Hi Everyone,
I'm a first time poster looking for a bit of advice....DH and I are taking our 2 DDs to DLP on 9th Nov, as our eldest is turning 4 on the 10th. Our youngest will be 6months, and I would really like a bit of advice from others who have taken babies with them e.g. are there any rides that we can take her on so we can all go on together? What is the babyfood like that is available in the Park??
Also, as it is my DD's B'day, are there any recommendations on what would be 'special' to do???
Thanks everyone! I love the site and am looking forward to some pearls of wisdom!

hello and welcome to the board.
i havent taken a child that young before. off hand you could take the baby on its a small world, the carousel (in a carriage), on the steam boat in frontierland, on main street vehicles, the train around the park. im sure there are others. there are other kiddies rides that i am sure the baby would be allowed but they could be a bit too dark and loud.
for your dd if she loves the princesses then i would take her to the princess meal at auberge de cendrillon. its quite expensive but i think its worth it. you get a fixed starter and dessert and a choice of mains. you now get a photo included. i think you also get wine. you meet cinderella as you enter and three more princes and princesses come around to your table. i am taking my two year old in two weeks. she is really excited about this.
or else you could go to cafe mickey for a character meal and order a birthday cake

Hi
Sorry I don't have any experience of taking a young baby to Disneyland but lots of people do it so I imagine there must be sufficient facilities.
We are going on 10th November and my daughter turns 4 on the 8th!! We have booked a table at Cafe Mickey for the evening of 10th November and have pre-ordered a birthday cake for her - I think it was £20 and added to our booking. We have not been to Cafe Mickey before but from what I read there is excellent character interaction and a fuss should be made when the cake is brought out.
Hope you have a fab holiday and your daughter has a great birthday!!

Hi
I went in March when my youngest was 6 months old. And we weren't restricted on lots of rides. We took him on small world, peter pan, buzz lightyear, catastophe canyon, all the movie rides in sudios (animagique etc) the train, In fact loads of rides as long as it wasn't height restricted I took him on it! And if it was restricted we did baby switch so we both got a turn. At 6 months he just sat fascinated by everything.
We're going again in december and he will be 15 months so I can't wait to see his reaction then:)
We took him to Florida when he was 6 weeks and again took him on everything - most of the time he just slept throug the lot!!
The only problem I had was in restaurants as the highchairs were too grown up for his age and he kept slipping down!
Otherwise it was magical

We took DD at 3 months and took her on a few of the rides mentioned above but I think the CMs at the entrance don't always give you the same message.
The first time we tried to walk onto Buzz we were told it was 'not recommended' that we took the baby on. I don't know what would have happened if I'd said that I was quite happy to take her on (we've ridden before, I knew what to expect) but seeing as it was really quiet and we could literally walk right onto the ride we used the baby swap facility and then eldest DD rode twice.
Interestingly, on Peter Pan I had youngest DD in the Baby Bjorn carrier and was told I had to turn her around so she was forward facing. Not a problem but maybe something to do with safety when the bar comes down across your lap? With the slight language barrier we didn't always ask :rotfl2::confused3:rotfl:
But on the whole would say taking a baby to DLP is no problem. Do you know about the baby care centres? There's one in each park where you can go to change nappies, feed, and let siblings use the small toilets. The parks were quiet during our trip and although we only used the baby care centre in the main park a couple of times, it was empty.
This was one place I noticed baby food being sold but sorry I can't tell you which brand. :sad2: There was also baby food on sale in the shop at the bottom of Main Street which sells lots and lots of toys and clothes for babies and toddlers - well worth a visit!
Sorry such a long post! Hope it helps and feel free to ask more questions - our visit was only a couple of weeks ago so still fresh in my mind!

I took my DD2 when she was 5 months and this year when she was 15 months. The former was MUCH easier!!! :lmao::lmao: At 5 months she slept in her pushchair etc as normal but wouldn't at 15 months and ended up in strops all the time as her routine was all over the place!
I hadn't weaned DD2 at 5 months so can't say much about babyfood to buy. This time, we took our own food in our suitcases. I just bought jars, wrapped them in kitchen roll, then in food bags and put them in large plastic tupperware containers in our cases - they were fine and it meant we had stuff we knew she would eat (she did eat off our plates a bit as well but we didn't necessarily eat at proper mealtimes so I wanted to make sure she got fed when she normally would). I used the baby centres a lot and they are great esp if not v busy. They also have an area for baby changing, a microwave for heating food, water etc too. I did notice the nappies were hideously expensive - something like 1 euro per nappy - so make sure you have lots with you.
I think you'll find your baby is fine at this age - v easy to transport about :)
Ps - Agree about the highchairs, if your baby doesn't sit up v well they can be a nightmare - they are wooden hardbacked type and really not v good for younger babies but at 6 months your baby will probably be OK. If not, explain to the staff that you need your pushchair with you in any restaurants - we did this when we went the first time.
