Had an exciting day at Epcot area today , sat oct. 17... Stopped to admire Breathless II and the weekend captain David was taking it out to warm it up for some use that evening.. He created some magic and took me with him for a ten minute shakedown cruise... Thank you so much David.. In the course of conversation he told me that Art the Greeter at BCV was retiring and I was able to get over there at about 3:30 to say goodbye... Don't know if this is a big deal to anyone but me, but I have talked to him just about every year since 1997. Best costume on property, great personality, amazing voice. He filled that lobby with dignity and approachability. Quiet and confident at the same time. G'bye ART I'll miss you. I was blessed to leave baltimore this morning at 7am , 38 degrees and raining. Entered Epcot at 1105.. and through sheer luck got to see Art on his last day!

Val & I stopped by to wish Art well on Thursday. Hope he has a long and happy retirement. We'll miss him. :sad:

NC B. and I had a nice chat with him on Oct. 9 and did pictures with him. I told him that there was this guy from NY that has been wanting to interview him. Art's wife is not retiring/quitting her job yet. Art says he feels so bless by everyone's well wishes and prayers.

Has Disney done anything special for him? Maybe not a window on main st but??

I was lucky enough to catch Art after meeting up with Briar Rosie for breakfast at Beach Club. He will definately be missed.

I'm glad we had the opportunity to tell Art how much we appreciated him. They had a woman acting as the greeter after he left, and it's just not the same. :sad2:
