On the DDP, do you have to use your TS credits for TS meals, or can you get a CS meal and just use one of your TS credits for it. We will have 6 TS credits, but really only want to do 5 TS meals. It's still better to do the DDP than pay out of pocket money wise, but we really don't want to lose that credit either. Thanks.

Q. Can I "trade down" credits, such as exchange 1 TS to get 2 CS?

A. Generally, no. During "free dining" periods when it is extremely difficult to secure dining reservations, you may be able to trade a TS credit to receive a CS meal plus a "bonus" of some sort (typically extra snacks or a merchandise item such as a lanyard or tote bag). At other times, you can check with your resort to see if they'll make an exchange for you, but even if they do so (and there is no guarantee that they will), don't expect better than a 1:1 trade, for example 1 TS credit traded down to 1 CS credit. [Note: this answer is compiled primarily from past experiences, but there is no reason to believe this will change in 2010.]

That aside, you can always use extra TS credits (in pairs) for room service (where available) or pizza delivery.

You CAN use one TS credit to get ONE CS meal. So you don't completely lose the value of the credit, but you don't get it's full value either. One night we weren't hungry and ended up with a single TS credit left over. I basically ended up using it to get a few snacks onour last day. They can be VERY restrictive in what you get as 'snacks' - you can get one pastry, one juice, and one fruit. It's not a very good use of a credit.
