That's it. My family is going to the Fort for the first time this November :woohoo:. We're arriving on the 15th and I'm getting very excited and into all my planning.

What I want to know is whether Disney resort guests are allowed to to use the pool areas at other Disney resorts?

Allowed? No. Some people do pool hop, but Disney does not allow it, and some resorts check Resort IDs at the pools.

But, at least the Fort has a great pool of its own now! :cool1:

Unfortunately no. And apparently it's become a really sore spot with Disney. When we received our check in docs last December there was a big red "NO POOL HOPPING" stamp across the top.

The stamp has been there a few years. At one time many years ago Disney wanted you to pool hop. Go figure :confused3

Go right ahead, it's America...... A socialist country, why should you not be able to?

The new slide at the pool coupled with the new splash zone makes the Fort's pool better than those at most of the other resorts. Do you know that the Polynesian resort, a deluxe resort, doesn't even have one hot tub. And the Fort now has two! Why would anyone want to pool hop?

Well that's too bad. But I didn't know that the fort pool had a slide and hot tubs now. From the pictures on the site they looked like pretty standard (kinda boring) little pools.

Now all we need to hope for is that its warm enough to use them.

Thanks everyone.

Hello?

You didn't know about the improvements to the pools?

You must read and look at the photos on this little thread:

Something is Happening Near the Pool!!! (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2059347)
(click on this link)

This is a bit of a big deal to some of us around here.

One man's boring is another man's relaxing.

But no, the pools are much improved over the photos posted on WDWInfo's Fort photos. There is now a themed, curly water slide, children's sprayground, and a hot tub. It's more in line with moderate resorts now. Here are some photos 'borrowed' from the thread TCD linked to:

This might be a stupid question but, is it warm enough there to use the pool in January?

You didn't mention it, so I don't think that you are, but DVC members ARE allowed to pool hop to all pools BUT at the contemporary, AKL and Beach Club.

Yes! The pools are heated, and people swim in them all year long.

We swam one night when the temperatures were supposed to hit freezing. It was great in the pool, but getting out wasn't all that great.

Wow, those pictures look really great. Definitely a big difference from the clearly out of date pictures I saw before.

YAY!

thanks.

yes, you are correct! I should have stated that. i use my points quite a bit at the fort but since it's not a dvc resort, pool hopping is not allowed for me. I like the new fort pool and even when i stay at a dvc, we rarely hop.
