My sister asked me to make placecards for the table for her Thanksgiving dinner -- about 22 people I think. Does anyone have any ideas? I made altered binder clips for a lot of these guests last year, so I'd like to try something different. It doesn't have to be a party favor type of thing. Thanks for your help.

THanks for the file and the warning! It was startling and I knew it was coming.

Here is what I made today; the turkey is from My Community. I am going to check out this turkey though. This turkey doesn't have that many layers, I had to make them - -I cut it in brown 2 times, orange, yellow and red - -that it is a lot of extra cutting and then hand cutting the pieces I want. THe Hide Contour feature in DS doesn't help much with this image. I need to make 22.

How do you go about finding all of these places with svg files? I did a google search and did find one turkey svg - -not this one -- but it doesn't have a base, and I want one. I have also found that cutting multiples with svgs just stinks since you can't take apart the layers.

This is a search for turkey at my favorite file site- they are for sale rather than free- I am guessing that the Card file called Eat More Pork has a turkey that has a background but you can always ask the designer- she would get back to you fairly quickly.

You need to look and see if all of the files are svgs but most of what they make for the site nowadays is available in every file type.

I joined this yahoo group, there is a bit more chatter than I would like, but they share a whooooooole bunch of files weekly. ScalHints (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/scalhints/). Check it out, there are lots of fun things on there!

Oh, and there's this place too. They have great free files and contests. I won a free file a few weeks ago!

Thank you! He is growing on me. I have to do something about the back though since you can see it from the opposite side of the table.

Thanks for the links to others sites - -I just love scal, there are so many options! I made Halloween party favor bags last. I'll post that later.

No, I'm still working on the stinking Halloween bags -- I couldn't stop at 18. I decided to make them for all of my kids classes (16 + 18 +18) and then one class needed bigger bags to put all of their loot in, so another 18 and then I decided to add in the teachers too and make 3 batches of cupcakes in addition to regular life stuff:sad2: WHat was I thinking?

Anyway - -that is the turkey I mentioned earlier - -I love it and she did a great job inking it, but it doesn't have a base.

You are a nut! That's a whole lot of Halloween bags! I'm sure everyone will love them though.

I bet you could come up with something for the base. Or adhere him to a card?

We are on our own for Turkey day... Dad called and wants to take mom out of town for the weekend... FIL and SMIL go to the stepdaughters house... so it's just the 5 of us..
So I think I'm going to really decorate this year... This will give me some where to look for ideas!

Susan, I'm sure you're done already, but an idea for next year.

I'll have to bookmark that...so much easier than what I made! Yes, they are finished and hopefully, they arrived safely to my sister's house.
