We are heading to The Fort and will arrive on this Saturday (Oct 24). We have been planning for over a year and couldn't be more excited. We took a trip there two years ago and had so much fun we bought our own RV a few months upon return home. As a way to build excitement we set out to collect all the FW related pins out there. The plan was to mount them in a framed display (my wife is very crafty) and hang them in our new-to-us RV.
Well here we are:

We have all the pins ever released except for:
Pin 6941: WDW - Cast Recognition Tri-Circle-D Ranch Pin
AND
Pin 67760: WDW - Cast Member - Making Dreams Come True Summer 2007 (Fort Wilderness) Dangle
What great fun! We even have duplicates up so we're ready for some future releases or the two we're missing.
See y'all at the Fort!!!

Wow, that is so cool! I would love to see some close ups if you have them! I am not really a pin collector, but would love to have a collection like yours, great job!

What a cool way to build excitement for your trip and to remain into the Fort when you can't be there! I just hang around this board when I can't be at the Fort...but I have lots of company! :yay:

Welcome to the Disboards!
I don't own a single Fort Wilderness pin, and had no idea that there were so many. What a great idea to try to collect them all.
So, how did you do it? Is there someplace that you can just buy these?
If you get a chance, I would love to see close-up photos of some of these.
I think they look great in your RV!

That is really cool! We're huge pin collectors (well DD is) and I had no idea there were so many Fort pins.
Where did you find the list of them?

Musikfans,
What a great collection of pins. We are avid pin collectors and really enjoy seeing others enjoy it also.

I'm jealous of the musket mickey neck thing. I would love to have it.
Have you included the haunted hay ride pins, or the Hoop-de-doo pins?? Our collection is quite small of the fort, but still beats any other resort set. I think Old EPCOT and Dreamfinder are the winners in our collection.

Thanks.
I'll add some close-ups by tomorrow. I included any pins related directly to the campground or its events (Hoop Dee Doo, BBQ, Hayride, Electric Water Pageant, holiday FW, Segway, Circle-D Ranch, etc.). I used www.pinpics.com to research and make a few trades. Most I found on Ebay or purchased directly over the last few years. My biggest effort started in January. The cast bolo came in a lot purchase on Ebay with a few others. That was a get!!:thumbsup2
I'm now sorry I'm almost done. I became so good at finding them I have doubles of nearly all.:cool:

Great collection!!! I have been wanting to make a display of the FW pins I have collected, and you have given me new inspiration to get them out of the boxes and up where they can be enjoyed. I am interested to see some closeups too. I think there are a couple on there I don't recognize. Thanks for sharing!!!:thumbsup2

I do have some questions about your pins.
In this photo, the pin that is cut off at the very top is a Halloween Hayride pin that is dated 2007:
http://photopost.wdwinfo.com/data/1010/medium/PinsLowerRight.jpg
Is this the only Halloween Hayride pin that was made?
I have not seen any others.
Also, below that pin, there is a pin with a dragon on it. Is that from the Electric Water Pageant? I am assuming that it is, along with the Octopus pin to the left. How many EWP pins are there?
Again, I say great job.
And thanks for sharing.
Up to now, I could not be bothered by the pins, but it would be neat to have a Fort Wilderness related pin collection.

I have collected a few that I'll post later today. I have 2 different Haunted Hayride Pins from 06 and 07. 06 was Stitch as the HH and 07 was Mickey on eyeore. The one with Chip n Dale that says 35 years around the campfire was a CM Pin that I got off Ebay. My favorite is the one with Mickey driving the camper pin.

I am going to retract my statement about not having any Fort Wilderness pins, because now that I have seen the Hayride one, I am pretty sure that I bought three of those. That's why I was asking about the dates. It seems like it was a lot longer ago than 2007 when I bought them.
On my last visit to WDW (last weekend, actually), I noticed a sign on a pin cart that said "10 Years of Pin Trading." That reminded me that Disney started the pin trading craze back in 1999. I bought each of my daughters a lanyard, and we started collecting pins. But, with three daughters, I was dropping $30+ a pop every time someone wanted a new pin (if one DD got a new pin, the other two had to get pins, too). And, the dang things often fell of the lanyards, and we lost several pins that way. So, one day, I put the lanyards away. The girls didn't ask for them, and we stopped the whole pin trading craze in the TCD gang. I have to look for those lanyards now. I'll bet there are some FW pins on them.

There were three Electric Water Parade Pins (Octopus, Dragon, Whale). They're all close to each other in the picture. The Dragon is a light up pin that has flashing eyes. There were also two hayride pins as mentioned. They're also side by side. The coolest of the hayride pins is the stitch as the headless horseman one.
A couple of the hardest pins to find were the above mentioned Chip n Dale at the campfire w/tent (it does say 35 yrs on the bottom) and the 30th anniversary Hoop Dee Do Revue pin. They're both cast recognition pins. The Hoop Dee Do 30th pin was given to all current and former performers that attended the 30th anniversary party.
One of our favorites is also the classic Mickey in his RV.

I have a cast pin from 2008. It was given to me, I don't think it looks like any of yours, but i'll have to check when i get home.
It's a really cool collection... let me know if you ever need it to "go to a good home" :)

Finally uploaded some pics of the pins we've collected. From what I understand the 2 I have with the FW Logo that has a 35 on it was a CM issue as is the 35 years around the campfire one.

Geez, Donnie, I would expect the Mayor of the Fort to have more than seven pins. It is interesting to me that the 35th anniversary pin has Musket Mickey on it. The 35th anniversary was in 2006, and I recall Musket Mickey had already pretty much disappeared by then.
How did you get castmember pins?

The Mayor is always given the good stuff lol. Actually I got all but 2 I believe off Ebay. One of the duplicates I have was an interesting purchase. I bid on the thing and was out of town for a few days and I get back and the seller was trying to do a non paying bidder against me 3 days after the auction was over. I left her good feedback and she left me one that said took forever to get paid. It was the 5th day after the auction lol. Oh and she sent me an email saying she needed the money for her light bill. I think it was like $25 with shipping. The duplicate I saw as a BIN and I got it for around $14 with shipping.

These are some of my family's favorites. The campfire pin is a cast pin that was a little hard to find. We bought the Musket Mickey at the Fort directly. It was sold there when we were visiting in Oct 2007. Awesome that it has the classic, best ever, rendering of Mr M. How about the gang in their RV, too!:cool1:
I type now as we're crossing the great state of Indiana in our MH heading to God's country. My DW is taking a shift to gain more comfort.:eek:We'll be onsite in 24hrs!

Whoa!
I read that sentence really fast, and thought, whoa, wait a minute, he didn't just say what I thought he did, did he? But, I re-read it, and you didn't say what I thought you said, so no worries. :rotfl2:
The weather in Florida is perfect today. Mid 80's. Blue skies. Low humidity.
Feels like camping weather!
Have a great trip!

I posted a thread about this pin a little while ago and didn't get any response. Has anyone seen one of these before??

Yes.
If you look at the start of my thread this pin is one of the two I need. It was given a few years back to CM that worked at the Tri-Circle D Ranch as a thank you. Pinpics lists that it was a limited edition of 500 pins.
I already made an offer to no avail. It's just too much for me. We have all our $$ tied up in our trip we're on now. As I type I'm sitting within the cozy arms of the Fort!:woohoo:
