I love Marmite, but I'm not keen on Vegemite - I tried it once at an Australian friends house and was not impressed.

LOVE Marmite, but I'm not convinced about Vegemite - it's a bit tasteless in comparison. I prefer Marmite as it has more bite!

Vegemite packs a good punch............it sure has a good bite...........tho I can't remember what Marmite tastes like.........I do know that vegemite is quite bitter if you use too much of it...........:p :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Marmite is much more intense than Vegemite I think....although quite similar in flavour.

I prefer our Marmite!

My neighbor brought back a jar of Vegemite from Australia and we had it at one of our neighborhood picnics.

I loved it.

Nutsy, did we do this wrong? We were told to put a little butter on a cracker and then the vegemite. I liked it with or without the butter :)

Definitely prefer Marmite, thought Vegimite tasted a bit like gravy, not much of a kick. Think that jar might be in my cupboard a long, long time.....

Yep, a little butter first then a thin scraping of vegemite is the way to do it. But then my 13 yr old plasters vegemite on to bun loaf & bread without butter. Butter helps with the spreading of it tho..

When I was a kid I used to love vegemite cracker biscuits. I would first of all spread butter, then the vegemite then put a top biscuit on (with holes) then squeeze them together till I got WORMS!!!!

Sorry to hear about your complaint. Over here we've got little tablets that will clear it up in no time at all.

Malcom the worms are what I created with the two biscuits squished togther with the vegemite & butter in the middle. I made nice brown worms. :p


It was loads of fun too!!! Yet my kids thiink it's yuck!!!:rolleyes: Making the worms that is LOL!!!;)

Does Marmite have all the vitamins in it that vegemite does mate???
