View Full Version : Using a TS credit for a to-go meal?

Have a question. We've done the dining plan since it started but never have had this situation. Our DD (9) wants us to have dinner by ourselves and for her to go to Simba's Cubhouse or one of the many places kids can go one evening. If we do that, we will have her 1 TS credit left. Do you think the restaurant will let us order her meal to go so we don't lose the credit?

Thanks - Diane

Firstly, I am glad to hear I am not the only one with a daughter (mine is 7) who wants to go to one of the kids' activity clubs and leave me to do something myself! I found it really strange, but obviously the clubs are really great for the kids!

Trading a TS for CS meal has been done but it is not part of the written policy and is purely at the discretion of the CM at the CS location. It seems like more success has been reported in getting this done at the resort food courts rather than at the parks, but again, this really is hit and miss. I would try and do the "trade" earlier in your stay so that if you don't have success in your request the first time you can try again elsewhere.

Otherwise, if you can manage another TS in your stay you could just order your DD's meal on the DDP and pay OOP for your own. I hope it works for you. It seems like being at the right place at the right time or a bit or persistence, are the keys to success.

Generally, Disney table service restaurants will NOT prepare/pack meals to go.

Disney TS restaurants don't do carryout, so you likely will not be able to use it for a TS meal. You could probably trade it for CS.

I even asked at Nine Dragons about getting a chai iced tea to go and was told they were not set up for any carry out. Maybe next time I will whip out my refillable mug and ask if they can fill it up and I will pay for the tea. ;)
