Angels: I will pm you with a reminder if you forget to check in. After 48 hours with no response I will request angels for your spots. If you are going on vacation or will be out of town, please check in early. Please do not sign up for more than you can handle. If you need an angel, please ask for one as soon as possible. I will not be asking for angels after Jan 8th. I will swap out between groups as best I can.

Packaging Instructions
PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ THIS THROUGH CAREFULLY. If you are unable to package and label as follows, I respectfully ask that you do not sign up for this swap. Items that are not packaged and labeled properly are an added burden to the hostess; it really slows down the sorting process and increases the chances of you not getting back the pieces you are entitled to.

Place each set of items in a Ziploc bag that is able to close. Label the bag with your DISname, name and group info:

Do not address the bags to the swappers in your group. Sounds strange, but it is easier to sort if the bags aren’t addressed.
Place the individual bags inside a gallon size or larger bag that is able to close. NO SMALLER. Although your items may fit in a quart size bag, the pieces you get back may not fit in a small bag. Label the outer bag also. The little paper slips that some of you use are fine. I appreciate your attention to the details here.

Please include a return address label -- either a USPS priority mail label that you have addressed, or the little ones you would put on envelope. (This cuts down on errors.)

Mailing:
You may send to me, by any method you choose unless you are mailing after January 22 [note this is the mail by date]. Then, you must mail Priority WITH Delivery Confirmation. I prefer to send to you using flat rate boxes/envelopes. Please include enough postage in your package for return shipping. The rates are: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2372067. I won’t require Delivery Confirmation, UNLESS you are sending to me AFTER January 22. If you want your items shipped to you with DC, please include the $.70, and a filled out slip. I will not mail the items back with delivery confirmation unless you include the $.70. And I am not responsible for postal errors.

DO NOT include clik-it/ship-it postage. I will not be able to use it since it is only good on the day it was printed, and from the location it was printed.

Mini Page Kits:
3 elements from the list below, embellished at least once. One of the elements must incorporate a title. You could make a traditional topper, welded and shadowed title, an altered CD with the title on it, a tag or squares with the title etc and then 2 elements. Group sizes vary but the maximum is 6. You do not need to state your elements at sign ups.

Single Element Groups: state your element when you sign up (list below) -- no repeats with the exception of paper piecings (we will have to make sure we are not doing the same one) Group size = 6

Title = standard 8x2 topper (other sizes are okay), welded and shadowed letters, letters on squares, circles,mini tags or other shapes, a large title tag, title on a box, borders, photo mat, altered CD.
1 paper piecing (not a single layer diecut)
2 photomats for a 4x6 photo, 2 layers, smallest layer 4 ¼ x 6 ¼, embellished
2 journal boxes, total of 3 layers, minimum writing space 3x3, embellished
2 tags (or 1 large tag—greater than 2x3), 2 layers, something in the hole and embellished
1 file folder or matchbook (2 if mini) - -embellished
2 slide mounts -- embellished
Altered CD
3 altered paper clips
1 shaker box
1 library pocket and tag. Tag must be 2 layers with something in the hole, pocket must be embellished
1 license plate
3 shapes(squares, circles, stars, flowers etc) 2 layers, embellished
1 ATC
4 inchies
Signage/Bookmark: 1PP 2x6, double matted and embellished
Song/Lyric/Poem: 1PP, 3 layers in total and embellished. Min size 3x4, shapes are welcome
Altered letter: matted at least 4 inches

You can mix and match -- 1 tag and box, 1 photomat and box, 1 tag and 2 squares or shapes, etc.
******Please let me know if you have an idea not listed! We are open to new things.

Suggestions for embellishments include:
Die cuts, stickers, stickles, flock, ink, chalk, brads, charms, flowers, eyelets, ribbon/fiber, sewing, tearing, embossing, stamping, clipart, additional layers of paper beyond double mats (if it would look weird trying to fit in another embellishment, specialty paper (such as embossed, glitter, Bling).

If you can think of no way to embellish your item, without it looking weird, you can provide an embellishment not attached to your item, such as a Cricut icon cutout, or a set of 4 brads/eyelets, a yard of ribbon/fiber, etc.

There have been some openings in previously full groups -- let me know if you want a topic change.

I will close this on Saturday night. Please look for your group size on Sunday night. I think you should hold off on buying anything until we have final numbers. My plan is to keep open any group that has 3 swappers. If you are a group of two, feel free to discuss it, and let me know if you want to keep the group.

One last thing to consider -- since these events are pretty specific, it is not likely that I will be able to find angels easily.

That's fine with me. I have photos from: Contemporary Resort chocolate pinnochio creations, Polynesian gingerbread houses, Wilderness Lodge tree/inside wreaths etc., Grand Floridian huge gingerbread house (my project for this group), POP Century resort decorations. I think that's it. But really you could make anything because I'll just save it to use for another trip if I can't use it now.

I hope you have a blast on your trip! I'm so jealous! Have you ever gone when the christmas decorations are up before? You'll love it! It's even more magical than usual. :cloud9:

Have a wonderful time- we leave next Sunday for a short trip (returning home Tuesday) to celebrate my birthday. I want to see the Wilderness Lodge decorated for Christmas as it is the one deluxe I haven't seen decorated in our years visiting during the Christmas season.

Yes- I am doing a pocket and tag and I am planning to put the celebration logo on the pocket and then do the tag in co-ordinating colors with balloons on it - since that it how Disney showed their celebate.

I have a question---Can I do a border for one of my mini page kit elements? If so, what are the rules? Do I do 1 12x12 border or a set? does it need to be matted a certain number of times or anything? I read the elements list and couldn't find anything about a border. Thanks!

Yes, border should be on the list. Sized for a 12x12 page, but does not have to be exactly 12 inches. Are you making the traditional type of border or something on CDS or SCAL or the equivalent? 2 layers and embellished. Send me a pm if your plans don't seems to fit this.

Thank goodness it was not me. I know I am still a novice at SCAL, but not as bad as I thought with what I ended up with.

If you get a chance can you go to Mardenz website and click on the Queen of Hearts for me. I have imported her cut files, but can not find anything for the Queen's yellow strips. I may have to just to it by hand.

I am new to SCAL and have been using the files from the same website. Recently (like last weekend) SCAL released a free upgrade and you can break apart the images in SCAL now. I downloaded the Stitch and pushed break apart and each piece separated.

When I made Mike, I just put the different color paper where I wanted it on the mat. It looked like a quilt, but they were already grouped with the proper colors. The blacks together, the whites, the greens and the lonely little blue.

Yes, that is what I have been doing. I think if I was only making one, this would be fine -- plus it kind of forces you to go to your scraps first. When you are cutting for a swap (which is almost always the case for me!), I rarely have a scrap big enough and I find the whole process of cutting the paper and placing it on the mat to be a time consuming pain in the rear.

What I have been doing is creating a different layer for each color of a paper piecing- I do it with enough copies of the pieces for the whole group- so if I was doing a basic Mickey Head I would have a file called black in the mickey folder that only has the parts to cut in black and then I will have another file for flesh, and one for white, and so on. I just use my copy and paste function- I know I use a different machine but I am guessing there has to be some kind of a copy and paste function you could use. If nothing else save the whole file enough times to have 1 for each color and then only keep the color you want to cut in each saved file.

THe Evil Queen is an svg file from Mardenz. I welded the title in CDS, embossed it with the spider web cuttlebug folder and then sanded it -- coredinations paper.

Your not going to believe this, but I made photo mats for my spot in this group and I embossed them with the same spider web AND used coordinations paper and sanded it down as well. Only difference is I used black paper on one side and purple on the others side.

It looks like Vamp Mickey is just regular Mickey cut from M&F + the Vampire cape from Paper Dolls. Minnie is a regular Minnie + hat from the Pooh cart maybe + broom from Cinderella maybe?

Anyway, it looks like it's all standard Cricut cuts, so as long as you can handle that, you should be able to make them!

PS. I was all upset that I wasn't getting them, until I realized how easy it would be to make my own. I never think about combining carts and changing paper colors to make something new. Great job Shawn!

That particular vampire Mickey (different than the one I did for the surprise swap) was easy. I designed him and Minnie witch on CDS and used the Mickey and Friends cart and the dress up paper doll cart. I did have to draw in Mickey's vampire teeth. He was easy peasy (?) and I have no doubt you could do it.

Little FYI if you do decide to break in... watch out for the dog pee...lol

Susan I mailed mine off today with dc. However when I walked into the po they have now increased flat rate shipping so the $ I included will not be enough for a dc delivery, which is fine. Don't worry about the .35 cent you can use it towards other boxes. Just ship it flat rate.

Thank you for bagging your stuff - -it would have been ruined otherwise. It is raining really hard today and very windy. I have been stalking the mailman all morning. The boxes could not have been on my porch for more than 5 minutes, but they were soaked through. I took everything out and all is well thanks to ziplocs!
