Do any of you know if a Tamron lens will fit in a Nikon D40 camera.? I used to have the Tamron 18-200 lens that I really liked but I sold it with my Canon camera. Now I have the Nikon and I'm trying to find a similar lens that is in that price range.
Thanks for any advice.

Tamron sells glass for different makes. You will need to check that it is specifically made for a Nikon.

HERE (http://www.nikonians.org/forums/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=152&topic_id=13319&mesg_id=13319&page=) is a list of D40 compatible lenses. It lists Nikkor, Tamron, Sigma, and Tokina...

Keep in mind older glass will work on the D40 as well, but not with auto focus or metering. You will just need to shoot in Manual mode.
