I'm working today. Unusual for a Tuesday, but my coworker is on vacation this week. Only for a few hours, but my boss wanted some sort of "coverage" because he's in and out with his wife who just had surgery.
I want to go to ACM and use my coupon. If I get ready early enough, I may try to get over there before I go to work.
DH wants to get Ice Age 3, so we have plans to go to Target after school. PrincessM needs a white turtleneck to wear under her costume for Saturday too.
So, for me:
Work
Target
Homework Duty

Deb - :rotfl: It's like the sniffles/flu thing - they seems to make everything they do more important... what's that phrase? mountain out of a molehill?
Stephanie- Congrats about the Gypsy and congrats to your son! That's awesome! What's the play?
Nancy - I don't think your kids will be mortified! Well... actually, that depends. Substitute teacher or helping out in administrative offices/library? I know a lot of my friends had parents who worked in the latter at the high school, and they loved it. And I think a lot of them started out as volunteers. I don't know anyone who's mother subbed... so I can't offer advice on that one.
Buffy- You have a crafty day ahead of you - good luck! What's a Morticia Chair? Did she have a special chair in the show?
Mom - Wait, if pancakes are the favorite, why are you having them when I'm not home?!?!?!?!!?!
Today:
-Up
-Breakfast
-Go shopping with them, don't spend any money. :scared: - This did not work so well... but at least I didn't buy anything for myself!
-Home
-Get ready for school, only one class today, the other was canceled
-Head in
-Class
-Work
-Home, pack for seminar tomorrow!
-Bed early
Oo, that reminds me, I should probably go confirm my flight. Eep.
Have a wonderful day everyone!

I am forbidden from volunteering in the middle school. :sad2: My eldest is now too old to have mommy around. :confused3 His friends like me, I don't get what the deal is. I say go for it PN96!
 DIT and DIT DS!
Buffy, what is a Christmas barn?
Holly - tell your man to put on his big boy pants and suck it up. :rotfl2:
Pancakes sound good, but so does that shrimp fried rice. Hmm. Maybe Deb will post the recipe?
Still got a Little Bit home. His temp is 99.8. He needs to be fever free for 24 hours. He is coughing much less now and is feeling pretty good. Call of Duty and some Zombie destroying are doing wonders for his constitution. :rotfl2:
Laundry.
Disinfecting house.
Figure out dinner.
Take Eldest for allergy shot and maybe a haircut.

Well, I'm going for it.. I'm going to volunteer at the HS whether they like it or not! ;) I guess if they don't want me to know what is going on, they shouldn't be doing anything to worry about, right?
We don't use volunteers in the MS... so by the time youngest is there, they probably will because they are starting a volunteer service at the MS the first of the year... (so maybe I'll volunteer in Jan. but then he moves to the HS in the fall).
I talked to one of the Principals as the other is on vacation.... She is fuming... I gave her the info I know and her blood is boiling right now... I also found out today another mom got a nasty email for not volunteering at the school one day, the reason she couldn't volunteer, he father has passed away and they sent her a NASTY email about it... not caring that she had lost her father... WOW!!! I told the Principal she can call me anytime but I would NOT volunteer or sponsor anything related/organized w/ PTO. I would much rather right her a direct donation to the school for her to use at her discretion... I am just livid.. It helped to get it off my chest...but I'm half tempted to take this to the Superintendent and the School Board..
PrincessNancy96

OH, and all the volunteering I have been doing has been directly for my kid's classroom thru the teacher...
The MS, will be directly thru a teacher or it won't happen...
The HS, will be directly thru a teacher or it won't happen....
oh, and I will NOT head any committees!!!!
DisneyIsTerrific
10-27-2009, 10:49 AM
Nancy, I don't blame you for not wanting to help out with anything PTO related. They don't sound like the type I'd want to be involved with.
Good for you on volunteering at the HS. When DS was in elementary school, I worked in his classroom as well as other teacher's classrooms. When he went to MS, they didn't really need anyone in the classes, which DS was very happy about, so I worked in the media center a couple of days a week. Now that he's in high school, I don't actually help out at the school, but I'm on the list of people to contact when they need food or things for banquets or teacher appreciation, etc.
ZTH, the play is The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged). There's a lot of improv in it and the 3 boys the teacher chose to perform are perfect and work really well together. It should be hilarious to watch.
AWM, I'm glad that LittleBit is doing better. I'm sure he's not minding staying home and playing video games!

I'm on the list to donate food for everything at the MS and HS.. Have been since my kids entered the halls... but very seldom get phone calls.. :( I'm also on the list to volunteer in general but again, never receive calls.. so when I got the call from the HS I was thrilled!!!
I'd like to work in the govt class rooms w/ the seniors ( what a way to get even with my eldest stepson! LOL)

Buffy- You have a crafty day ahead of you - good luck! What's a Morticia Chair? Did she have a special chair in the show?
she did, she had one of those big wicker fan back chairs from the 70's. Way before your time! :rotfl2:
Buffy, what is a Christmas barn?
It's a local christmas store in a barn. They sell homemade foods, Dept 56 villages, vera bradley bags, country cottage type furniture, etc etc. We have a PTO fundraiser there every year. We get 10% of their sales for 4 hours.
Nan, sorry your PTO is giving you a hard time. You can come join mine!!
PrincessNancy96
10-27-2009, 12:11 PM
Not giving me a hard time, I'll have them disbanned if they screw with me one more time..
It's individuals who think they "RUN" the school, they have inflated heads... doesn't work that way...and it doesn't work with me... messing w/ the little tiny blonde is NOT the option you want to take... the shy, quiet, tiny blonde is the one you should worry about messing with, we hold our own very well!!!

I can't even watch BioShock. It literally makes me nauseas and queasy for a really long time afterwards. Something about the movement and graphics of that game. Eww.
Give me some Master Chief or ODST anytime. :thumbsup2 Nathan Fallon is yummy.

We have the DVD of the show and it's great. DS and the other 2 boys will do an awesome job because they work so well off of each other and all of them are quick on their feet to adlib or improvise if necessary. I'll definitely be taping it for us to have and will send you and anyone else who wants one a copy!!!

OK- a little vent-
GRRRRRRR!!! :headache: Can't I get through 1 day without my !@#$%^ boss picking on me?!? It has become so obvious that others are coming up to me and saying "What did you do now to get him mad"
OK, so today, I was there for a few min, and people were stopping by and chatting, some coming in for the day, others leaving for the day. The workbench that I had to use was right outside his office. So, I was talking, those people left, and I went across the room. I was told by a coworker that he came out and said to her "A little less drama, and a little more work"... so I guess that got him started...
Then a few min later, I was watching a video posted on the employee website...it's there for us to watch...and he jumped on me when I turned on the sound...said "OK Debbie, turn that off. Have some respect when you are sitting right outside my office, I'm trying to concentrate. That's really loud" If he had been nice about it, no prob, but he was nasty with his tone, and everyone heard it. Eyes all got wide. I got really angry, but kept my cool, didn't say anything except sorry. I was not disrespecting him at all. I turned on the sound, it was at that level, not my fault. I kept quite the rest of the day, listened to my ipod, and did my work, and didn't look at him or engage him at all. If he wants to be an a$$ then I figure I'll let him. Well, then I have people asking if I'm OK because I'm usually bubbly and happy. So, I can't resist the little dig... "I'm OK, just trying to be quite" http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e147/ddavis860/smiley/smiley-wnk-yellow.gif
It really stinks that this guy has the power over my eval. He is such a la-hoo-zer
OK vent/pity party over...

But the school board might be interested in the goings on. If you got some really good stuff...
But I think it's great you are going to the HS! Hope you have a blast!

Oh, I have made things known to the right people! There should be fur flying as we speak!
As for your boss, tell him to go fly! I'm sorry but he is a jerk! :(

Bosses suck, no two ways about it. I had a cold one year around Christmastime. We ordered food in and he asked me to eat in a separate room because I had a cold...I swear, I really considered going in and licking his phone after that. I was sooooooooooooooo pissed! And, it made me :sad1:
