I'm a totall newbie when it comes to the dining plan so excuse this question if it seems completely . . . dumb.
We're going out one night without the kids which will leave my son (only kid old enough for dining plan) with two extra table service credits. Can I use these for counter service kids meals (I have two-year old twins who could use them) or something? I'd hate for them to go to waste, but I don't want to make another ADR (with the grown ups paying out of pocket) just to try and use them up.
Thanks.

Depends on the time of year and the CM. Sometimes they let you trade credits down and sometimes they don't. I would also like to mention that nowhere on your card is it mentioned that credits are either "adult" or "child"...just saying ;) :rolleyes1

TS credits used to be all grouped together so you could technically get away with using child credits for adult meals. Now the credits are seperated and you can only use child credits for child meals. I would just use them to get meals for the other children.

The problem is, we're only doing buffets with the twins because we're hoping it will be quicker. As I understand it, they eat free anyway at buffets. I really only wanted to see if I could use his tableservice credit for a counter service meal, which the younger children could use. I'm just hoping they'll let me do it, as the PP posted said.

It doesn't hurt to ask. Just try and pop into a CS place when it is relatively quiet. Special requests are less likely to be considered when the CM's are rushed off their feet. And you may be refused at one place and accommodated at another. Sometimes the resorts can be a bit more flexible than the parks and this is something worth considering. Also I would not wait until the last day to try and use it for this reason - if you don't come right one day at least you still have the next day(s) to try.

We had 2 table service (childs) leftover towards the end of our stay. We were able to use them for CS but you needed to tell the cashier so she could enter the correct code when charging your account. We never use our childrens dining plan at signature restaurants. Their meals are usually only 7 dollars and to use two meal tickets seems like a waste to me. We just paid OOP for their meals.
