DVC at AKL?

I haven't been paying that much attention to the building of the AKL but pictures just posted on The Laughing Place are the best I've seen yet. I sure hope DVD is thinking about adding a resort for us here. It's so different than any resort anywhere (except maybe Africa). There's lot of discussion on the resort board but I thought people here might want to see the pictures.

Pam...WOW!! This place looks fantastic!

Just made reservations today to dine at JIKO's on 5/2. Interesting..they didn't ask me for a credit card #, just gave me my PS #. I had heard rumors that you would be asked for a CC #, and charged $10. if you failed to show up for your reservation (or cancel) Can't wait to take our personal tour of this resort!

I had heard the same thing about the credit card number. It seems that some are being asked and others are not. I'm just thinking outloud, but do you think it has something to do with staying on site verses staying off? You don't think that Disney thinks if you stay on site that they already have your card number? It seems doubtful, but I am wondering why some are asked and others are not. Probably just confusion at CRO. But we know that rarely happens! LOL!

It looks great. I think I might have to change my cash reservations for a conference in October. I was going to stay at my home resort BWV, but I think I'm going to change my mind. WDW has really done a wonderfull job.

In the photos of the Animal Kingdom Lodge the atrium style interior make it look similar to the Wilderness Lodge with a different theme to the decoration.

Thanks Pam for posting that link. I am really impressed. It looks like such a beautiful resort!We definitely will be adding on a few cash days there on one of our upcoming trips.

I love WL, but it looks like the theming there may even surpass the wonderful theming of the WL. :)

Thanks for posting this link. These pictures must have been posted yesterday 3/31/01. When I checked mid day yesterday there were none. We have at least one cash day Savanah View on our upcoming trip in July/Aug. 2001. Enjoyed all the pictures! ;)

BobH, it looks like WL because it was designed by the same design team. Way back when they started breaking ground for this resort, we were told by several cast members that a DVC would be added there. I haven't heard any more about it in any official capacity, but I sure hope they do!
