I was accepted for FSF&B for Spring 2010.. has anyone had this role before? Where did you work? I haven't heard anything about this role other than it's non-tipped and you're a hostess. I'd love to read blogs, watch vlogs, look at facebooks... anything about it really.

I did FSFB at the California Grill.

Here's a link from a thread about being a seater (your role when you are in FSFB):

If you have any other questions just ask, myself and a couple others did it too. Unfortunately, I started a blog but didn't really keep up with it, so I can only answer questions instead of providing a blog of info!

I'm also from Philly too :)

Hey FSFB was one of my choices too. I'm still waiting on my acceptance into WDW though. When did you do your interview? What was your acceptance date?

Chris Saribay did FSFB at the Polynesian (Ohana) and has a blog about it here:

I just got accepted into FSFB too! I'm hoping I'll be able to accept... still have to work out some school stuff... but if I do, I'm wondering how you managed to get such a sweet restaurant!

What did your typical shift consist of, I guess?

I have no idea...:rotfl:

There are around 5-7 CPs (most international) there at once, though. So not many. Since there is only one shift to work, there aren't many people that work there and you see the same people every day.

As I explained (in that thread I linked to), you are scheduled to a certain duty and do the jobs associated with that duty. My shifts lasted either 6.5, 7 or 8 hours.

This is a role I'm interested in applying for...it's probably one of my higher choices. Does anyone know if having experience in a restaurant helps? Because, if so, I'm outta luck. :o I've never worked in a restaurant environment.

To everyone-

Yes, Wavy Blue, restaurant experience counts. I worked for 2 years in a diner. Guess what I did last CP and now this CP? Yup, full-service food and beverage!!

I worked at Turf Club Bar and Grill at Saratoga Springs last year. I ADORED IT!!!! It was an amazing job and the CMs were equally awesome. I asked for FSFB in a park this year. I really want Sci-Fi Dine-In at DHS.

You guys can PM me for more info if you want. :)

It helps, but it doesn't count for everything. My only "restaurant experience" was working in a Barnes and Noble Cafe (basically Starbucks). I wasn't asked any specific FSFB questions in my interview, and that's the role I was offered! So I say go for it! :goodvibes

I have never worked in a restaurant in my life if that helps! One of my friends had a lot of experience working in restaurants, but all the others didn't really.

I was recently accepted into full service food and beverage. I'm soooo excited since this was my number one choice. I am a hostess at my current job and I love it. So, my question is.....do you find out which restaurant you will be at when you arrive? Is there any way to request a certain place? Thanks!

Yup, you find out when you get there. :)

Try emailing your request to your recruiter. You never know!:goodvibes

i worked at the HOOP DEE DOO at Ft. Wilderness Resort and Campground in Pioneer Hall, as an assignor for Spring 09! (i know, not many people have heard about it!LOL)

you do need restaurant experience to have a better chance to get in.

the experience was amazing~ there were days that were extremely stressful, but i loved my time there! my leaders were great, and the servers made it AMAZING to have fun when you go to work.

i applied for and got accepted to do FS-F&B for this spring 2010... so I'm excited to go back! (i don't know if I'm going back to the same location, but i love the restaurant business so I'm excited for either a new location or be back with some old friends)

if you have any questions, let me know - my aim is <lilmouse110>

I have no restaurant experience at all (I've had mostly retail jobs), and I got accepted for FSFB. Out of nowhere, my interviewer said I sounded like a restaurant hostess, so I knew that was the role I'd get. I guess I'll find out soon if I like working in a restaurant!

What Soarin said.

I sent a request to recruiting and they said they would note it in my file. Obviously, no promises lol.
