Nothing is out yet past 15th
We went last year from 23rd to 26th and I'm sure Disneyland Park was open to from 10am until 10pm with EMH. The Studios was 10am until 6 or 7pm
We are going this year from 19th to 22nd and expect similar hours but both parks are opening at 9am on the weekends which presumably means only 1 hour of EMH.

Thanks, it sounds good with the long hours... I was affraid that everything would close down early on the 24th.
Last year, was Village open all night?
And was the parks busy on the 24th and 25th?

The 24th quietened down in the late afternoon and most of the rides were walk on by early evening. We left about 7pm as we had three very excited children.
The 25th was very quiet and we even popped back to the Marriott Village in the afternoon. Had lunch in Walts (normal menu) some of the prices for Christmas menus were very scarey.
The 26th was absolutely manic - at the time it was the busiest I have ever seen it but after being there on Easter Monday that was even busier.

Sorry to butt in to the post, but I'm glad that it is wasn't that manic on the
24th - 25th as I was really getting worried that we would get on nothing after reading some of the posts.
It has made me a bit more at ease, but think We might have a late start in the parks and then stop till closing as my 2 youngest are only 2 and 3yrs old.
I am getting to the stage now where I can't wait, but am checking the official site each week for the hours that they are open from the 23rd - 25th Dec.

As you're staying onsite and the age of your children, you might be better if you used the extra magic hours before the park opens to do the rides in Fantasyland, plus Buzz and possibly Orbitron in Discoveryland.

I'm with Simon on this. The earlier you can get there, the better ~ you can always go back to your hotel for a nap in the afternoon before returning to the parks.

I am on the same wavelength as you I was hoping to do EMH every morning but husband said there is no way we are getting up and doing the parks from early, he wants to do it the other way round.
So I have no choice really:headache:

It's a funny thing, but we thought the Disneyland Park was packed on Christmas Day last year :confused3 Christmas Eve was quiet, the couple of days before it were very busy, and the couple of days after Christmas were crazy!

Usually find christmas day and the 26th the busiest though it depends when it falls, with 25,26 and 27 being weekend this will be a busy year.. christmas eves usually manageable..
EMH is a must on all days to get fantasyland and buzz out of the way (I do wish they would extend this out more or contine the EMH studio roll out into the peak christmas days so crush is not a "be at the gate before opening and run for it event")... If its not too controversial I would suggest digging out your old annual passes to take advantage of the FP loophole when the park is this busy.
Expect Peter Pan FPs to have gone before lunch... The evening of 24th is generally nice and quiter..

Hi,
Just noticed on the DLP site it now says EMH daily from 18th Dec (which is our last day)- does anyone know if this mean it will def be open at 8am on 18th? Just I noticed the previous post said 19th. I don't want to drag the kids over to the park at 8am then have to wait 2 hours for it opening! Also it keeps quoting 'up to 2hrs' so how can I check it will be open at 8 and not 9 or something? Sorry - been to dlp a few times but realising I've not been as organised as I could have been so am trying hard to plan better this time (meanwhile keeping it a secret from DD!)
pasted from dlp site:
Specific areas of Disneyland® Park will be available up to 2 hours before regular park opening, so you can enjoy easier access to selected attractions - even some of the most popular ones.
•Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays from November 1st to December 16th, 2009 and on December 8th, 2009
•DAILY from December 18th, 2009 to January 6th, 2010
•Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays from January 9th to February 8th, 2010
•DAILY from February 9th to April 26th and on April 28th, 2010
You can enjoy up to 2 extra hours in part of Disneyland® Park every morning before regular park opening.

You should be told when you check in about EMH and there are usually leaflets on the reception with days/hours

It should be open at 8am on the 18th
I think they use the word "upto" so they can change the opening hours for the general public eg when we arrive on 19th the EMH will start at 8am but the park will open at 9.30am to everyone else
On some of the weekends they are opening the main park at 9am so EMH will only be for an hour - they are also opening WDS at 9am and EMH for an hour in there

Thanks for that nightrider.
All I need now is for them to update the parade times so I can book Walts!
C'mon DLP - update the site!
