Can I switch? I am at WL for seven night currently and leave in a few weeks...I haven't done all the math but presume that 4/3 would save more money than free dining.

Advice?

Well, to get the 4/3 price, go to Disney's website and get a 4 night quote, factor in meals or 7 day dining plan, then compare it to what you have now. Yes you can switch, you just have to call disney, book the 4/3 and cancel the FD.
