Front row on Dueling Dragons is the only time I've yelped on a roller coaster. IMHO that's the best of the coasters in Orlando. Although Kwazi at Busch Grdns was pretty good ( mostly because the car feels like it's going to come off the track at any moment LOL)

Alien Encounter wins hands down! I had my wife on one side of me and a woman I didn't even know on the other side. I had both their fingernails imbedded in my arms. Wear long sleeves.
Having once been stuck in the Africa section of Small World for 45 minutes with the music going non-stop, I'd make that a qualified runner-up. Couldn't get that music (drums) out of our heads for hours.

Well, I'm the only member of our family sane enough to give Dr Doom's Fearfall a miss. My brother was totally traumatised - said he thought he was going to die and talked of nothing else for the next 36 hours!

I agree Debbie.
Theres nothing or noone in the world who'd get me on Dr. Doom's fearfall

hi again,
i thought that dr dooms fearfall looked the worst ride (meaning most scary) from all the guide books but i am really looking forward to the big speed rides at the water parks.
what water rides do you guys like?:p

Is this just in Orlando? I reckon one or two of the Busch Garden rides are scary (certainly I couldn't get on some of them!)
If we're sticking to Orlando and the main parks...........
...... for me it is Rock'n'Roller Coaster!
(My 12 year old son found Dr Dooms "a waste of time"!!)

Another vote for alien encounter, not for anybody of a nervous dispostion!!
Dr dooms fearfall, just watching my 9 year old disabled son with his dad on this made me a nervous wreck for the rest of the day!

:p :p :p - for DH Darryl it HAS to be Journey to Atlantis in SeaWorld. He threatened to divorce me three times - and that was just the first couple of minutes on it ;)
Have to admit it is quite a steep drop when those doors open and you go flying down into the water . . . . and then, well I won't spoil it for those wot haven't been on it yet:D
Because I've been the only one mad enough in our family to go on anything vaguely resembling a coaster, haven't yet been on anything that I consider scary, *** I've thought it not fair for Darryl and Katie to Q with me for 1.5 - 2 hrs each ride, so have not gone on the biggies.
However . . . Katie's got the bug this year, so hopefully we'll be doing some "better" ones.

How about the Tower of Terror, it scared the wife & kids silly.
Personally I thought the Kraken at Sea World was pretty good at getting the adrenaline going (wife & kids gave it a miss!)

Alien Encounter I found absolutely terrifying. There was also one bit on Spiderman that I found very scary. For coasters Kraken at Seaworld and The Hulk at IOA are both brilliant.

Cool Chris
The most scary thing about summit plummit is where are your swimming shorts/ costume going to end up. Those of you who have done it will know what I mean!

If were talking Orlando only, I'm going with the first time I rode Alien Encounter, absolutely scared the life out of me.
But, if were going worldwide then Tonnerre de Zeus at Parc Asterix (about 60 miles north of DLP) is absolutely manic. It's an old style 'woodie' but it goes like the clappers! Well worth visiting the park just for that.
Cheers

If its Orlando ,then i think Tower of Terror, Busch Gardens has some terrific coasters, but the scariest ride we've been on is in Las Vegas its the Big Shot, similar to Dr Dooms fear fall, but this ones at the top of the Stratosphere Tower.(its terrifying)......
alexandra uk

D'you reckon tower of terror is more scary than Dr. Dooms fear fall ?
Have U been on oblivion at Alton towers ? Is T.O.T worse than that ?
( saying that - I bet alton towers rides are baby rides compared to Disney's ):p

Most scary experience in Orlando - Alien Encounter, without a shadow of doubt!
Most exciting ride = Hulk IOA
Most Exhilerating ride in Busch = Kumba, twice on the trot :D :D :D
Knocks yer socks off!!!!

Interesting thread!! :)
Just goes to show how different people are! I thoroughly enjoyed Tower of Terror and was a bit nervous of Alien Encounter but thought it was great.
Scariest ride for me has to be The Hulk at IOA - if I ever get around to finishing my trip reports I'll give you the full story on that one!! ;)
As for Dr Doom - no way in a million years!!

I'm obviously alone in thinking that Alien Encounter was over hyped & a bit of an anti-climax.
I suppose it's horses for courses as they say.

Mine did too and I have to say, I agreed with him. TOT is much better. Rock 'n Roller, Hulk etc, all great, all different. I think the one that scared me most was Der Stuker at Wet 'n' Wild. Dropping through a trap door onto a near virtical slide....terrifying! According to Brits Guide, only 15% of park visitors go on it.

Snow White's Scary Adventures.
Don't let its innocent exterior fool you, it really is scary. Skeletons come to life, and crocodiles swim out of the darkness at you, and the witch tries to drop a rock on your head.
Terrifying stuff.......

Alexandra - I love TOT but it is really quite tame in comparison with Oblivion. WDW doesn't really go for white knuckle.
My absolute favourite for the thrill factor has to be Kraken.:D

've done all the themeparks in Orlandos coasters love 'em all. Dr Dooms , Hulk, Duelling Dragons, kracken, Gwazi and the other ones at busch no problem. Done Oblivion at Alton Towers.
However the scariest thing for me is.............THE FLIGHT THERE I HATE FLYING. Take offs and landings cool but the 8 odd hours in between URRGHHH.
ALL YOU PEOPLE PLEASE SIT STILL, DON'T WANDER AROUND YOU'LL TIP THE PLANE. Just think of all the luggage, peoples combined weight, food, peoples weight after they've eaten the food, all the extra luggage on the way back, those cuddley toys and trainers all add to .....HEAVEY.
So thats my scariest ride but a wedgie of swimsuit is the most scariest for other people to see.

I totally agree muppet.
Flying terrifies me too. But its a necessary evil :)
It would be nice to be able to afford to cruise over and cruise back again:smooth:
Maybe one day when I hit the lottery jackpot :D :D :D

Picture this....A group of us standing at the top of Der Stuka slightly apprehensive about going into this not very large chamber but worse than that the floor comes from underneath you at the push of a button and then a near vertical drop of, I would guess 60ft awaits you.
A person from our group enters the chamber, does the fold the arms and cross your legs thing and awaits the dreaded moment!
Now, we happen to have chosen a rather playful park assistant, decides not to push the button immeadiatly but instead to leave him standing there in the chamber. the assistant then shouts WOW look at that and points over his shoulder, everybody turns and looks inc the victim in the chamber...and you've guessed it, the attendant pushes the button.....all we here is AARRRGGGHH *%&! and he's long gone.
