Forgive me if this has been covered to death...

If I have a design that has a lot of white space (background), but I don't want it to be white on the shirt, do I use light or dark transfer paper? I want to use a non-white shirt, and have ordered Amy's transfers. Am I doomed to have the white background on a non-white shirt? TIA

If you want the color of the t-shirt to show were the white is on the design then you need a light transfer paper. Amy's is a dark transfer paper and anywhere that the white is on the design will stay white. Some people will trim out the white from the design on dark transfer paper so that the shirt will show through. This can be a lot of work if there is a lot of white places like with lettering.
