decorations was so special but we both can't wait to see Disneyland back to normal in May. Stay tuned for a PTR shortly! I promise we'll finish this one much sooner then this December one! :lmao:

Great trip! I wish my family would go with me... they drink as much as Jason and I do :lmao: We're trying to convince my brother to come with us in October, but he doesn't plan that far ahead.
