I am hoping to pick up something tropical to wear during the day in St. Maarten. Does anyone have any specific recommendations regarding shops?

I tend to need a place with a wide selection as I am very short (just under 5 feet) and often have trouble finding that "just right" outfit, unless I am in the petite section of a department store or a speciality store for petites.

Thanks for your feedback.

I was on the Magic last May and found a tropical dress in a little shop across from the Chocolate shop. It's in a courtyard not far from the ship (not on the main strip of shops). It was only $10 I believe. It's a tank style that ties in the back and hits me around/at the knee (I'm 5'2). I also purchased a few sarongs, really cheap too. By the way, I found that same dress in St. Thomas for $30!

My wife is also 5 ft tall, and she found a great dress (Halter-top and mini-skirt) on the market for about $10 or 15 and I got a very loud aloha-shirt for 10 bucks. She also bought some great tropical-style high-heeled sandals for bout $40 in one of the small shops surrounding the harbour.
I also found the shops in St.Thomas more than twice as expensive as the shops in St. Marteen.

We bought our tropical wear in the outdoor market in Marigot...
