.....I became extremely giddy with uncontrollable laughter upon seeing a recent picture of a particular person who has put on what looks to be around 75 pounds? :rolleyes1 Don't get me wrong--I like beefy guys (quite a bit, actually), but the guy I'm referring to did not....um......"balloon up" well.....nor has he aged well since the last time I saw him.

Facebook is a baaaad, bad thing.

MonorailMan,

I don't think you're mean. And besides that, I am a beefy guy hehe. Not to mention, we're in the same state. You should hit me up sometime.

I recently had lunch with my first friend I ever had here in O town.

We went back to her house and looked at friends pics on Facebook and laughed our rears off!

So you are not alone!

I guess I should've mentioned the guy I was laughing at was an ex who put me through about 18 months of pure Hell. This wasn't a kind-hearted laughter. It was "schadenfreude laughter". :rolleyes1

In that case, not only are you allowed to laugh at him behind his back, but you're allowed to point and laugh in his face . . . publicly. :thumbsup2

That would make a great party theme, don't ya think? :cool1: I can see the invitations now: You are invited to my "Oh, No She Didn't" party......or my "It's A Shame" party. Hmmmm..... :scratchin

In that case, not only are you allowed to laugh at him behind his back, but you're allowed to point and laugh in his face . . . publicly. :thumbsup2

True story: I saw him and his partner out at a local drag show, and when the show was finished they started to head toward the exit....which is where I was standing. I was going to initiate conversation and be nice, but his partner turned around to him and said, "I don't want to go this way. Let's go the other way", in order to completely avoid me. They literally walked around the entire parameter of the bar in order to avoid me. So even if I did see him in public I'd unfortunately never get the chance so long as he's with his current partner.

I have to agree....if he did indeed put you through h*ll, then you have every right... :thumbsup2

He's not a total bad person. He just made some really bad decisions that hurt me really, really bad. He's one of those people who can put someone through torture and not even realize it.

I just read what I typed. Okay....he is a bad person. :surfweb:

Facebook is a good, good thing. Sounds like the relationship you had was similar to one a friend of mine went through. We recently found his picture on facebook and had a similar laugh. In fact I just sent a text to my friend asking if he thought this guy crossing the bridge in SF caused the rod to snap.

It's okay, we've all been there before.

Knew this kid in high school and we had a short lived relationship (few weeks). I was in good shape and am good looking, but he was like model, drop dead gorgeous, perfect abs, etc and he told me that he wasn't attracted to me because I didn't have a good enough body and then hooked up with this other kid. I tried to be friends with him, but he was really shallow (not just in my situation, in general), so I lost contact with him.

Well a few months ago I saw him out at the club, wow, yeah, he must be pushing 230 - 240 now, abs, yeah, maybe under the beer gut, looks, nope, no longer there, karma can be a you know what.

To me there is nothing more delightful than finding guys that were jerks in high school and college on facebook.

Most of them are now fat, balding, unemployed and divorced. Yep, they are still SOOOOOOO cool!

Hey!

Being fat and bald isn't some punishment for being a jerk!:headache:

I'm a nice guy! I'm just a follically challenged foodie!

I'm fat too! (Not balding, but I'm a girl so that would be like DOUBLY tragic)

I Just think it's awesome that all these people who never developed a personality because they didn't have to are now drowning in the sea of life because they no longer have their looks to use as a flotation device.

I was bigger once upon a time, and a few weeks ago I went to a party with some college friends and there were a lot of other people we knew in college there, and I turned to my friends and I said, "hey, everyone got fat except us."

That made us a feel a little bit better :rotfl:

I feel the follicles slipping away, which is why I try to control my weight. I'm ok with being fat, and I'm oke with being bald, I just refuse to do them at the same time :rotfl2:

Here in Columbus, the bear community tends to not only be cliquish, but they won't even talk to you if you're under 220. (It's one of the reasons I got away from the bear community.....at least around here.) There are some people, like me, who just don't have the "frame" to be beefy.

I was thin, then got really big (and had loads of health related problems) and have now lost bunches (and most of the health problems) and I can give you my word that people treat you differently based upon your size.

It wasn't a pleasant thing to learn. People who believe they are better than another person for ANY reason, not just appearance are truly sad individuals.

Basing your sense of self on something as fleeting as looks, is a definite road to despair.

Hope your miserable ex has learned something MM.

They really do! One of the things I miss about being bigger is people don't get out of my way anymore. I guess I was more imposing when I was bigger :confused3

One of the entertaining factors (at least for me) about my ex is that he never learns life lessons very well.

It could be imposing (and entertaining) if you happened to be a screamer. I've seen slender people who were more intimidating than 300-pound men if someone got in their way before they got a chance to get their morning cup of coffee. :rolleyes1
