Roman shades can a non sewer make them or am I kidding myself?

I need to make some for my den. I have read that they are "easy to make and all you need to do is sew a straight stitch". Yes, I can sew a straight stitch but not sure if it is as easy as they say...has anyone had first hand experience in making them and what are your thoughts :confused3
