Brightstar is a medical emergency. One was called to the kids club (I think it was semi-formal night).
Good news - I got weighed in today and only gained 1.8 pounds!!:yay::yay:
Bad news - Hubby's Aunt died yeterday.
Wow! Only 1.8 lbs! That's great! I gained 3 this time. Not too bad, since I had gained 6 on the last one and had to work a year to get that off. I guess 3 lbs. may take only 6 months!!!:cool1:
Sorry to hear about your hubby's aunt. My DH's aunt passed away before our cruise. My thoughts and prayers go to you and your family at this sad time.....

Also, what is a Brightstar alert?
A kid had a seizure that night,, My son said he was blue and on the ground, i overheard what I assume was relatives(looked like grandpartents) of the child who were getting the details from a kids club member, It sounded like he should be alright

Hi Everyone!
Our Sarah (DD 8) woke up Saturday morning early, during the rocking, vomitting from the top bunk. We thought it was motion sickness, but now I am wondering...I had to take Dramamine myself and I rocked all the way home. Other than that, great cruise.
Loved all the FE gifts but especially loved meeting many of you...I saw the bride in her wedding dress and we spoke briefly about the dress fitting before the cruise. She told me that it was "now way too tight". I am just sick for her family.
At guest services the father of the medical issue was at the front counter demanding the medical notes from the ship's doctor be faxed to his son's cardiologist. Unfortunately, he was not happy...I am thankful for our trip and our lack of issues!
John and Joanne, are you home yet? How's the snow?
We can now add our cruise to our list of things to be thankful for this Thanksgiving!
Wow!
We had an amazing time.
We loved meeting all you guys.
I forgot to put my name of the FE stuff.
If you got a pen & ink lithograph of Disney characters, that was me.
or candy, or totes for the kids, cards, or, or or, shoot, now I don't even remember half the stuff I put in there!
We'll be sailing 11/13/11 on the Dream's 4 night with the whole bunch this time. My older girls couldn't stand the thought of missing out on all the fun, so they are now planning on going when we do.

I think we brought Castaway Cay home with us judging by my dryer's lint trap.
:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:
You are, of course, collecting all of it to put in a little jar, right? Or send it my way... I had a friend of mine pick up some sand for me from Myrtle Beach, SC (ahhhh, the wonderful summers I spent there) and I forgot to get some from Castaway Cay (ahhhhhh, the wonderful cruises I've spent and will spend there).
Another special thanks to Hypermommy and King Charming for making my mother feel so comfortable on the cruise-you two are great! She was so excited to meet new friends!
I'm so glad she enjoyed it! I agree, making new friends is one of the BEST reasons to go cruising. She was so sweet too!!
Good news - I got weighed in today and only gained 1.8 pounds!!:yay::yay:
Bad news - Hubby's Aunt died yeterday.
Sorry to hear about Hubby's Aunt. Great job on only gaining 1.8 lbs! I don't do scales (they yell at me -- "Oh Lawd!!! Please get off!!!!!!") but I'd shudder to think what I might have gained.
I think the lion fish and baracuda distracted you so the other fish could pick your pockets. :rotfl: I don't blame you for wanting to stay there, though.
:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Okay, I am DEFINITELY going to have to go snorkeling next time! :rotfl2: Sights to catch on "film" will be the Mickey statue thing and y'all's driver's licenses!

Glad to hear he's going to be alright. After the alert I saw a couple of ladies rushing through the art gallery (and you know how crowded it can be at that time). They were polite but there was a definite look of panic on their faces. Glad to hear he's going to be okay and hope the father was able to get all the medical docs faxed. Wonder why guest services would have given him any trouble with that request?
My older girls couldn't stand the thought of missing out on all the fun, so they are now planning on going when we do.
Another 2 bite the dust... and another 2 going and another 2 going... another 2 bite the dust! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Cruising is rather addicting, isn't it?

I warned them it was addicting!:rotfl2:

Hyper and I were so lucky to be part of this wonderful group, thank you all.
I got a kick out of the first TR written about the DD. They didn't even GO! Your goodness is being bragged about, how y'all pixie dusted even the non DIS'ers. Take a bow and give yourselves a deserved pat on the back.
Our move to Orlando is almost complete. I'll take the dogs and a few remaining odds and ends this afternoon. Ya mean I actually have to unpack the boxes now? :confused3
For as chatty as we were, where are the REAL TR's? A final royal decree has been issued: PLEASE write, share your photos, tell lies, anything. We all want to re-live last week, and as often as possible. What was the excursion like that we didn't do but you did? Come on people, I know you have it in you, now let it out.
We'll probably do yearly passes next year, so it will be a while before DCL hears from us again, right dear? Ah, sweetheart? She was here a minute ago. Hey, has anybody seen Hyper? or my wallet?

Hi Susie,
We all got home safe and sound, and no snow on the ground. In fact, the past couple of days have been a balmy +5 celsuis. Our Sarah was fine on the ship, and all day Saturday at Kennedy Space Center, but started vomiting on approach into Edmonton on Sunday afternoon and didn't stop until after midnight. Not sure what it was but she was fine on Monday. I, on the other hand came down with a killer of a head cold and just went back to work today.
Do we have your e-mail address? Our Sarah sure wants to keep in touch with your Sarah... she hasn't stopped talking about it.
Oh well... back to work (sure wish I was back on CC right now.

We had a great cruise. We did not meet up with anyone as did not have time to get more up to date on what was going on and once on board we just went with what ever happened and it was great.
The kids loved it and my daughter already wants to go back.
I have to say Disney has got it down as far as children entertainment and especially the disembarkation process. We had 7:45 breakfast. We had breakfast then walked off the ship :sad1: met a porter downstairs and was on the curb waiting for the rental car place by 8:25. That is a record as far as other cruise lines.
We did look into a cruise for next year with the 10% off and $200 on ship credit but did not like the itineraries for next year in the Caribbean. We have been to Grand Cayman/Cozumel 3 times now. We have also been to St Thomas/St. Marteen many times on other cruises as well. There are no special trips in the Caribbean next year. I will not fly overseas so the "Mediterranean" trips are out. Disney needs more variety in their ports in the future.
If we do a Disney cruise next year it may be the Disney Eastern Caribbean and then maybe drive to Miami area after the cruise as I think the kids need a break from the parks. Or may try another line with the kids just to see new ports. The problem is the other lines I think the kids may like the clubs but I doubt there is much other entertainment for the young ones on another line.

I'm w/ya on this. On top of that, I can't really take the kids out of school anymore b/c oldest will be in middle school. That's why we booked the 8/16/11 5 day double dip. We just won't get off the boat in Nassau (blech).

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!
And Happy Thursday to all of our Canadian cruisers! What a week since we have been home. No flight issues although I do think that we had to be off the ship way too early but it sure is nice not to have to deal with luggage when using the DCL transportation. We got home late Saturday night, got the luggage in and boy, I must say, it was nice to sleep in my own bed (yeah, it is nicer to be on the ship but there has to be something good about coming home).
It was so great meeting everyone and so sorry if I missed you. My SM (LindaBabe) did an awesome job. In fact, I will use the syrup is Drew ever gets up and makes me my waffles. Tara - I was yours if you couldn't figure it out from the Cadillac, MI mug. Sorry that I didn't get to meet you. I did book for 12/11 but will probably move that out to 2012 - we will just have to see how things go.
The bags are all unpacked but I am still working on laundry and putting those summer things away. Work has been a bear this week so I will be going in over my holiday to get some things done. I also thought maybe I was battling the flu or something so I have been trying to rest as well - since our dinner isn't until tomorrow night, I have been putting things off that I should have been working on - bad Gail.
Take care and have a great holiday. I will try and get some pics posted (they are still on the camera) and safe travels to those that are not home yet.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We're in NC at Grandma's house surrounded by lots of family, many of whom we haven't seen in years. It's been a wonderful week of visiting and just hanging out. So much to be thankful for!
We fly home tomorrow morning and I can't wait to sleep in my own bed after being gone for 3 1/2 weeks. I'm hoping to get all my cruise photos uploaded and linked here sometime this weekend, including the "reveal" video when we tell the girls that we're going on the cruise.
Thank you again to all of you who made our cruise extra special. A big shout-out to John, Joanne, Sarah, and Dale. We had so much fun with you and the girls can't stop talking about Sarah and Dale.

Happy Turkey Day!! I found out at 6pm last night that no one was doing Thanksgiving, so we're cooking now. At least it's only the 5 of us & MAYBE my MIL/FIL (they were a bit wishy washy last night). Had to run out at 8pm to get a turkey, etc. UGH!!
Anyone shop tomorrow for Black Friday? I've got all my fliers ready and where I'm going. I'm not hard core though. I go when I get up (~5/5:30). I have a friend who's not even going to sleep tonight. Crazy.

Ben and Kristie plan are downstate and they plan at being at some store at 4:00am tomorrow. No way - although I am thinking about doing a run at 6:00 tomorrow morning. We need a new grill and Home Depot opens then. We shall see.

We're headed for home today - spent yesterday with family in Jacksonville. It was great. Looking forward to my own cosy bed, but NOT the weather in the north east. We should be home sometime on Sunday.
More later when I get sorted out.

I did a commando Black Friday trip! I went to Gymboree at 11:30 p.m.. Then hit TRU, big mistake! Then Target...Justice...Active...wrapped it up with a free cookbook from Costco in the morning. I took a nap at 10:00 a.m. and slept until 1 p.m. I WILL NEVER DO BLACK FRIDAY AGAIN! I am way to old to pull all nighters!

You are NOT old - I have met you and that is not the case. But, I also don't do all that "in the middle of the night" shopping. Drew and I went and got David a gift Friday morning - left around 7:00am and home by 8:00am. Not bad - now if the snoop stays out of it but it is pretty large to hide.
Not much else happening here - snow is almost gone. Drew left yesterday, Nick and Cara will be stopping by for lunch (or that is what I think) and Ben and Kristie travel home today from Ohio. No Christmas decorations here yet - and maybe not until Drew gets back home on the 18th. I did get 3 of my Santas out and they are on the ice chest by the front door but that has been my big move in that direction. Since I am still working on cruise laundry - it isn't real high on my list. To top it off, I am not feeling all that well either so slow and steady is my mantra.

When on board, we re-booked another double dip cruise :cool1::banana: but did not purchase the insurance through Disney as I wanted to price other companies out....when is the last day that I can purchase the travel insurance through DCL vs an independant company???
Any good ones out there? I have only used DCL.
And :) if we re-booked and I used a DU TA and asked for her to be by agent again, do I get an email from the TA to confirm that they got it?
Thanks!

I use http://www.insuremytrip.com. Depending on the policy, you need to purchase it within 14-21 days of booking to get the pre-existing condition waiver. If you're not sure about which policy, call the toll-free number. Their representatives are very knowledgeable and helpful.

Thanks for the info on Trip Insurance! I was really sad to read about the accident in Mexico.
Good to see that people had a good thanksgiving. I finally finished my cruise laundry last night, since we were out of town most of the weekend.
I wanted to say thank you for all the awesome FE gifts Sean and I received. We got so excited about checking our fishy for treats, and we were impressed with the wide variety of creative things that people did. We shared some of our fishy gifts with his neice and nephew on Thanksgiving, along with some gifts we'd picked up at Disney World in October...certainly kept them occupied until dinner was served!
We ended up rebooking an Eastern for 2011. Wanted to book the Dream, but 5 days is not long enough, and we don't sail during school breaks, anyway. So...looking forward to booking the Fantasy when we cruise in 2011. :goodvibes

If you don't hear from DU within the next couple of days, just contact your TA to confirm that they got it - provide them with your Disney contract#. I hadn't heard anything so I just contacted Tracy directly and she took care of it for me. (And I got the double $200 onboard account credit - woohoo!)
No, I haven't posted my pictures/TR/anything up yet either. DH is off to Sweden for another 2 weeks and I'm still sorting out cruise stuff!!

We want to thank everyone for the FE gifts. Allison LOVED finding goodies in them! We also enjoyed meeting everyone that we had a chance to meet. It was truly a wonderful group!
Steve - so glad Lauren & Allison got along so well! We'll look you and Brenda up on facebook
Connie - glad you all made it home safely too. We enjoyed spending time with you Sean and Allison. Lauren cried on the car ride home from the airport because she missed Allison so much. I hope Allison enjoyed her time with Lauren just as much.
I told Lauren that maybe we would go visit the west coast one day or maybe you could come visit Washington. Maybe one day we'll meet again.
All our best to everyone there!

We made it back safe and sound. We had a wonderful time and the boys had fun with all the FE stuff. Thank you all for the great FE gifts. We loved everything. They especially loved the chalkboard and the mini lights. I know we didn't meet up with everybody, but it was great meeting those we did. That's what makes the trip.
A special thank you to my SM Virginia-I loved everything. I did have to share the Reeses with Zachary.
Another special thank you to Linda. Your gift really meant a great deal to me. Thank you for doing that. BTW-our group photo from the last nite from our camera came out blurry. How was yours?
Valarie-Christopher's teacher loved the book. Thanks again for signing.

Most of our photos were blurry. I should have trusted my gut and set my own camera to where I thought it should go each time. I listened to DH, though, b/c he's usually right about such things. Not this time.
I thought you all were chatty! I can't keep up w/my next cruise thread. I guess many of the folks on the Turkey Day sailing signed up for the 8/16/11 5 day Dream double dip. Can I persuade any of you to join??

Leave it to me to be good and late! I was just thinking last night... last weekend is the first weekend that I've had absolutely nothing major or must-do planned for quite a while. No wonder I sat around all day and did absolutely nothing! :rotfl2:
