I can't seem to find the cheap flights everyone has commented on over the past month. We are looking for March 11 or 12 with a return of March 20 for 3 seats.(doing a discruise) I have checked Southwest (out of Buffalo), Jet Blue (out of Buffalo)and Air Canada (out of Toronto) and the cheapest I can get is approx $1600.
Will costs lower in the future or go up?
DH says wait wait and I'm like book now before they are gone?
And advice??

You likely aren't going to find cheap flights for that time period. I'd really monitor Southwest and would book sooner rather than later. It is of course a toss up as to whether the prices will fall. If you book with Southwest you can get a credit if they do and if you decide to add a day or move flights you can do that as well with no additional fees.

We flew Southwest in September and our flights were much more expensive closer to the date. We booked about 60 days out.

That is spring break and the flights are more expensive. If you can go Monday to Monday you may have better luck finding something less expensive but the Thurday-Sunday rates are higher.

Sorry I see you are doing a cruise and Monday is probably out. Have you checked out of Detroit/Flint or Rochester. We are flying out of Detroit this year for our DCL cruise, it is a bit further but we are only doing a 4 day cruise this year so we have some extra time.

Check Air Tran and Delta.

Keep looking you never know.

Delta has flight for about $200 each...I wouldn't wait either as it is March break:thumbsup2

Don't forget to check WestJet out of Toronto and London, ON. On the WJ web site when you pick the dates, it also finds other cheaper fares for dates around the dates you chose. However as has already been mentioned, you're looking for flights during prime season so don't be surprised if you don't get a great deal.

I just got an email from AirTran today & they only had flights up to Feb 10/2010 & from BUF to MCO was listed at $79 pp one way.

Don't wait. When the flights come out, book them, they get more expensive the longer you wait.

I am on AirTran's mail list & they email about once a week so if they had sales for travel up to Feb 10, within the next few emails I'm sure March will come out. You also have to book their web discounted rate to get those rates.

I'm flying (or needing to fly) end of January to first week of February which is definitely not peak travel time, and I too cannot find a decent priced flight out of Toronto.

Westjet is the most expensive of all options and the least convenient schedule to boot.

When you fly out of a Canadian airport (ie Toronto, Hamilton, London) you are subject to the higher (read Canadian) taxes.

Try a booking engine (ie www.expedia.ca) to see which flights are cheapest (this provides rates in Canadian dollars as well) and then go direct to the individual airline using expedia as your reference point only. Delta, Northwest or American Airlines out of Detroit are providing cheap fares - airtran and southwest are others - we found cheaper rates from Detroit rather than from Buffalo. we are going at the tail end of the Christmas vacation (January 2nd) but the problem was that I didn't book early enough and now we've decided to drive.

Minne, you must have gotten a fantastic rate! I booked a return WestJet flight for my step-daughter for January 9th - it cost me about $250.00 one-way just to send her back home....

That's pretty good Minnie.

Right now with WS, I'm looking at $577 for Jan 30 - Feb 6 and that's leaving Orlando at 7:00am on my return!

Air Canada's a little cheaper and has much more selection of flight times.

I saw a flight with Delta for only $383 when I first booked the Disney package, but put off booking the flight and it was gone within 24 hours. :(

You know, I am really noticing that the fares are pretty good the farther out you look and they seem to just climb steadily thereafter. When I see something that looks pretty good..I don't wait to see if 'it gets better'!!!

I usually use Orbitz (orbitz.ca) to look for prices. In past I've gotten some really good rates there that none of the other sites had, or that I could have even gotten from going directly to the airline's flight.

I just booked on Air Canada for Jan 30 - Feb 6 for $424 all-in.

If anyone is travelling around that time, flights on AC and WS just dropped about $120. Previously, I was looking at $560- $580. With the new sale fares, it came in at $460.

There is a promo code if you book on www.aircanada.com and pay with your American Express card. Enter 4CKJFR91 in the "Promotion Code" box when booking, and you will save 10% off your fare!

Not huge, but saved me another $36, is non-stop both directions, and the ideal departure times I wanted.

For March Break, check out flying from Pittsburgh. Typically the airports closer to Canada will have higher prices for Canadian holidays.

It's frustrating! The flights for March just haven't come down yet. Last year I paid $212 return out of Syracuse. Yes they were crappy times but for $212 who cares? This year- nothing! I check every day too! Hopefully something will come up soon! :confused3

I couldn't agree with you more. We have flown out of Pittsburgh twice now during March break and ended up with great deals. Last March we ended up paying $67.00 each round trip including taxes with nonstop flights to Fort Myers with AirTran. They came out with a sale during the Christmas holidays and a $25.00 coupon as well. It cost our family of 5 a total of $335.00 return including all taxes. Amazing deal! It's almost the same as going to Detroit for us.

Not sure where or when you are looking but the flights I get on a regular basis(NOT during the hot seasons) are $420 both ways/per person to fly Calgary(YYC) to Los Angeles(LAX). We only fly with Air Canada.

I booked in late July for our upcoming Dec WDW trip. SW from Buffalo...$59 each way.
Couldn't believe it, it's actually what cemented us going on the trip.
Free Dining code and 4 direct flight tickets return for $560 US total round trip.:goodvibes

I guess the key is to book early on:thumbsup2

I found best rates through Southwest for our trip. I booked just a few days ago, and we a flying from Seattle to Orlando, Nov 8-18. It cost $250 per person, with taxes incuded.

With that price, you might want to compare flying out of Toronto or London. If those prices are higher then grab the flights out of the US.

Are you on the 'Ding' with Southwest? They ding you to let you know of sales and specials.

Good luck.:santa:

Did you check Sunwing.ca? It has some departures from Toronto of $79 one-way. Play with the dates and see if it will work for you

I was able to book 4 tickets direct from Toronto to Orlando via Air Canada for $1090 CDN everything in through www.united.ca last week These are codeshare flights with Air Canada but for whatever reason, they sometimes go on sale on united.ca and not Air Canada. The only disadvantage is that not all of Air Canada's direct flights are codeshare, e.g. the 6:30am flight. You don't have to pay United's baggage fees if the first flight you board is operated by Air Canada whose policy is 2 bags free.:yay:
